Branch out in your world and go far away from your original area and start clean there. Then you can always go back and in a way connect two worlds.

    I actually started keeping digital journals of my worlds, though I wish I had the idea sooner when starting out so that I could go back and reflect on everything I had done, I even keep copies and journals of the worlds backed up to either a USB or a cloud storage so I never lose them. I realized that in doing so I was ensuring that my world would never truly be forgotten. Every detail down to my thought process at the time would be written down in my journal entries, an action which would forge a permanent legacy on each world that could be relived down to the very block I spawned on.

  • @shiningarmour6805
    @shiningarmour6805 Před 2 lety +2

    The problems I have are attachments and farms.
    Not only do I get attached, but do you know the time it takes to build say, an Ocean Monument farm?
    I get a sense of pride, achievement, and a lot of emotional investment to finish something like that in Survival.
    It's not only the structure itself, but every block you placed and certain areas remind you of a time of your life. A wedding, someone's birthday, your college graduation? All things that are tied to what you used at the time to distract yourself.
    _My_ gameplay experience to lose something like that because "oh, new update, lets wipe the server" is really messed up.
    It's the same loss as when a retcon in a story is made, or a character you loved? After you spent so many hours, days, weeks, months, *even years* to make it a big part of your life; on a whim it's just gone and there's nothing you can do about it.
    Lots of people don't understand me because all they do in Minecraft? Make quick house, kill bosses, and "win"? They all do it within a week or two and move on. And that's FINE if that's all they want to do, that's not the issue. The issue is when they can't walk in someone else's shoes for a mile and understand when people make huge builds and lose them? It's devastating.

    I agree. I massively regret deleting my old worlds and somehow never even thought to just move a few hundred blocks away when I wanted a fresh start despite how ridiculously massive Minecraft worlds are. I would always delete and make a new world whenever a new big update came out despite knowing that all I had to do to find the stuff in the new updates was to just journey out further than I'd ever been before, which itself could've been so fun to do especially to see the chunk errors. So many dogs tossed to the void and made mockeries of by naming new ones after them.

    I watched this video seriously 4 times already and NOW I get the motivation from ToyCat that I gonna make a world with my old projects and buildings. From the very start of versions to this day. Buildings I build when I got the demo version to beta, to now. I have fresh memories when it comes to Minecraft. Even buildings I never finished.

  • @ninjanoodle2674
    @ninjanoodle2674 Před 3 lety +1

    I 100% agree that having all your survival builds in the same world makes the most sense (I like the fact that my survival world has various builds dotting the landscape), but I'm actually a little worried about all the talk regarding the height limit changing in the Caves and Cliffs update. I'm fairly adept at using MC Edit to be able to reset chunks that have no structures on them in order to regenerate those chunks with the new cave biomes and new mountain generation (I used it to reset the Nether for 1.16), but if they alter the fundamental framework of the game I have no idea how that will affect my old world. Either way, my fear is that at some point I will have to choose between my current survival world or the newest update. Caves and Cliffs might just be that point (and I'm actually a little surprised that you didn't address this).

    I'm personally one for playing one world for a long time. My current world is coming up on 1 year old next month (Febuary 2021), and my last one was 3 (2017-2019) (lost to a hard drive fail, it was bedrock too - so I'd end up going back to Java anyway). Before that, I'd never really put tons of work into my Minecraft worlds, even the ones that I lingered on for months and sometimes years at a time.
    I'm planning on keeping my current world for as long as I can. [And] I've done all of my most grindiest projects on it. 2 manjor bases, 1 farming district with massive farms, a _huge_ storage system, a project where I mined the entire End (this is a pre-1.9 world (It's on 1.6.4), the end gateways and outer islands didn't exist yet), a sprawling overworld rail line, 2,000-block-long Nether tunnels, *the list goes on!* I plan to do much, much more too.
    It's great because as I rennovate my world for new base expansions, monuments, and builds; I uncover little crevices with things like my first strip mine from Feb. 2020, base plans I made and put on signs on the side of a hill - but said side of a hill is now under my base and it's a small air gap sealed up for months, et cetera. It's so fun finding these old things hidden behind walls and preserved as my world becomes a huge thing with tons of sights to see.
    Plus, all of my friends have played on it too, so they have access to the massive infrastructure I constructed - and I get surprised myself at build they make which I've never seen before.
    Such is a monument to my dedication to this silly block game. And that dedication will only grow - more and more - and I hope to see my world grow _more and more_ alongside it.

It was so small it couldn't spawn passive mobs, amd I thought "How much can I do without setting foot on amy other landmass?". I dont know what it takes for a lot of people, but for me coming up with a cool challenge is what got me to stick with a world. I've been playing on that world for a little over a year amd still loving it. If you got questions on how I solved the MANY difficulties that came with the challenge, feel free to ask me.

    I have a problem, and I need ideas to fix it. Whenever I make a world, it starts out great. I’ll start to progress, and I come up with tons of great ideas. Then I’ll start working on various things, like farms, villager breeders, and houses. Then I’ll just feel like there’s nothing to do in the world, even with all my ideas. In a recent world I had, I was gonna make an iron farm, and I was collecting all the items, and I just decided it was boring and I haven’t played that world since. Whenever I try to work on a project, eventually I’ll just get bored and feel like there’s nothing to do. I don’t know why it randomly gets boring, it just does. Does anyone have any tips to help this?
