The Mist Movie Reaction First Time Watching - ZĂĄbava
The ending is one of the most shocking and controversial in Horror film history.
Itâs a close second to Sleepaway Camp for me
Honestly think this movie accurately depicts how people would react in a situation like this. People nowadays canât stick together for more than 5 minutes

I watched this in theaters too without any context really. I think I I only seen a tv teaser or something but after I watched it, I was flabbergasted.

And yet she ends up making it out alive! I love that, because if they had came with her they mightâve been able to live too.
I saw this in theaters and when I tell you it was so quiet after the father killed everyone. It was DEAD SILENT. I loved this movie since itâs realistic. Not everyone gets a happy ending in stories
Interesting thing about this film, the original ending by Stephen King ended with the group staying at an abandoned motel and a radio signal tells them there hope of a town they can get to. So when this movie premiered even Stephen King was shocked by the ending that he congratulated the director and the team for changing the ending.
I love your excitement over The Walking Dead characters. The reason you see multiple actors from The Walking Dead in the movie is because The Mist was written and directed by Frank Darabont, which is the same guy who developed the TV show! He was also involved with executive producing the first season and the first half of season 2 of the show.
Didnât TWD totally fuck Frank over and fire him and thatâs why the show started falling off?
I watched this movie when I was pretty young, the last scene BROKE me, I sobbed for a good hour bruh lmaoo. The song at the end didn't help either
It has several Walking Dead actors because of Frank Darabont. He likes to reuse really good , but lesser known actors.

Stephen King is really great in getting our attention in these crazy horror movies. The Mist is such a classic especially the ending
The movie ending is not King's though, it's Darabont but King did love it more than his own.
This movie is my favorite because itâs so realistic about how people would react to a situation like this, great reaction btw !
The writing in this movie... every character feels so real.
The âvampireâ military dude actually played a vampire lol, in a shower called being human. It was pretty decent. Also this movie was craaazy and it showed pretty well how people would react in crisis situations, glad you liked it! Canât wait to see more reactions đđ

I was just about to comment this very thing. Glad I checked to see if anyone else did first.
Sam Witwer has been in a lot of stuff. From BSG - He came close to killing Callie, but was sadly stopped before he could pull the trigger - to Dexter - funny thing about that is he was in the same season as Mark Pellegrino, who played, amongst many other things, Bishop in Being human.
He's also done a TON of voice acting for Star Wars games and animated series. Dude has voiced Maul, Palpatine AND Starkiller.
I'm not 100% sure, but I've heard that Stephen King absolutely *loved* the movie ending and was genuinely upset (in a good way) that he hadn't come up with it himself
King has a knack for writing mediocre stories that then get turned into excellent movies by great directors.

@@ahoyforsenchou7288 Even more appropriately, it's also a running joke (that was even acknowledged in IT chapter 2 via his self-insert character) that he never knows how to end something. Specifically fixing the ending is pretty standard for a King adaptation lol
The funny thing about the religious lady is that everything she said came true, right down to sacrificing the boy. It's a neat detail that you have to think back on.
Between that and the allegory of The Green Mile, I'm wondering just how many of his books have religious undertones.
@@that.ll_do_pig king loves to include religion (and how it can be used for evil) in a lot of his stories. The Stand is almost entirely about religion, and is also heavily apocalyptic like this one.
This film was very depressing and that man is gonna have PTSD for the rest of his life. Great film in general and great reaction.
I love this movie. The fact that it had the balls to go with the wtf/sad ending, was amazing. Plus some bonus stuffs: The "vampire" military guy plays Starkiller in The Force Unleashed games and has a twitch channel where he plays mainly star wars games.
This movie is considered a part of The Thing universe or at least the H.P. Lovecraft universe - Might be why you got the cthulhu vibe from the monsters.

Single most devastating ending Iâve ever seen in a movie. Destroys me every time.
I remember the religious lady came to my elementary school a few yrs after this movie came out and was super sweet but I could NOT shed the fact that her character was as intense and scary as she was.
Thomas Jane was originally going to play Rick but an injury or prior engagement kept him from filming the pilot and thus we got Andrew Lincoln
I particularly like Stephen King because he portays people in a very realistic, raw way. People in his books are often characterized more by their flaws and human nature rather than being romanticized or overly heroic. He makes ugly interesting.

Actually the main actor in the movie was suppose to play Rick Grimes originally and he looks close to the comics aswell

The ending to this movie has blew my mind since I was like 8 and that last scene was more powerful then most entire full movies today sadly
The main character Thomas Jane is also in the walking dead. He played the zombie in the tank that Rick shot in episode one
David and her friends should have found hope when they saw the giant creature at the end of the film, because this creature is called "Behemoth", the Behemoth is a creature from the Bible and it is said that when it roars, it means that peace and quiet will soon return...

I know you rated the CGI poorly, but i suggest watching the directors cut, it originally was supposed to be in black and white as an homage to creature features from the 50's and 60's, so they didnt invest anywhere near the budget into CGI as they could have.

The vampire played a vampire on the American version of Being Human. He also played the tank zombie in the first season of The Walking Dead. That character had a whole backstory while he was alive that got cut. And Thomas Jane would have been rick if HBO had bought the show but they passed. By the time AMC greenlit it he wasn't available. Same director as the first season of TWD before they stupidly fired him. Now think about this. Was Mrs. Carmody right? The mist cleared when the blood of the boy was spilled. EXPIATION!

I've seen this movie a million times and the ending still fucks me up.. If he waited 5 mins... Shit less than that!! I wouldn't have been able to live on after that shit!! Good reaction video Mike!!
I think though with the way sounds are deadened a bit in heavy fog or mist, that the rumble of all those trucks, even moving slowly, would still have been loud enough to hear when they were so close to them. But it makes for a great shock ending :)

I love this movie. A lot of people hate the ending but that's the point, it has such a massive impact. I agree with the monster CGI being poor quality and unfortunately it puts a lot of people off who now watch it for the first time. I think this would probably be an epic movie to reboot as long as they don't massively screw it up like they did in the Mist tv series (they completely changed the concept of what the mist is and it was terrible, cancelled after 1 season).
I've read the book and in many ways it's a lot better (as with most of Stephen Kings work). The entire thing isn't as much a monster movie but a social commentary on the problems with human nature and society. The book ending is much different and very open ended. Stephen King himself says the movie ending is much better.
That ending with the music ⊠I legit did not move from where I sat when I watched this the first time.
I NEVER noticed all the walking dead cast members til you mentioned itđ I def noticed the neighbor being from Brooklyn 99 though. The ending had me crying because I loved the little kidđ
The director of The Mist is Frank Darabont who also helped develop the walking dead and was an executive producer hence all the familiar faces.

There's two additional Walking Dead actors in here. The "vampire" military guy who got thrown out of the store played the zombie inside the tank in episode 1, season 1 that Rick killed. The other was the hispanic military guy that hung himself in the backroom. He played Morales in TWD, which is the guy in the first season who takes his family and goes to Birmingham right before Rick and the group get to the CDC.
Dude, that movie is from frank darabont, the creator of the walking dead tv show. Thats why youz have dale, andreand carol in it. dale is also in every movie from darabont. like the green mile, shawshank redemption and so on...

I was shocked at the walking dead cast too! But Frank darabondt, who directed this movie, was also the original director of TWD so it makes sense.
Plus Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile; 2 actor cross overs in this one.

honestly Stephan king makes the best books to make into movies just fcked up, creepy and plot twist everywhere lol he really keeps you on the screen and literally EVERYBODY hated the ending but not everything is happy especially in this movie they don't leave room for a happy ending

There's a fourth Walking Dead cast member in there, if you go back and look. The guy who played Morales (from S1 and a brief cameo in S8) is one of the two soldiers who opt-out in the stockroom.
This movie should be called âOneâ. This is one of my favorites.
I love this movie and Steven King we had a storm like this once luckily no aliens but a tornado hit a grocery store and we were trapped for almost a day.
That got crazy. Definitely missed this one.

I loved this film đ the though ending was so gut wrenching and sad I cried my ass off cause I wanted them to make it then all of a sudden he kills his friends and son and all of a sudden the military came....I was literally like ' Are U F***ING SERIOUS!? WHERE THE F*** WERE YALL AT THE WHOLE DAMN TIMEđąđ€Ź!?' I still cry when I watch it just the ending song made it so powerful and u just feel that sense of theres no hope no light ur basically screwedđđđ. I think the ending to this film caught alot of people off guard no one expected it and if anyone's read the book they drive off but in the film they did that scene omg I was gut wrenched crying and I could not speak đą đ
Highly highly recommend reading this book. Itâs one of Kingâs short stories. Only about 175 pages or so. But itâs my all time favorite Stephen King books. It has a much different ending, though I believe King wanted the ending that occurred in the movie, but the publishers advised against it

Saw this in theaters as a kid before I knew who Stephen King was. When it got to the part where it showed it was in Maine it scared the crap out of me (Lived in maine). Will never forget this movie.
Iâve only ever seen the ending, because its like in every top 10 twist ending list. So I just never bothered watching it or donât even look at the screen when other people are watching.

There are few actresses that can do what MGH (Marcia Gay Harden) did in this film - Navigate someone who affirms our beliefs or we think is bats$it. Considering the actual circumstances in the film, both may be right. It's a fine line, and MGH navigated it superbly. She won the Academy Award for Pollack (a spectacular character performance).
Fun fact but the CGI is so bad because the movie wasn't originally meant to be in color. It was intended to be black and white but was later changed because the studio worried people wouldn't go see it if it was in black and white. In black and white the CGI isn't terrible but man the color did not do it justice at all.
There are only 2 kinds of reactions for this movie. One is this; and the other one is Nikki and Stevens. No middle ground!
