I once left a server running for several months to a year with no intervention, and though most of the villagers were dead, one did manage to live. He somehow managed to survive a fall into one of the deepest caves on the map and not get himself killed at the bottom. When we started playing again and rediscovered him, we made him the mayor of the new town that we built within that cave. :v

My best guess for what actually happened to Rainydayas is that since the village was very close to the spawn chunk, it's most likely that once he fell into the cave, he simply wandered outside of that area and unloaded until the next time the server was active. It's an underwhelming expanation, but it's the only one that really makes any sense.

You forgot, because of the flowing water, salmon, cod, pufferfish and tropical fish could spawn. It’s unlikely that axolotls or glow squids would spawn because it’s not dark enough. Pufferfish can kill mobs if they’re close enough so that’s something to take into consideration too. If an ocean was preserved then dolphins could spawn too. Also it’s likely the few surviving ocelots would eventually walk into lava.

Creeper explosions should be fairly rare in deserts. It'll happen eventually but don't hold your breath. The easiest way to get creeper explosions is wolf-llama interactions resulting in a missed projectile directly hitting a creeper. Neither wolves nor llamas spawn in a desert.
You might think that axolotls, pufferfish, trident drowned, skeletons, or something else would cause it, but the hostile mobs would end up being mostly witches, with other hostile mobs having life expectancies measured in weeks or months, while witches could last many years especially in a relatively flat area.
Mob diffusion is pretty powerful though, both across land and sea. It's not unreasonable to expect that, having walked for a few million blocks, a typical wolf or llama will be kilometers from where it spawned, so deserts are not forced to rely on hostile mob interactions to create projectiles, just somewhat less likely. It's also worth noting that about 75% of creepers should be charged, so yeah, they're gonna be *very* destruction when they do go off.

You forgot about one thing: axolotls! They would make their way into oceans eventually, since they will spawn in lush caves until every clay block and moss block is removed from existence. In some oceans, tropical fish spawn, and if two adult axolotls kill a tropical fish each, they breed, making them the only self-breeding mob in the game. Those cute little guys will eventually kill every elder guardian and make it almost impossible for fish to live, since they would be killed almost instantly by hundreds of hungry axolotls in they area. Not even squids would survive.
Also, a few fun things about the world: phantoms would be everywhere, since they spawn in the air. They’d do absolutely nothing without players or golems, but it would be another living species. But, if there is a world with a 12 eye portal, phantoms could go in there by accident and survive forever if they simply fly from the end portal
Other nether mobs would eventually seep into the world, like blazes, which should be able to survive for eternity since they don’t take fall damage. As long as they avoid water, they would survive too.

  • @MinerBat
    @MinerBat Před 8 měsíci +1622

1: villagers can probably make new ones fast enough, especially on peaceful, though by random chance they will eventually still die just by getting unlucky
2: passive mobs still spawn as long as there is grass, just slower than hostile mobs
3: there are more enviromental damage sources than only fall damage, there is also lava, cactus and of course the lightning
4: wardens do not spawn without player noise
5: if they did, i still think the relatively low amount of shriekers would disappear way before any significant surface damage occurs. i think it is way more likely for a skeleton and creeper to spawn in a nearby cave and walk into the deep dark and trigger an explosion close to the shriekers than for a warden to walk all the way to the surface, and survive there long enough for the creeper scenario (especially since wardens disappear when not sensing anything for too long)
6: while portals can theoretically be created given the exact right conditions, it is possible for a world to get to a state where any opportunity for portal creating irreversably failed, or where creepers can also enter the portal in reverse, causing the terrain around it in the nether to get destroyed in such a way that the portal becomes unreachable for hoglins, and i think any of those happening is way more likely than a completely stable and undestroyable one way portal occuring in a world, making zoglins in the overworld not an option
    here is my scenario:
1: villagers go extinct, just a bit slower than in your scenario since they reproduce, but mobs will still get them all, the only villagers left are those in igloos but since they are stuck they are irrelevant
2: lighting destroying everything flammable, nothing different there
3: enderman based landscape erosion. endermen pick up blocks and either place them somewhere else (where another enderman can pick it back up) or die with the block and the block gets destroyed. however endermen have some rules to what blocks they can pick up and only being able to pick up blocks with air next to them, so they will pick up any grass/dirt above sea level because those have air next to them or can be reached that way by first removing other blocks, and those below sea level that can be reached using a cave in the terrain. so the world ends up with empty stone hills and stone wasteland (endermen cant pick up stone) with sometimes some grass areas left where the grass was surrounded by water or stone or other blocks that endermen could not pick up. cactus goes extinct because endermen can pick it up and die with it. some very remote mushroom islands may survive if they have no place within reach an enderman could teleport from and they cannot swim
4: there will be a time on any of the isolated grass patches where by pure (very low, but possible) chance the grass gets eaten by passive mobs faster than it regrows, which makes it so that passive mobs no longer spawn on that dirt area since they need grass to spawn. eventually all remaining grass gets destroyed this way causing extinction of most passive mobs except chickens (because chicken jockeys) and mooshrooms (which can swim from the very rare super remote mushroom islands)
eventually, this all results in a world made from mostly stone with some dirt, sand, gravel etc in places endermen cant reach. filled with only chickens and mooshrooms as passive mobs and the ususal hostile mobs with various lava and water places stil around

No, mushroom islands aren't inherently safe. As you saw in RGN's video, Zombies can spawn with Frost Walker enchanted boots, walk out onto the ocean, and Endermen can drop sand on the temporary ice. Doing this they can create sand bridges to anywhere. They can even technically drain an ocean monument with the right series of events. The right series of events can also lead to sand bridges to any secluded island for charged creeper explosions to demolish.
Entropy comes for us all. Even the humble island mooshroom.
EDIT: Chests with Frost Walker can be blown up and some zombies can equip the boots. This is highly unlikely though since these chests would be finite. There's too much that has to go right for a finite source to make all this possible. It is still theoretically possible, just not guaranteed within the thought experiment of a single, continuous server.

I edited my post to include this as well as the unlikelyhood of this being useful since these chests are finite and the zombies will die by daytime. My idea: The ground might not be completely destroyed. Creepers and skeletons are likely to spawn in the deep dark and destroy the shriekers. Mushroom biomes will not be safe as Endermen will bridge to those biomes, and pick up mycelium. Mycelium biomes can still be safe if it becomes a floating island Endermen can also destroy blocks if they pick up a block before dying, so the world will be reduced to bedrock. The nether: Wardens will agro to ghasts, but the ghasts will be killed before they can do any damage. The only thing that can grief the nether will be the Enderman. Enderman can destroy blocks if they pick up blocks, and then die. If there is a nether portal, the nether will still be safe as it is unlikely that wardens will get into the nether. The nether won’t be safe, and the Zoglin apocalypse wouldn’t happen as extremely. The end will be safe, as endermen can’t pick up endstone. If wardens, creepes, and skeletons spawn, they won’t destroy anything more than the central island. Wardens can’t teleport through end gateways, nor can they travel to the outer islands.

an interesting thing about the idea of a naturally created portal is that even though it's rare, once it's created it's virtually indestructible, due to the fact that if broken on either side, anything walking through it on the working side causes another full portal frame to generate, this plus the fact that lightning can relight overworld portals means eventually the world (and the nether) is going to be covered in obsidian, which creepers can't destroy and mobs can spawn on.

Here's another interesting thought: What if, after the heat death of Minecraft, a player finally respawned after those billions of billions of years? Would the player be able to do anything and theoretically survive and even thrive?
A few edits: I've seen the singe grass block videos, so I do know it is possible. The progression would be different though, consisting of getting wood from a shipwreck, mining underwater ores, and building a Nether portal. Since Endermen naturally spawn in the Nether, all of the netherrack would be gone, but the player could still bridge out to a Nether fortress to kill blazes, which should still be intact. Then the player just has to find an End portal and enter the End.
What's probably even more interesting is the thought of a player somehow respawning after leaving their game on for billions of years, long after the Earth has been completely destroyed. Chances are, whoever would have respawned would either not be human, or they'd be so different to modern humans that we couldn't recognize them at all.

And most of it is incorrect too,
      1. the sun will never go supernova
      2. even if the chunk of earth holding tim's world was blasted into space, it would most certainly not get into an orbit around any star, ever. Especially a white dwarf with its very tiny radius and insignificant gravity.
      3. quantum tunelling will forbid the existance of this minecraft world, the internal hardware in the laptop will eventually wear off, most likely within 1 trillion years, even with no outside influence
So more likely than not, the world will be destroyed by lightning strikes everywhere, but that's about it. Not a single creeper will explode and not a single zombie hoglin will span in that tiny amount of time.

I think that the super rare "skeleton gets hit by warden and shoots an arrow that hits a creeper" event would eliminate sculk shriekers (and thus stop wardens from spawning) long before they would significantly damage the entire world (which really would take billions of years). Wardens only spawn in ancient cities, so that is where the majority of rare creeper explosions would be localised, not on the surface. Given that creepers greatly outnumber wardens, it would be far more likely for a creeper and a skeleton to eventually wander into an ancient city than it would be for a warden to eventually end up on the surface. So more destruction would take place in the ancient cities than on the surface, meaning that wardens would be eliminated long before the surface level of the world is worn down.

    The wardens come from below.
    Mouintains are hard to climb.
Skeletons like to hide under things.
There are less things to hide under on mountaintops.
Given these facts, it is likely that creeper explosions wouldn't often happen on mountaintops, but rather around them, and eventually under them, making them unreachable to wardens and hoglins, and leaving them as floating islands. These could be safe for spawning passive mobs, at least as long as endermen don't remove all grass blocks. I don't know if ocelots need grass, but if not, their spawning locations could be preserved on these islands in particularly hilly jungles.

    • @clockworkkirlia7475
      @clockworkkirlia7475 Před 5 měsíci +2

Good point! The end of time doesn't bring just a barren wasteland, but something more akin to *the aether,* with creepers and passives and armoured undead living together atop islands in the sky. I much prefer that! That said, grass will eventually be eaten by passive mobs, so even grass horizontally surrounded by Enderman-immune blocks or in patches surrounded by water (and thus immune to Endermen themselves) will be eaten by the mobs that spawn on it. That said, might be possible for grass to spread between identical such patches faster than mobs eat them in specific scenarios, but, even if not certain patches could be protected from grazing by a vertically adjacent light-letting block such as shallow ice or and as such be immune to being eaten! Thus, renewable mountaintop grass eternally spreading onto nearby dirt, and it doesn't feel at all unlikely for any number of these conditions to be met by a few mountaintops in a whole Minecraft world.
So, in the end, we have flora, albeit only in the form of grasses, and only so long as lightning never strikes a fire long-lasting enough to melt the ice and destroy the grass while simultaneously all other grass has been eaten by whatever grazing mobs do rarely spawn so that spread can't happen again after the ice reforms... But, yes, we have Flora, in the form of grasses. We have Fauna, in the form of mooshrooms, creepers, ocelots, chickens, spiders, corals, dolphins, guardians and all the fishes and squids of sea and cave *at the bare minimum.* We have Funga, in the form of Mushroom Islands, their mycelium, the red and brown caps, and the unshorn mooshroom symbionts that live endless lives atop the hides and in the milk-producing glands of their mammalian hosts.
We could even have Society, of a sort, in those rare, distant ice-villages that Wardens are so unlikely to access before their pathways are rendered inaccessible, whose houses are protected from lightning and whose doorways are miraculously blocked by the few Endermen who ferry natural blocks from nearby islands connected only by a teleportable pathway of sea ice. Those individuals, and their cats, may still survive, and thus so will raiding Illagers and their Ravager mounts, living rich if theoretically violent lives like the Viking of old across the floes of the ice-lands, only occasionally falling off the edge of the ocean into the bedrock hell below, and, if the igloos are truly blocked-up, never loosing the readied bolt that hits a creeper and ends it all...
But, even without them, with Flora, Fauna and Funga alike, biodiversity suffers, but life endures.
      Life Always Endures.

      In short, no wardens
Not to mention, they despawn with in a minute of getting bored, and they get bored fast. Even if a warden managed to spawn, he isn't getting far before he burrows back underground.
Something holding the warden back even further is the restriction preventing wardens from spawning with in 100 blocks of another active warden.
In other words, the warden is not going to set of any creepers any time soon.
Llama will set of creepers regularly.
Llamas spit at wolves. Llamas have a hard time hitting wolves, often launching their loogie over the wolf's head. This missed spit may hit a skeleton, causing the skeleton to agro the llama resulting in a cross fire that may hit a creeper. The air bound mouth juice may also end up striking a creeper directly.
