    I also live in Texas, and it's June now, and I am going to wait until October to test for my three-wheel endorsement. Thanks for this video - it helped.

    I took a similar course through a Company called “Balance Dynamics” in Walton, KY. These are a great introduction to a 3-wheel motorcycle. By no means are you going to be ready to hit the interstate after taking this course. This is simply to help you with the most basic skills so that can obtain your license (in a state that requires a separate license or endorsement). I continue to practice and expand on these skills before I consider hitting the interstate. I HIGHLY recommend a course like this for anyone not familiar with Can-Am bikes. It’s worth every penny.

      I completely agree! I spent a lot of time in empty lot practicing after this course before I was ready to hit the road. The interstate came much later 🤣

    So, it's a 3-part skills test:
    1.) Emergency stop (5:12)
    2.) Handling corners (4:49)
    And what's the third part of the test? I assume swerving? I'm curious because I'm doing the riding part of the 3-wheel MSF class this Sunday (June 5, 2022), just did the classroom part (June 2nd).
    I passed the regular 2-wheel motorcycle class last year and we were tested in 5 parts:
    1.) Emergency stop
    2.) Handling corners
    3.) Swerving
    4.) Cone weave
    5.) Turn from a stop, and then a U-turn
    Curious about the differences between the two classes before I take it. Thanks!

    Thanks for sharing this, and please dont take offense, but if that's the course and test, it's super simple in terms of not requiring any real training that couldn't be acquired through practicing on your own. The skill level required for two wheels far exceeds those for 3. I've been a motorcycle rider for years, just got the Ryker for my wife, I don't think as a competent rider there is much need for this class. What am I missing?

    • @urbandingo6882
      @urbandingo6882  Před 10 měsíci

      If you are experienced in 2 wheel, practicing on your own may be adequate. But for those of us who have never ridden a motorcycle before, this is very much needed 🤣

      Here in NY, the course is cheap and it is a great way to test drive the the Ryker/ Spyder and get the endorsement before making the purchase. If you decide to buy one, you get an insurance discount. I've seen this offered for as low as $99.

    • @urbandingo6882
      @urbandingo6882  Před 10 měsíci

      Here’s some good advice. Get an electric bicycle (or tricycle) with a throttle and get used to operating the throttle. Then go from there. I went from bicycle, to electric bicycle, to gas moped, and now I’m on a small motorcycle. And if you feel more comfy on 3 wheels that’s great - I just prefer 2

    How long does it take from getting the certification to getting it applied to your endorsement? Do you leave with your certificate, and go get it applied on the license the next day? Or do you have to wait on it to be mailed, etc?

    • @urbandingo6882
      @urbandingo6882  Před 8 měsíci

      I left the class with a certificate. In Texas, I made an appointment at DMV, showed them my certificate, paid, and got a new license with the endorsement on it the same day. So it depends on how quickly you can get to DMV😄🏍️💨

    • @urbandingo6882
      @urbandingo6882  Před 2 lety

      Apparently you are correct! 😃In California a class C license is enough to operate a 3 wheeled motorcycle (www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/handbook/motorcycle-handbook/license-requirements/). A motorcycle is so different from a car though, and you are so much more vulnerable to injury 😂 I would definitely encourage my California friends to take a class 😅

      Once you pass the course, they will issue you a certificate. You take that certificate to Texas Dept of Public Safety office (where they issue driver’s licenses) and exchange your driver’s license with one that has a 3 wheel endorsement on it. You will have to pay ~$45. No other test is needed to get this endorsement 😀
