- A fitting tribute to Dean from the great Ken Bruce ……
twas difficult piecing this together … very … but it helped … sort of…
Can't believe Ken’s final comment at the very end....
‘never imagined in a million years I’d ever hear that…
surreal …..
In 1964 (am 76) some of the boys and myself got on a bus in George Square, Glasgow which took us to Luss, a village by Loch Lomond to see Dean Ford and the Gaylords support The Moody Blues...the place was jumping... and it was Dean and the Gaylords we'd come to see...they were one of Glasgow's best bands...(and there were more than a few great Glasgow bands back then)...they were brilliant and almost needless to say they blew The Moody Blues off the stage...they made TMBs sound average...never forgot that night....RIP Dean (Tommy).
im a 73 years old female who as been in love with marmalade since there beginning ...dean had a fabulous voice his songs were all stunning marmalade had wonderful harmonies ,,such genius guys .i am so sorry dean passed away ,,,he will remain in my heart until eternity rip you lovely bloke xxlol
I truly hope that Dean knows just how much he is loved and missed by so many people. Rest easy Mr Ford😢
Fantastic tribute.
Well said Jane ... truly one of a kind ... sad loss.
I'm a 66 year old female and Marmalade are tge soundtrack to my grammar schooldays. Loved Dean x ❤
How on earth this has'nt hit 1,000,000 likes is beyond my comprehension... What a beautiful voice - What a brilliant song.... RIP Dean...
....because a lot of the younger generation don't know great singing/good music , this was out when I was just 3 years of age but I grew up in the 70,s/80,s when was music was great , so I appreciate great music .
Because Ken is about the only proper dj left on prime time radio. Just look st the ignorant dross on Radio2 now.
Have been a fan of The Marmalade since the 1960's, "Reflections" has to be one of the greatest songs ever recorded, but Rainbow is not far behind. Thanks for the memories Dean & Junior.
This is my funeral song.Just a great song with a great message.
Absolutely love The Marmalade they were really good this song is timeless and Dean Fords voice ❤
ROML is one of my all time favourite songs. Marmalade were in my humble opinion, THE greatest band to ever come out of Scotland. RIP Dean.
Absolute poetry of a voice. I grew up in the 60's & 70's listening to fantastic music as it was then. RIP Dean.
One of the greatest songs ever written and sung! I was so saddened to hear this news. Had a lump in my throat all day. R.I.P. Dean Ford. You blessed so many with such great talent.
Vastly underrated band, forever remembered. RIP Dean
Great band we went to Cromer links saw them a lot rip
Always thought they were better than the beatles.
It's a super song.
Got it to my son who thinks the same and plays it on his guitar.
It was only after marmalade had left the scene that I got into their music.
Dean had a brilliant voice and I came to appreciate J.C. music skills.
Great stuff that will never leave me
What a fantastic track, one of the greatest of all time in popular music!
This song hits hard. What a lovely tribute to Dean Ford from Bruce.
I'm a wee bit too young for Marmalades older stuff but over these past couple of years I've got right into them and the musicianship is outstanding. Ken Bruce has real empathy here and you can hear how genuine his tribute to Dean is. Him and Johnny Walker are the two djs there I listen to now....sad to say Radio 2s gone right downhill over the past 18 months or so. However this is a post to Dean and thank you for the fantastic music you and Marmalade gifted us with. All of the members past and present gave us so many great songs which will never be surpassed. God bless you all and thank you from everyone who still keeps your music to the forefront of our minds. Love and blessings xxxx
Very sad News! Reflections of My Life was a tremendous success in my country in the seventies. For sure there is no people of my age, then boys and girls who hadn't had this song in their playlists, recorded on cassette tapes! Recently I came to a vídeo here on CZcams where Dean Ford performed the song in a new and touching arrangement. So very beautiful, that I watched many times. RIP Tomas McAleese, aka Dean Ford for millions of fans all over the world.
On my play list. I've listened to it nearly every day for several years . It never gets old . I didn't even know he'd passed ,and it makes me sad . Rest in Peace , Dean.
thank you ... Dean would have loved your typo
@@JuniorCampbellmusic Thanks Junior
Dear Junior, my deepest sympathy to you and all Dean's friends and family - Tracey and Connor especially. Thank you for posting this lovely tribute. This song is beautifully crafted by you both. That tour you were on with Gene Pitney was 1st time I saw Marmalade, I was 14. Bought all the singles, to skint for LP's. Dean's voice so melodic and the harmonies are fantastic. Always a place in my heart for Dean and a new star twinkles in the sky. Forever.
Great ,great, song.brill.😭💁♂️
The 1st marmalade song I heard when I was in a pub about 1968 /9 was baby make it soon after that became a fan a great voice will be missed
Great guitar tone , fantastic bass and superb vocals. One of the best ever
One of the most beautiful songs of all time... I love it.
R.I.P Dean.
Junior & Dean created a musical Master Peace Forever. Thank you.
Dean Ford great voice and song
Beautiful, meaningful, masterpiece of a song. Very special to me. Thank you, Dean.
Our very humble man has found a huge stage to say his farewell. The applause is astounding. Take a bow wee man. xxx
This has been one of my favorite songs since i first heard it when i was 13. I listen to it a lot. Thank you for posting this here. Brilliant songwriting. I am 67 now and reflect on many things about my life. How you both had the vision to write such a prolific song is truly impressive.
A beautiful song, great vocals by Dean and Junior's wonderful guitar solo. Superb. Ken is the best presenter on radio, he has a real passion for music.
So sad, he had a great voice, we are loosing a lot of the greats of the 60s, that’s depressing......
Absolutely a great song! Dean had such a a great voice too and a brilliant songwriter!!!! RIP Dean!
I only recently found them through Johnny Walker and forgot but instantly remember how good this band were - was gutted to hear Tommy /Dean had left the planet
고인의 명복을 빕니다.이렇게 한 세대가 저물어 감을 느끼며 좋은 노래 만들고 불러주어 감사합니다.
Yes, RIP. I did remember Marmalade, but I didn't, at the time, put a name to the lead voice. I came to Dean Ford in a roundabout way: through the song, "What Goes Up, Must Come Down" from Pyramid by the Alan Parsons Project. He was lead singer on that track. That was a great song and Ford added that extra, oomph to the vocals, along with the unusual and eerie harmonies. That was my favourite album of those by The Alan Parsons Project. Most men's vocals get really scratchy in the later years, but ford's seemed to last well to the end.
One of the greatest voices to be heard. Dean, you are missed.
I Wish I Would Have Had The Opportunity To Have Met You Before You Left Us. R.I.P. Mr. Ford. You Will Be Missed.
absolutely loved marmalade in the late 60s and early 70s grew up with them as a teenager.the perfect record reflections..play it all the time in my playlist.rip dean
Loved Marmalade , so many memories flood back when I hear their songs . Dean Ford ooh man could you sing .
what a sad loss, fantastic singer and great song
Working in Linlithgow and living in digs at Grangemouth when I first heard ‘Cousin Norman’ introduced by Noel Edmonds on Radio 1. Loved the Marmalade in my youth and still do.
RIP Dean Ford. You'll be forever in my heart.
Have a eternal rest in heaven with the most beautiful song.
Sir Dean Ford !
A song that still haunts me to this day having been a young man of 17 when Dean's song came out. A young man with Vietnam standing in the near distant and a horrible time to be 18 in America. Reflections of my Life was a song that I embraced. Thank you Dean. I hope you are having a discussion with the thief on the cross right now in paradise.
What a song we can all say it's a great song. But we should just listen and let the song say it because it says a lot more than we can say brill 👍👍👍👍
Thanks great song
I'm 72 years old and I'm crying
Having a bad day..... I have lung failure & was given a about 5 more months to live before they completely fail. I was researching information on Right to Die w/dignity in my state & stumbled upon this instead. It was perfect ! I want scream this song from the roof in hopes that my voice is heard. Thank you both Dean Ford & Junior Campbell for making 5 minutes of this old life a little joyous.
It breaks my heart to think of Dean driving those other stars around in los angeles...i only learned if it through his obituaries...sad and unfair. Such touching music always from Dean. Its true the world is a bad place.......
well don't think of it Felix ... was just a phase ... an over reported headline grabbing phase .... he left some terrific stuff as a legacy that will go on .... those of us who knew him know the rest is just piffle
I hear you and thanks. Philadelphia freedom all time fave too.....
@@felixfelix7447 hallelujah !!
@@JuniorCampbellmusic i know i know it.. 😂
Still listening. Still reflecting.
One of my favourite tracks of all time and at 66years I have many,
Didn't realise that he had passed. This song is just timeless. Wonderful music, great leader.
So poignant, so sad but so fondly remembered. Thank you Dean my friend and thank you Junior. Wonderful music by a wonderful group of people.
I have only recently rediscovered Dean Ford's familiar, dulcet voice from my youth. That which comes purely from deep within an honest, kind, and unpretentious heart... so much so, it makes me feel as if I may have known him in a much less complicated past life. We can only wish that you knew how many lives you really touched in so many ways. I know that God has blessed you, so rest easy Thomas McAleese
.
So sorry to hear about Dean's passing. His remake of Reflections with Joe Tansin is one of my favorites, and Glasgow Road. The Reflections album by Marmalade is one of my all time favorites. I love every song. Thanks for sharing this tribute, Junior!
Tom Gurecki a
Also Glasgow Road with Joe Tansin - utterly brilliant.
Junior: Just a personal note of thanks for this and all your work, and condolences on your loss. Our loss, as well. The only words I can offer is that Tom (Dean) is there on stage waiting for us, and what a concert heaven will have!
Thanks Jim ... absolutely....
Marmalade are great! I love JC guitar solos on this and I See The Rain Again. What kind of fuzz box was that great sound! RIP Dean a great musician
Always a favorite song and band to me. Thanks for your story 😢
Thanks for the music Junior, and for sharing your memories.
I'm so sorry for your loss. It breaks my heart and I didn't even
know Dean personally. God bless and keep you and your family
always. I wish Dean's family peace in the midst of great sorrow.
"Dean is not gone forever, he is just away." ~kk~ As a believer, he
is now forever young...our loss is Heaven's gain...God Is Good...
You, with Marmalade made us great moments R.I.P Dean
Never heard of these guys before and showed up in my recommendations. Excellent.
You may have recently passed but your Name & music will live on for ever
A perfect record. Great Song. Wonderful soulful vocals marvellous guitar and a wonderful arrangement. Alan and Graham are spot on too. Sad to see such a talent pass away.
You would know just to look at a picture of Dean that he was a lovely person.
Thank you Junior. This song was played many times during my teens with my first "love". She's recently passed away. I will never forget this song or my first love.
A true 'classic' tune ! How wonderful to be remembered for a 'Masterpiece' like "Reflections of My Life".
No words, only tears~still ;-(
You too Rose
When I was in Jr. High, it was Dean's voice I heard on the radio with that jarring, very Gnostic observation: "The world is a bad place; a very bad place to live...but I don't wanna die." Now he's gone. Junior, our best wishes are with you, and may your memories of Dean always be warm.
A wonderful voice from a lovely man, the world was a better place because of you Dean lad. 🏴
love this record and Dean Ford a star bring back the 60is
Reflections of my life >> wonderful! Dean >> RIP!
Thank you Junior bless your aching heart
God bless Dean Ford what a voice RIP.
A beautiful tribute Junior I got to hear Reflections of my life and Rollin my thing early in life when my Dad mended a boiler for one of you guys and you gave him this single when he left that’s the only two songs that I know and love but I’ve just ordered a Cd of The Marmalade so that’s coming on Friday-my Birthday so sad to hear about Dean what a beautiful voice he had R.I.P. Dean
Well done Junior. It can't have been easy, and thank you Ken Bruce for the tribute to a great man. And as for Scotlands National newspaper the "Sunday Post" , not a mention. Not one word! They should hang their heads in shame. R.I.P. Dean, and thanks for everything.
tell them Brian ... tell them ... thanks
Rip Dean thanks for the memories
Excellent, voice, excellent song, thank you Dean for all. RIP FRIEND
Junior...if it helps...find comfort in your faith and know you'll see Dean again. Sounds like Dean went through some difficult times in his life over the years, but ultimately found his way with his faith. God Bless You.
Rip Dean another great musician we have lost

From the round house to a America. What a band. What a singer
I'm sorry for your loss. I still play and sing this song in my little show. God Blesses us with Gifts and Love.
Esse grupo era tudo de bom... Eu amava curtir suas músicas... Hoje tenho 55 anos, e ainda não esqueço e ainda continuo curtindo...
Fortaleza - Brasil
A wonderful tribute to a wonderful vocalist and writer,i was there from Lovin' things until Radancer, loving all of their songs very much The world is a sadder place without him.
Hi Junior ,Have not seen you in years. I was lead singer in the Rockets from East Kilbride 1963-1966. Played with you and Dean on many Gigs, Neilston. Coatdike, Stamperland Clarkston halls , and many more. You and Dean gave us all inspiration and we always thought you were the best band to come out of Scotland.Lets all get together in Glasgow and do a tribute to Dean. Peace and love Dean you will never be forgotten. Thanks Junior for such a lovely tribute xx
Thanks beautiful Dean and RIP. And thanks to you for share with us
Eternas Saudades! Tinha apenas 7 anos quando Reflections of my Life foi lançada e a canção tocou minha alma. Ainda hoje canto ela e sempre fará parte de meu repertório! Merecida e linda homenagem!!
I am so sad to hear this news! Dean Ford had one of the best voices right up to the end. May he rest in peace!!!
You guys were so underrated Junior. Your cover songs were better then the original bands own renditions. I watch The Marmalade vidoes all the time along with a cd in my car. I often wish Dean was still with the band. He had an amazing voice and as a left hander myself wish i could play guitar like you. You make it look so easy. The Marmalde lives forever
Too profound the WORDS of this TUNE. Take care and BE SAFER AT HOME. Many thanks Again and Again.
Great voice, great band, great song, great loss ...Gd Bless

This song, though beautiful, always made me sad...Now it's sadder for me. RIP Dean!
One hell off abandon with the one and only mr Dean Ford the marmalade front man fantastic and brilliant singer.
A fitting tribute to Dean. Thanks for the music sir 👏🏻
Thanks Junior for this....those vocal harmonies you had together....timeless
Dean was great, but I don't think the background singers were ever given enough credit. They were simply awesome. This is one of my favorite songs of that era.
Beautiful song ever. So very peaceful
More meaningful than ever in the times we now live. 🇬🇧
Just now found out. This is tragic.Dean...I first heard Reflections on R2 late night '87....driving home in my Midget. From that first listen, the song stays with me every day.God bless you ...a true LEGEND. My thoughts and condolences to all...love,peace from North Wales xxxx
