Make sure the blinker fluid is the right colour.
One thing I would recommend checking is the turbo intake tube for rubber deterioration. I had a 04 WRX and now I have a 05 STI and both vehicles had the stock turbo inlet Boot and the rubber on the end of it where it connects to the turbo was deteriorated to where it was leaking air and making the car run super lean, on my STI it ended up burning up a piston in the motor because I didn't know it was leaking. So check that boot and make sure it's on right and doesn't have holes rodded in it. it's only a $60 fix for a new one but it is kind of a pain in the butt to get it in there.
After that sti u bought that needed 9k of work u should have taken ur own advice
An hour of driving later, his cluster lights up like a Christmas tree: ABS, CEL, and a flashing green Cruise Control light 👍🏻
Like the videos you guys make. I really wanted to start a car blog with my buddies back home. I’m from the valley of SoCal and I’ve always wanted an sti but I thought it would be a long time before I could get one especially since I joined the military in February and I figured I’d be moving around a lot. I just got to my first duty station in North Dakota and I’m proud to say that tomorrow I’ll be coming home with an ‘05 sti. Keep up the videos!
Well made video dude. I didn't need the advice I was just curious cuz I just bought an sti. But you covered everything I normally look for. Nicely done
honestly a big fan but you should make a squad video with everybody rolling together and a short meet video
The MOST important thing when checking a Scooby is to make sure it's cold when you see it. After all your checks start the engine cold. Should not have any issues starting and the mother of all Scooby problems......listen for a knocking sound at idle. Turn it off and on a few times. Then leave it idle. I would normally carry out all the other checks while it is heating up. PLEASE ANYONE BUYING AN IMPREZA DO THIS. You won't go far wrong if you do. Good video
Saw Josh's WRX yesterday coming down spooner summint thing is looking mint 👍 keep up the good work guys
flat4ninja93 thanks man! Your car is beautiful!👍🏼
Hey man love your vids :) after such a long wait I'm finally 18 and tomorrow i pick up a 100% stock bugeye wrx wagon. 02 with 130k miles. Car fax says head gasket, valve cover gaskets, water pump, timing belt kit, and radiator was serviced. I'm very excited!
Forbiess Edits good for you man :) always very exciting
SubieTroops I got it today and i talked them down 800 bucks because it needs ignition coils spark plugs and wires. Also needs a new air filter and fuel filter. But I'm doing all the work tomorrow. I'm very happy with the car :)!
Dope vid man, weird question but where'd you get that sweater
Great vid man. I love this channel, only wished I wasn't late to the party
Have someone start up the car and look to see if the motor shakes in a bad way when started
Awesome video! Tks a lot.. i Will buy a blob, maybe next month.. leon from Brazil.
Bro when you coming to Australia?
Killing it, my goal of my channel is to be like you guys keep up the good work, hopefully we can link up for a video sometime maybe a 05 to 04 sti video!
Evan Willard thank you! And yes definitely! :)
Great video! Good call on the code reader too. I recently bought a 2010 STI and didn't check for error codes. It threw a catalyst below efficiency code the day after I bought it. I ended up needing to replace the downpipe and I went for the Cobb catted downpipe and an Accessport tune to stage 2. I'm kind of happy it happened because the car runs amazing now, but it was a pretty high unexpected expense, right after I had already spent a lot of money on the car. Anyway, great videos guys and keep it up! Coming from Ontario, Canada.
aginther7 there will always be unexpected things I think with every car, but glad you got it fixed man right on!
Color of the fluids
Make sure the floor mat fluid isn’t brown
How about a timing belt? It is necessary to ask the owner when the last time he change?...on your opinion how much the mileage for changing the new timing belt?
faizul jusoh in another video the guy said around 90,000 miles or around 145,000km
Awesome vid as usual. Do you know where I can find the STI badge for the wheels? Also headlight replacements for an 06 STI. The headlights with the custom LED bar are difficult to find online. Any help is greatly appreciated!
CursedX16 the headlights I'm not sure. I know there may be after market ones online, have you tried a junk yard?
CursedX16, where you stay?
patayan tribe The Caribbean
SubieTroops No i haven't. Not many Subaru scrap where I live anyway so I doubt I'll have much luck. Google "Vipmotoz 06 sti headlights" to get a visual of what I mean.
Thanks for replying though!
See here In maine you would be very very lucky to find a car with a hundred thousand miles or less
8 hours out?? So you bought the car and drove it all the way back home?
I wish you would of made this before I bought my subie 😂lol
Do you guys think if you buy a automatic wrx blob eye there would be the same problems as the manual or Are there completely different problems
Ec_23jr same
Same engine type different transmission.
Any opinions on rebuilt titles?
DittoCake personally I would stick to just clean title
This ain't just a used car it's a tuned Sti
I'm thinking of buying an 05 Audi A4 with 119xxx is it worth it??
Don't buy a car on instergram d bag that makes it look 'nice' but it's mechanically fooked.
If it’s a Subaru, and it’s taken care of completely like my wrx and Forester , then 150k+ IS OKAY, Not great but okay. Because subies run forever if you treat them like they will
Why does everyone keep saying they blow up?
check brakes
above 2000000 km
Lemon Squad. Com... you pay them a 150 they check it send you pictures give you a mechanical information about it... they are certified mechanics...look it up..!!!
First like
Actually the first, very first and the most critical thinking to do on these POS motors are compression and leak down test period end of story case closed.
Pos motor? How old are you 12?
nice rattpack hat
useless... i dont even check these things ... cause its obvious that in a car that its for sale oils are new and filled up ... all the lights and indicators are working properly. I mean its an STI not 99 corolla ... and even if they dont its cheap to put some new stuff... but head gasket failures is my concern and also to check if all the parts ara japanese Subaru Tecnica International..
