I didn't really know who Dean Ford was until recently. I had grown up with the song and last year downloaded it to my phone and then saw the videos and especially touching video of him singing it with Clips being shown of him as he was when he released the song and over years previously. Wonderful gift to us!

I was 11 when “Reflections Of My Life” came out. It’s one of those, almost rare, songs that you instantly love the very first time you hear it, and before the midpoint! I’m 61 now. I’ve referred back to it when life treats you a certain way. “Reflections” will never go away cause it’s a perfect storm of the emotion the music brings and the lyrics that totally complement the personality of the music. I have a music degree so I can hear the very purposeful perfect storm. What a fantastic voice he had. An amazing skilled songwriter. I’m just now finding so much Dean Ford I had no idea of. The 2014 version of Reflection, WOW! That cello is so sweet! RIP Mr. Dean Ford.

Very well said. I had never heard this song until about a year ago. I’m so sorry I missed this beautiful gut wrenching song. Dean’s voice is so full of emotion. He has a rare talent of reaching your core like very few songs do. The version of this song when he sings with his older self leaves me in tears ever time I hear it. God bless you Mr. Ford. Your music lives on in the hearts of so many people.

I can’t stop playing ‘reflections ‘ since I stumbled on it just a few short weeks ago. It’s just got that special sincerity and real to life feel that gets your full attention. How extra special it was to just learn he was from Glasgow U.K. my current home town. I’m also very pleased that his person was as genuine as his stage persona.

Nací a principios de esa maravillosa decada de los 60s, soy el menor de seis hermanos y crecí escuchando ésta inolvidable e incomparable musica de grupos como; The Unión Gap, The Shocking Blue, The Animals, Mamas & Papas, Tree Dog Night, Led Zepelin, Rare Heart, Status Quo, The Roling Stones, The Turtles, Electric Flag, Jethro Tull, The Doors, Chicago y desde luego The Marmalade entre muchos otros más, pues el mayor de mis hermanos fue tecladista del grupo The Soul Company que en esos años amenizaban las tardeadas en Tiberio's en Acapulco, Gro.
No imaginé volver a escucharla, pero gracias a la tecnología hoy día podemos revivir esos años maravillosos.
Disculpe la juventud actual, pero no habrá mejor música, en toda la extensión de la palabra, que la de estas decadas; 60s, 70s y buena parte de 80s.

Thank you for sharing this. I was very sad to hear of Dean's passing in December of 2018. His 2014 Reflections remake brings tears to my eyes everytime I hear it. The words are very touching. Growing up in the 60s and 70s, it reminds of those good times and how much I miss them. It reminds me of my parents, sisters and other family and friends that have passed and how much I truly miss them. I think I've always found it difficult to deal with death. I probably always will. But at the moment I'm puzzled as to why the currently 24 people chose to give this posting a thumbs down or dislike?

Oh ! This just makes my heart cry. Didn't know until now Monday in the dark of the early, morning 03:22 A.M. May 13 ,2019. I remember him as a young man. .My Dear God, in Heaven time fly's for us all. Please make sure to settle up with Jesus Christ and accept him as Lord and Savior before it's too late. While you are alive then it's not too late. After you die there is no going back. The biggest blasphemy to God is for us to reject his Son ,Jesus Christ. That sin can never be forgiven because death has already claimed you.

I stumbled across this by accident. A beautiful floral tribute there and I cannot believe Dean is in that coffin...or casket as they say in America. I wonder if any of the other members of Marmalade were at his funeral. Pat Fairley lives in America...Reflections played on the guitar brings tears to my eyes. God bless you Dean. Sympathies to his daughter Tracey, grandson Connor and all friends and other family members. I saw Marmalade when I was 13. I am now 64. Rest easy Dean.

I have never been able to bring myself to go to a funeral.It hurts me to much to say goodbye.I was brought up to never cry because it shows weekness.I still feel the pain! I just don't show it.I had a dream that all my dead friends were in a room with me and I told them all that I thought you were dead and we were talking and it was so realistic and just when I was telling them that I was so happy to see them all,I woke up and never got the words out to tell them I loved them.I stayed in my bed and cried for the first time since I was a child.It hurt so bad and I wished it was true but it was just a bad dream.
