Thank you so much; I'm old and weak from 11 years of cancer treatment.. My 2007 Suburban w/68000 miles developed a noise in the AC fan. I use to do all my own auto work because I liked it and i grew up in a Family own garage. I removed the fan motor with much aggravation depressing the tab and rotating, it took a while but I got it out. I vacuumed the screen above removing the trash and debris that was causing the fan noise. After a rest, I then reinstalled the fan motor, with much difficulty and determination. Got all back together after many tries to get it locked in, Tested, all worked well. Cleaned up, put away tools.Next day on my way to a Doctor appointment I drove the ten miles or so, was almost there when the fan motor fell out making a terrible noise. Turned the AC off. When I got home I relooked your video and proceeded to redo my work. This time with lots of struggle I got the thing LOCKED in. I know this is an easy job, but not for a weak old man. Thanks again; Dr. D

I suppose removal is a counterclockwise rotation if viewed from a passenger's foot perspective..;-)
But if considered from a mechanic's viewpoint above, the removal rotation is clockwise.

Great video. 2007 Suburban with 236k on the clock. Once the motor is down, try to spin the cage. If it spins freely, probably the motor. If it is tight, spin by hand to loosen it up. Once it spins free, turn it on. I did this twice to mine and it works fine. It gets stuck from dust and dirt if not used in awhile.

Pay attention as to how to drop the old blower down. Release tab& turn clockwise. Counter-clockwise to install. Mind the tab. Getting the new one in is a 'bear', but be patient and push up, one in proper position. Again, mind tab. Ben

If it's just making some racket but still working, you can spray some love into the small hole in the black plastic. Should take care of your issue. I used lithium grease into it with the tube that every can of lube has, and it took care of my issue. No need to replace it.
