I just got back into the hobby. Played so very much back in early 90s. Your videos have let me know that i made the right choice. Thanks for the inspiration and soothing vids.
It is... amazing! An extreamly good paint job! I wish i was that good! Im glad you post these tutorials, they are good to watch and work on your own models after. Escpeicaly that high lighting part was good for me to see as i have not high lighted any of my orks yet. Many thanks for great quality videos!
Your highlighting technic is pretty good. And not only in this video, with this robe, but in your other videos, the Space Marines armors, clothing, and so on. I try to do it as you do, although I'm not as good as you. Good job
Thank you Alexandra for the in-depth tutorial. Just to let you know, it earned you a subscriber. I just invested about $250 (I'm uncertain what the Euro Zone equivalent would be....) in using painting as an alternative to smoking and was looking for something for people who have been interested in painting but never really had the confidence to spend that kind of money while having no experience. This step by step process is fantastic. I am really excited about your future instruction. Once I work my way through the models I had already ordered for this process I will switch to GW and 40k models to be on the same exact page, I really wish I would have seen or known of your channel before I ordered my first models, but my route to your classes was....circuitous. That's alright. Judging by how much I used to smoke, and how effective your instruction is, I'll have those first miniatures painted in a flash and be on to the same things you're working on. I've seen about ten of your videos now and I'd like to know which you would recommend most to an absolute beginner in the hobby as you have rather a lot of videos. For now your instruction is fine for what I ordered. Just because your Marines think technology is the root of all evil and mine see it as their last hope does not change how the pigment sticks to them....Thank you again, your channel is truly one of a kind.
+mikejonesnoreally i am glad my videos help you :) for the videos i recomend for a beginner, i would say almost every video of me. i tend to target my videos at beginners and intermediat painters. just pick a video that is closest to the model you are painting and maybe you can pick up a technick or two ;-)
thxz for all the time you take to putup these great helpful videos , i have move forward in my own painting due to your helpfulvids thxz a lot girlpainting your the best :)
Awesome job and very well explained. I havent painted a 40k figure since I was 15 but this is really tempting me to get back into painting, I'm now 30 !
In case no one has pointed it out yet, Forgeworld is now selling a Blood Ravens transfer sheet... although the less expensive option is still downloading the sheet from Dakka, lol. Awesome video as always. I'm a Chaos marines player but if I ever made a loyalist army it would probably be Blood Ravens. lol
I've just noticed I still have my AoBR Captain unpainted. ...hmmm maybe a Blood Raven would be a nice one for the shelf. Anyway fantastic tutorial as always. I look forward to the next.
I have been watching your videos and you are a really good painter. I am just starting to paint my own miniatures. What do you mean by a mixture of 50:50? This may seem like a dumb question, but us newbies need to learn.
I actually think that the Blood Raven shoulder trim is dark grey, or black. This is the way that they are painted in Dawn of War 1, Winter assault, Dark Crusade, and Soulstorm.
Hey I know it's probably a stupid request but it's been giving me a bit of trouble, how do you fix bad paint mistakes? Like if you're brush slips how to correctly fix it to keep it looking great?
Why don't you use the same kind of technique that you used for the different shades of green on the sword for the cloak as well? During this whole tutorial, I was waiting to see how you were going to blend in the shades of the cloak to make it look more natural but it seems that you just leave them like that...
Hi! I'm a new subscriber. I'm sure it's been asked/answered by now, but what do you use for the handle? I'm about to paint what I like to describe as "my future child's college fund" worth of my fiance's miniatures and having a handle will very likely be a life-saver. Thank you in advance!
+Joseph Yates really? because in Dawn of War 1, Dark Crusade and soulstorm, they all have Black trims, Including the armies of Gabriel Angelos, who is Captain of the 3rd Company.
I always pick up a new tip watching your videos. Your time and euthusiam are greatly appreciated.

Very nice work! He is the best looking captain I have seen made from a AOBR.
A big thank you from France for your many tutorials. Keep it up :) !!!
Great Video as always, the power sword technique and the red are definitely things I will be using for my Word Bearers army.

Thanks so much for this. The wet blending helped me greatly.

Isnt the trim on the shoulder pads supposed to be black ?
For 5th company yes. Other companies have their own color trim. I think 3rd is gold.
+Joseph Yates really? because in Dawn of War 1, Dark Crusade and soulstorm, they all have Black trims, Including the armies of Gabriel Angelos, who is Captain of the 3rd Company.
Its in the space marine codex
Omg captain hairgel
