- Used Colours: Mordian Blue, Deadly Nightshade (Necron Abys), Regal Blue, Goblin Green, Badab Black Wash, Asurmen Blue Wash, Orkhide Shade, Snot Green, Golden Yellow, Boltgun Metal, Mithril Silver, Chaos Black, Commando Kaki, Burnished Gold, Tin Bitz, Dwarf Bronze, Griphone Sepia Wash and as always Dihidrogenmonoxide.
Brush: GW Basecoat Brush - Jak na to + styl
Dihidrogenmonoxide can really thin those paints down. Be careful with that stuff folks if you use too much you won't get good smooth coverage! Also; It's really nice to see you experimenting with freehanding - alot of painters don't realize you just need to practice it to get good!
Another good tutorial, i like the effects you achieve on each model you paint. I am new to warhammer and your videos have been very informative and this has given me the inspiration to paint my army. Thanks.
A lovely way of how you would paint alpha legion nice mix of the blues please keep them coming and nice to see you back and in a big way
Your videos relax and amuse me. Very well done.
I shall be using your paint scheme as a base for my Pre-Heresy Alpha Legion army. Thank you so very much for making this video!
Starting a new AlphaLegion army to celebrate the new codex and kits, and this tutorial has given me some good ideas as to how I'm going to scheme them. I'll be using a little more green than here but the armour highlighting style looks great so I'll be trying it out. Cheers!
I've never really been into this stuff, but it looks so cool, I wanna give it a try.
Good painting skills and tips
Look forward to using your painting techniq for my Alpha legion marines. Thanks for the video
Great tute thanks scales looked cool and the horn technique was interesting thanks a lot :)
Thank You! I needed this tutorial!
Very good video, thats an excelent alpha legion. Keep going.
@Nusphigore I think she got the shading on the armour pretty spot on, the scales were ok, I mean... freehanding isn't very easy, but I definately agree with the silver. Either way, I think the model looks badass.
another superb video always fun to watch :)
I like Alpha Legions x) They remind me of Sub Zero from Mortal Kombat :)
@GirlPainting
Another awesome Traitor Marine-tutorial!
The power armour of Hakanor's Reavers looks like lava-rock with fiery cracks all over it. I guess it would be very fun to paint it :)
@GirlPainting Hakanor is a particular Warhost of Chaos Space Marines. They appear in the Codex right next to the Alpha Legion back in the model display section.
@Warhammer40kWarGamer preheresy alpha legion are purplish blue with their icon in green and post heresy Alpha Legion are blue with silver trim, a hit of green here and there and their symbol in green.
He means Hakanor's Reavers, it's a small chapter, with very cool colours
@GirlPainting Hakanor Reavers (or something like that) are a renegade warband, you can see their colours if the current CSM codex.
I'm not a big fan of the usage of GW paints, but, I can't argue against their foundation and washes. Washes, no problem, foundation, a little pricey but amazing... but, I can't argue with the results you get. Always fantastic.
Also, for varnishes. Like, gloss, satin, matte, etc, when applying with a brush, what do you dilute it with and how do you know it's well applied?
Watching these, you're really tempting me to get a box'o'chaos just to follow them, they look epic.
Which sucks, because I also have to keep building my 'nid army. >_
@Nikolas Weston Pro tip: fuck off.
When i mix the first foundation(mordian blue + necron abys) I get an almost black type of blue.
Do i need to use Shadow grey instead of mordian Blue or am i just getting the mixture wrong?
I think he means Hakanor's Reavers. have a look, they have an impressive colour scheme.
Could i use codex grey and bleached bone for the horns?
you are excellent, miss.. shit, i may even learn to paint after 17 years of Warhammering..
Hi Alexandra!
I want to know IF you can make a video on how to paint Thousand Sons of Tzeentch, I already got 2 units of Rubic/Thousand Son units, Khorne Beserkers, and 1 Defiler which I will paint in the colors of Tzeentch/Rubic Marines. Reply! ^.^
you paint in wonderful way....marry me :D
will you paint Hakanor space marines?
12:28 WTF is that sound??? You inspired mi to start pinting warhammers.
the follen angels and alpha legion will look just great i dont know for the world eaters
@summifu i've been trying to make her painting them since the black legion tut
Could you do thousand sons chaos space marines tutorial ?
When can we see some of the work you have done for you sponsor? I love most of this model but i don't like the scales very much. When I can think of a better way to paint them I will get back to you. Until then I will accept this is the best way to do them and I am just not a fan of the alpha legion colors.
@GirlPainting alexandra, for good pics of the chaos renegades go in to games workshop.com then click 40k articles, then click painting and a list of different tutorials will show up and just click chaos renegades.
there you will find almost all the different chaos legions ;)
How about Thousand Sons?
will the real alpharius stand up?
@GirlPainting you'l find em in the gw website if you folow my instructions in the last comment
Lets now make an Alfa Legion!
@GirlPainting I think he's reffering to the chaos warband called "Hakanors Reavers"
Könntest du Vieleicht einen Thousand Sons Hexer in Termi-Rüstung-Bemalen? :)
@GirlPainting Well I didn't click the dislike button I just simply didn't click the like button XD
Yes, I agree that the Alphas hare the most harder legion to find material and sopecially paint schemes as their fluff says that they are saboteurs and they work more from the shadows.
I've seen the old color scheme (my favorite as I said), the 4th edition one (too much green >__>), and one that was more of a turquoise and that had battle damage like the one on your weathering video.
@RaageQuit hehe yep :P
They are more of a greenish colour with a blue tinge
More of a royal purple, but there are several interpretations of them being a more blue-ish color.
@GirlPainting hakanor's reavers. only THE coolest chaos marines ever :) please?
Hakanor Reavers.
@GirlPainting Really? Only Water? Hmm, alright, that'll help me out a lot. Thanks.
Such die seite Lexicanum auf und gib dann "Hakanors Schlächter" ein, bitteschön.
well I have to say I didn't like this video Alexandra.
I didn't like a bit the scales and the blue was far too bright. Then again I like the 3rd edition color scheme which is a deeper purpulish blue tone (abyss blue was the brightest part) with silver trim.
Also I would have liked to see a more defined silver, with a pit more shadows.
Just my preferences.
30:28... Did I hear that the horns were... Horny... Well then.
Alpha legion arnt blue...
AngooseHart they were at the beginning till they were changed to light-reactive blue-green. two colours in one, symbolizing the legions innate duality. pretty much post-heresy. the color might not be made at home, tho some special car colors might be like that.
also Im pretty sure they are good guys with true alliance to the Emperor but always been even more secret than grey knights that come later. some sort of double agent legion. Emperor him self created them for that purpose with unknown ends. but Im sure they are not a traitor legion that they seem to be. tho only Emperor alone knows and that secret is just one of many that he takes to the grave.
MrAnimepredator K then. I still prefer them not blue :3
If you want pre-heresy, simply don't paint the scales.
It'll be too colorfull in my opinion :/
Jesus Christ mate, go and do some dead lifts or squats to get some testosterone running in your system 😂
But with all seriousness your models are awesome 👍
