- My wife takes the Can-am Ryker 3-wheel endorsement test at the Department of Motor Vehicles. You will see the full motorcycle license test from beginning to end. This is the test that you will take on the Can-am Ryker, Spyder, Polaris Slingshot, or any three wheeled motorcycle in Pennsylvania.

It's not about the actual figure 8, it's about knowing you have control over the motorcycle if you had to swerve or turn quickly.

Congratulations 🎉 I just bought a used 2021 can am Ryker and I love it. I got my permit two weeks ago. Next month I take a two course at a community college and get my license. 🥰 excited but nervous. One day I hope to ride a two wheel manual but in the meantime I’m going to enjoy my Ryker!

My wife sent an e-mail to Penn DOT about the how the test they give for 3 wheelers isn't really any good because it doesn't test you on any thing you might encounter while actually riding, they are researching what she said and will be calling her in a few days.
I took the Motorcycle Safety academy 3 wheel course last year, and the test I had to pass to pass that course was a slalom, panic braking, tight turns, and sudden turns it took about 10 minutes for each person in the class to take the test.
The best part of the video is seeing you with the helmet cam, riding through the industrial area.💯 No disrespect to you wife. I’m also happy for her. 💪🏾💯

My wife just took the test for the Ryker in Dunmore and didn't pass because they don't know what to test them on. She was the first one to test on a Ryker there. they had her do figure 8 but in the same box as the larger bike which isn't big enough. Now she is just going to take the class from the state
Sorry to hear that. Have her go to the Hanover Industrial Park DMV. They really know what they are doing.
She will have to renew her permit before she can schedule a test there so she might just wait for the class the state offers
Also failed in Dunmore on the fig 8. They told me 40×45, which is impossible. This woman was given 60 which is doable.

this is great!! I am 4 11, and tried 2 wheels with out success. I am looking to get a Ryker in the spring. I am built just like her, and I can see I will fit just fine!!!
Annie, you will love it. The handlebars and footpegs are fully adjustable without tools. A short rider and very tall rider can ride with ease.

This was great I'm going to schedule my test here in the Poconos snydersville mv. I put it off for two summers just doing permits but now it's time. This was helpful. I should go to Wilkes Barre only 35 mind away and less crowded then I back to Two Jack's where I bought my ryker from.

I'm planning to take my test at the York County DMV on Friday 7/24 and I have a Can Am F3 LTD. There was no way to indicate when scheduling that it is going to be on a Trike. How did you deal with that? When you got there? Were they pretty cool about the whole thing? Seems like they were. How much road experience did your she have before taking the test?

My MSF course is scheduled for October 2nd thru 4th. The Rykers and Spyders may ultimately be what I have to go with, I'll just have to see. Also, the 4th will be my 54th birthday, my endorsement will be a nice Happy Birthday to me. God Bless - Rob

Hi, Did you make the yellow stripe on your Ryker? Looks good. I may be getting a Ryker and would consider that stripe in orange or yellow, maybe even white. If you made it how much are you charging for one? Thanks, Bill
Hi Bill. I do make the stripes. I don't sell them on my Etsy shop because they are really awkward to ship. They are also a little hard to apply to the scaly plastic of the Ryker because the install area is not smooth and they are a little hard to get started. YEA!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!! I am still debating if I go for a Ryker 900 or a Spyder F3-T.
Thank you. The Ryker 900 is a great solo riding machine. So much fun and power. If you are riding 2-up, I recommend the Rally because the suspension is so much better and it includes the Max Mount and a bunch of other accessories. If you are riding 2-up and your combined weight is over 440 pounds get the F3. If you plan on touring get the F3. For everthing else the Ryker is an amazing motorcycle.

My husband and I are getting the Ryker 900 in the near future, hopefully nxt year. This will be my FIRST time owning a motor bike. My husband has a motorcycle license before I met him so he's ok but me...I'm going for it...uh nxt year hopefully.

Sorry you failed. My wife did have a really easy test. I trained her in parking lots until she got comfortable. You got this.

My wife justed laughed and shook her head at the happy dance. She is a good sport. She is just happy the test is over. I am proud of her. She came a long way. She never rode a motorcycle and didn't even know how the throttle worked. Now we ride a few times a week. It is a great escape for both of us especially in these hard times.

I thought she failed too because i thought she was suppose to stop at the point where she made a left turn.
Here in western Canada you do an actual 45 min road test. They follow you in a car and give you turn by turn instructions.

I can see why some states do not require a special license. What gets me is , if you cross over into a state that does require one...and u get pulled , what then?
How does she feel on the back of your ryker as a passenger. My wife is about the same size and never has been on a motorcycle let alone on the back of the ryker. Is the seat comfy with the handles? I am considering getting a ryker and I want her to feel confident on the back and comfortable while riding. Thanks
My wife is very comfortable. Get the Rally Edition. It is much better for 2-up riding because of the much better suspension. It also comes with the max mount. The Ryker Rally is very safe and stable. It won't let you roll it because of the stability and traction control. One of the safest motorcycles I have owned. A lot of fun and a lot of power.
Where in PA did you take your test? they failed me in greensburg for figure 8s going outside of their tiny box. your test guy looked a lot more understanding
My wife took hers at the Hanover Industrial park location. The instructor is great and understands 3 wheelers. He even lets you do a few practice figure 8s ahead of time.

A quick question what kind of handle bars your wife got I also noticed that it’s raise higher as well
They are the stock 900 Rally handlebars. She has them pulled all the way towards her. She is only 4 foot 8 inches tall with short arms so they look taller lol.

I'm thinking about getting a can am. They're not very common in the UK, are they reliable ?
I have had some issues with mine, nothing serious. I have had a few antifreeze bottles leak but they recalled them. I have had a few issues with the brakes and some wiring issues.
Everything but the brakes was a recall. The reliability depends on the dealer putting them together.
I would recommend one if the dealer is good. The Rotax motor and transmission is bullet proof. Some of the Ryker feels cheap like the plastics.
I am happy with my Ryker and don't regret buying one. I also had one of the 1st Rykers produced. Mine is a 2019. They kicked most of the bugs out now.

In PA, if you have a motorcycle endorsement (two wheel), do you need another endorsement for a three-wheeler?
No. You are good to go. That is exact same thing that I have. Both are considered motorcycles.

When I bought mine they wouldn't even let me test drive it because I didn't have a motorcycle license so I bought it and then got on it and immediately drove it on the main highway in man it was scary 😂
They are definitely strange when allowing test driving. I couldn't test drive one either. I took a chance and I am glad that I did. I am really enjoying the Ryker.
@@budyser365 I love mine but I definitely feel like it's a lot harder to ride curvy back roads than a motorcycle It actually physically wears you out at least I do because I got a death grip on those handlebars taking those break neck turns lmao
@hillbillyluxury2691 I have a 2020 Suzuki Katana also. 2 wheels definitely performs better in the curves. I am 6 foot 2 inches and I found a trick to better handling. I put my handlebars all the way towards me and the foot pegs on 2. It makes a huge difference with handling.

No. 2 wheel license is enough.

It depends what state you are in. Every state has different requirements. Pennsylvania requires a motorcycle license.

@@mikeyb9189 In Pennsylvania, if you take your motorcycle test on a 2 wheeler, you can ride 2 or 3 wheel motorcycles. If you take your test on a 3 wheeler, you can only ride 3 wheeled motorcycles. Both are motorcycle licenses. The 3 wheel license has an endorsement that excludes 2 wheels.

Help me understand what's the point in doing a figure eight on a driver's test when you're not going to do a Figure 8 on the open road I'm just wondering though.
Doing a figure 8 shows complete control of your vehicle. I have seen many 2 wheel motorcycle drivers fall over doing this and 3 wheel drivers going way out of bounds causing them to fail.
