Marmalade - Rainbow - introduced by Lulu & Mamma Cass Elliot - 1970.wmv

- There are a few versions of this already posted - but nice to see the intro with Lulu & Mama Cass - also the apparent "camaraderie" at the end between "wee Marie Lawrie" and her fellow Glaswegians!
"Bad hair day" for Pat & Junior ( they look like Hinge & Brackett!) -- mind you, wee Marie's doesn't look too clever either -- but hey, it's the 1970's! (only just).
Slightly sad though to see this, as Cass left us just a few years later, when she died in London ... shame .............
Enjoy while you can - I expect the copyright police will pounce soon and take all this stuff off!
regards Nimmie - Hudba
Marmalade, probably one of the greatest and most underrated bands of the era. What a beautiful voice.
BadFinger take that accolade
Agreed
I agree completely !!!
@@snotmale no they don`t
@@ericrabaey2889 wrong.....
Yes, I adore Marmalade......they had a totally distinctive sound, thanks largely to Dean Ford's angelic lead vocals......RIP DEAN
These guys were so good, definitely never got the credit they deserved.
My favorite of Marmalade’s singles. Writing this a couple days after Dean Ford passed away at age 72. Dean co-wrote this with fellow band member Junior Campbell.
Such a beautiful voice. Rest In Peace Dean.
And playing and singing live saw it first time around on tv.
It is very hard to accept that one of the heroes of your youth is no longer with us. R.I.P.. Dean and thanks for the lovely music you left with us.
So right x
RIP Dean Ford,such a lovely voice.🙏😥
just imagine - a rock bond with a base fiddle(and harmonica). How great is this? How great were the Marmalade!
For a group that was underrated they came on over the years singing many great brilliant fantastic real true talent songs.
Im a 1960s Child and from when i started to take in and love the many songs of Marmalade.
Im one of there many idolised loved fans world wide that is.
This is a group who didnt waste no time performing.
There idolised and loved world wide over from many vast amounts of screaming fans of many ages and nations.
The performed to every full house show with not an empty seat in the autatourium theatre.
There songs sold into millions all over the world.
Crouds of screaming fans waited in lines of long queues to see this fabulous brilliant great fantastic group.
They performed well or not at all.
And from when they first started all those many yeas back.
There songs are still played and idolised loved world wide over.
Its now the year 2023.
And there is those who thought Marmalade wouldn't accomplish achieve there main goal ambition to success.
That shows and proves there poor lack knowledge understanding of what real true talent singers is and about.
This song was out when i was just a very bright young Boy Child with Childhood at age 8. Another classic song that was underrated.
Lulu, Cass and Marmalade all on one stage. WOW! Wish I could have been there.
Love the harmonies on this song. Love Dean's hair.
Yes Christine ,different times,eh?
this very handsome guy will be missed ,i have loved marmalade for decades there harmonies are utter joy ...such sad news rip a x for dean ,,,,,,,,
What talent! No synthesizers, Thanks from Chicago.
TIMELESS - LOVE DEAN'S VOICE ...
Marmalade were well under rated they produced some fabulous music, this one of their best. RIP Dean Ford and Pat Fairley.
Still one of my all time favourites --beautiful song with beautiful harmonies. Thanks for posting
Rip to all the best singers that already have died in this world , best songs are from the old past . 2021 period
"Rainbow" should've been as huge of a hit as "Reflections Of My Life" for Marmalade. Under-the-radar gem
in America.
It was it reached the same chart position of number 3
On the vinyl single that I used to have this was the b-side to Reflections
I love this beautiful song!
Now it's so sad to see the talented Dean Ford singing and playing the harmonica...R.I.P. Dean...
Marmalade, Love Affair, The Tremeloes Masterpiece's of Nostalgia Music.

Marmalades Decca output(1969-1972) was superbly crafted and beautifully sung.
Beautiful voice!

Fantastic song and great singer mr Dean Ford r.i.p.
Wow, never heard this before. Just looking through the list of top 30 from 1970, and up pops this great tune! Love it!
Good x
Such a precious and forever beautiful tune. The Marmalade to my ears was always the best of The Best! They write, play sing and harmonize so wondrously together that I can’t help but to think this was some kind of magic between them. BEST❤️

Nothing live about it, unfortunately.
@@capothree YES, it's LIVE!! The released, engineered(they all are) song had him at a slightly higher voice. Do research.
So sad to hear of Dean Ford's death. R.I.P.
I met Dean when he was living in St. John's way and one great guy. RIP Dean. God Bless you

@@kevthedynamo Thank you very much for telling me... Feel so sad now.. Dean seemed such a genuine guy.. 😭😭😭
Dean Ford
Exquisite voice
You should treat your friend to a session listening to them one day. He will soon find out that it is you that has taste. They oozed talent.
The best band to come out of Glasgow 👍😃
Oh. The memories and so sad to hear of Deans passing...he is now up in heaven singing with all the BEST that passed before him. Can you imagine the jammin these awesome talented people are doing? Hope they have my Daddy playing the piano for them 👍🏻. He even loved my eras music, watching him play rock n roll for me was so badass...he was a jazz musician 🎼🎼🎼
Although these fellows were from scotland...here they look like they just showed up from some Arkansas town...and. now bewildered to be on stage..deer caught in the headlights..but luv them...🇨🇦🇨🇦
us scots love country music we had more cowboys than Texas......................in fact we have a glasgow band called Texas
Saudade da minha adolescência! 😍
Another Glasgow Group who did good, well done guys.
Bought this record when it was released 50 years ago, just rediscovered it on the tube and now can’t get the damn thing out of my brain.
This song got me thru a very tough year--living on Chicago & Rush Streets in Chicago, with a hormone-driven law student as a room-mate.
RIP Deano you legend x
Con este video lo amé a los 50 años. No sabia quien cantaba esta cancion. Vivira en mi corazon siempre...
So many memories flood through my mind when I hear this song, watched them sing this song in about 1973 at Fagans in Manchester.
A fantastic band of my youth, so many great songs from the late Dean Ford...
LINDO E MARAVILHOSO,
DEAN FORD. R.I.P
WOW. Holy Fkn WOW. I had never heard this song until 3 minutes ago.
Oh My God! Where have you been?? In Jupter??
This is one of my all time favourites alongside Reflections of My Life ❤💛💚
Shantyl you have great taste, how good were marmalade?
no, this could not be America or Bread, these guys have a lighter touch altogether. Airy tender Brit pop with no hint of mush! lovely!
Great band & brilliant song! Thank you!
Graham Knight was so cute x
Great tune. Deserved to do a lot better.
PURE MUSIC _ PURE CLASS
Jessie Webster It's never too late to discover good music . . . I keep finding all the time!! Enjoy it all!

voz maravilhosa!
Glasgow is full of talent....love it, thanks for this, as a fellow Glasweigan fae the East End im very proud of everything from this magnificent City.
Jimmy Dewar left us too soon
Hit it rite on the heid !! XXC
Yes a few bands but London, Birmingham, Liverpool , probably Edinburgh produced double or tripe the amount of music
Great vid, memories come flooding back first loves etc, nothing can match your first love and great tunes.
Dean ford should be singing these days, he has a superb voice.....
What a lot of talent in that group. My good friend and musical collaborator persists in believing that Marmalade were no good. He should watch this and it will surely change his mind. Dean Ford had one of the best voices of the late sixties/early seventies pop groups, and Rainbow was such a wonderful single (with a wonderful 'B'side too, the "Ballad of Cherry Flavor").
I agree with you but it was not only Dean Ford. Campbell was a very special musician.
Junior Campbell had a couple of solo hits, then wrote the music for Thomas The Tank Engine in the 80s!
Top band and so under rated.
An incredible song! Thank you for this!
RIP Dean, you were the man: xxx
Absolutely brilliant, despite 1970s clobber.
Such an underrated group.
So much talent ❤😮
Great Vocals/Harmonies! Should have gone to the USA! They would have been HUGE!! (CSNY!!)
Essa música é muito boa fiquei conhecendo esse ano 2022 e me apaixonei 🥰
Dean Ford, a pessoa que canta e toca a gaita, faleceu. O outro sucesso deles conhecido aqui no Brazil foi a musica " reflections of my life"
Brings back so many good memories
R.I.P. part of my teenage
My favorite song
Just love the Robinsons Gollywog (on the drums) and when we bring it back it will do the world for race relations.,
And we are now painting Rainbows on our windows 50 years later !!!! Brilliant track great group
I always liked this song better than Reflections, maybe because of the harmonies. They never really hit it big, but America became quite successful with a very similar style of music a few years later.
They had 11 hits? that's pretty big in the UK?
this guy AND band were awesome. RIP dean Ford 🙏✌️
Una de las mejores bandas escocesas, de los 70's, ( los originales )
los originales?
Lindo dimas Deam Ford ele deixou muita saudades em.nossos corações ❤❤ 😢24/8/2019

And just to stare at the purest joy and warmth they show while performing on stage together! A beautiful moment here to behold.

What's Graham Knight doing...playing Tambor instead of Bass..?
