    I loved this video - I enjoyed the whimsical music playing while you put the table together especially.

    I'd love to see a gaming table that switches between sitting and standing positions. Some games are better played when standing, whereas others are more ideal for sitting.

    06:46 and you get a regular table costing ten times as much on which you can play games as on any other table :D

    Are the ilghts on the dice tower battery powered? Or is there a power force cable we didn't see in this footage? In this case, where does the cable come from? Does it hang from somewhere?

    So, for flicking games: felt (not sliding well), wood (stuff can fly off the table) or put the plastic sheet on the felt (might be too smooth)?

    I realized it must have been a Union job when you had to call in Melody just to pull the support table. ;)

    I've been searching for a long time for a nice table. Actually, I had money on a table through geek chic since they were so close but sadly they went bankrupt. Still, I would much rather have this table here. It's too bad there are no available tables for sale that are premade. Something that comes with the felt and leaves and player stations and not the large additional cost. All the extra means I would be spending close to 7k u.s. dollars to have it made, taxed and shipped. Understandably you get what you pay for and I sincerely think I would never have to buy another table again. Great review and it after seeing how the leaves fit I think I may just save some cash.

    How many people does this fit when playing Dungeons and dragons where the GM would need a DM screen ?

    Beautiful table, but you are definitely paying for that level of quality. Wonder if they do counter height tables this way.

      3450 euros.....

    • @zhiwiller
      @zhiwiller Před 7 lety +3

      That's the base price. +320 for felt, +850 for six player stations, +250 for the dice tower, +140 for the trench patrol, +400 for wireless charging, +570 for leaves, +??? for the stain, I can't tell if it is stained. So close to 6,000 euro shipped?

    It doesn't seem to have the waterproof system that makes liquid spoils flow away, like the Geeknson tables do, does it? Not very convenient if you spoil your drinks over the top layer during dinner.

    • @Rathskellers
      @Rathskellers Před 7 lety +13

      It does not feature a waterproof system. In fact there is no waterproof system capable of 100% waterproofing. For the Specific Phalanx Model it is really easy for us to add a waterproof solution since the top hardwood leaves cover the whole surface. We have already included waterproofing in some of our client's tables. There is one con you need to consider when using a waterproof solution though : Water, Dirt and liquids can remain inside the canal/ledges/rubbers and damage the table if left there for prolonged amount of time. We prefer to offer our tables without a waterproofing solution. It is always better to destroy a component , a map, a board of a 50$-100% game that can be replaced easily than damage the table. Having said that, we use a really durable conversion varnish (used in automotive industry) and you can also add a Velveteen Microfibre Wateproof cloth for the game cellar so liquids are really not an issue, you will just have to wipe the table after the spill :)

      oops it has an option for a speaker system. Put the Drawers in Rathskellers please.

    • @Rathskellers
      @Rathskellers Před 6 lety

      Hello Oblama ! :) Indeed the Phalanx can include our Bluetooth Speaker, Led Lights (New style coming soon), and usb chargers. We do not usually offer the Phalanx with drawers (it can be done though) since we wanted to offer a more minimal table.

    From the Rathskellers website:
    "It is our first gaming table that doesn’t include our innovative Aluminum Railing System"
    And then...
    "Base Price of THE PHALANX includes ALUMINUM RAILING SYSTEM"
    Make up your mind, eh guys? ;)

      No problem... when I'm more established, maybe you'll send me a table too? ;) www.tabletoptribe.com/ - word of warning though, I don't necessarily pull punches! www.tabletoptribe.com/review-geeknsons-crowdfunding-woes-troubled-taylah-gaming-table/ - that one may well have done you some favours in the long-run.... ;)

    • @Rathskellers
      @Rathskellers Před 7 lety +1

      Hi Guy ! Thanks for the reply ! All of the tables we ship to You-tube Channels are provided with a discount. Of-course Tom & the Dice Tower got a bigger discount than a Channel with less subscribers and followers. In Fact we are only aiming for honest reviews, and when something is paid (even at a discounted rate) we are not expecting a favorable review by any means. It is just the way we are doing business :) ! I suppose you have to trust our 50 years of expertise ! Having said that, you are mostly welcome to discuss the possibility of a gaming table when you feel the need for a change ! We'll always be here, and we hope that our Products will make justice of our words !
      Greetings From Greece,
      Rathskellers

      I'll certainly bear you guys in mind ;) At the moment I'm not a CZcams reviewer - just written articles. They do sometimes get pretty good viewing figures though (up to 23K a day) so I can probably hang with the big boys! Hopefully talk to you in the future some time!
