  • I take a ride on my Honda XR650L Dual Sport motorcycle to Elm Hill Hose Company Number 3 in Plymouth Pennsylvania. I am with my friend Pete who is riding a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-7R. You will see the fire department, a cool fire engine, and some really awesome Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

What a great ride out Mark. I remember that pothole lol. I love the sound of that 650 single. It reminded me of my old Honda XL. I had to smile when Pete dropped the rev bomb under that bridge. I had a little test ryde yesterday and FINALLY I’ve sorted out the mic issue so there’s gonna be a very big improvement in audio quality coming up very soon. I loved the Harley with the tribal flames. Although I would have to change out the bars for a set of wide bars like you see on vintage Harleys and Indians. But that’s the joy of customisation. Great to see you guys out enjoying your beautiful area. Ride Safe Brother. Your friend, George. 🙏🏻

I can't wait to see your next video and hear you in glorious surround sound. I had to put the rev bomb in lol. Sounded so cool.
I need the lower bars myself when it comes to the Harleys. Old man back lmao.
I am glad that you enjoy the videos George. Stay safe my friend and have fun.

Awesome bikes!!. As soon as this virus clears, I'm going to probably get a Xr650l. I'm just going to get it new. The Wr250r is a close 2nd. As soon as I get it, I am going to get the TM-40 carb. I hear it completely changes the bike.

You will love the Honda XR650L. I bought mine about 3 weeks ago with 4100 miles for $3500. I love it so far. It's a 2009. I have to look into the TM-40 carb. Thanks for the suggestion. I am glad that you enjoyed the video. I usually release a new video every Wednesday.

@@budyser365 Great! I definitely subbed :). The TM-40 carb is $400 on ebay, but its well worth it i hear. I talked a long time to a motorcycle mechanic who knows a lot about the XR and Honda. He talked to me about misconceptions concerning the XR. According to him, many claim the XR is set so lean from the factory that it causes the engine to fail around 10k miles in. Many people believe that modding the engine is priority for the operation and well-being of the bike. He said this is BS. Most XR engines fail because people neglect to check oil often and don't do proper maintenance. (Check oil often, i hear it gets low quick, especially riding on interstate). According to him, some owners did studies on the bike showing it was actually on the rich side from stock. Another misconception is that de -smoging the XR improves performance. According to him and several others, de smoging only reduces weight. This is not my opinions or understandings, just sharing what I have heard. I have did my research on XR mods, like Dave's mods, and I discovered its like 50/50. Some claim that it improved the bike while the other half claimed not much of a difference. Some actually said the bike had trouble idling and staring after messing with carb. Since I'm buying new, I just plan to get the TM-40 and keep the stock carb as is. I did learn that the front sprocket is a must to change out. Thanks again, I'll be watching.

@@Dawgs241 Thanks for the advice and subbing. Mine was heavily modded. I kind of wish it was stock. The last owner desmogged, rejetted the carb and put on a slip on exhaust. He also did a battery mod where it uses a small gel battery under the seat. It runs very well after it warms up. About 10 minutes to properly warm up. It starts well but idles funny for about 5 minutes. Can't take the choke off or it stalls. I hear that is normal though. Once warmed up, you can't stop it. Amazing bike. I just wish I had a stock one to compare it too. It was in perfect condition though. The only issue was a bent front brake lever.

@@budyser365 i took a trip to dealer today and saw a Xr up close. I was unable to sit on it the way they had it at shop, but my gosh! That bike is tall. I'm 6'0 with 32 inch inseam and I really don't think I'll be able to get on it without a ladder...😆

@@Dawgs241 I am 6 foot 2 and it could be a little tough to get on but once you sit on it, it lowers quite a bit. You really have to sit on it to get a good idea. It feels heavy when you first start riding it but you get used to it quick and start plowing over stuff in the woods lol.
