    You could loosen the top 3 nuts from under the hood with an impact.
    Leave 1 nut on.
    Lift the truck and finish as shown.
    No need to fight with a wrench and fender well.

    This was great; I used it as a guide to replace the struts on my 2010 Suburban. This was, perhaps, one of the easiest suspension repairs I've ever made. It look less than an hour for both sides. Thanks for the video!

    Thanks for the video. Just wanted to add that if you are replacing your sway links at the same time...........take the sway links off first and put them on after you have the new struts in. That will llow you more travel room on the suspension flex to be able to align the bottom bolts of the struts to the control arm.

    is a Front end Alignment necessary after installing these? I really don't see why. Only thing I can see changing is possibly the ride height. But most everyone says you need an alignment after replacing struts. Thanks.

      +Patrick Laurel Yes you will need to have a front end alignment done if you replace the entire strut assemblies. www.1aauto.com

    • @NextGenTerminator
      @NextGenTerminator Před 6 lety +2

      Actually no you don't. The lower and upper control arms, which correlate to camber/caster have not been moved out of their original place. So your camber/caster angles will be the same. The same goes for toe angle, since the tie rod ends were not loosened or removed, the toe angle won't change.
      Typically, replacing sagging springs will fix misalignment issues. Me for example, I'm replacing the sagging springs on my mom's z71 because the sag is creating too much negative camber, and the insides of the tire tread (closer to the motor) are wearing faster than the outside.

      Did this replacement yesterday in no time with Jack stands and hand tools I will say that it is a good idea to check other things as well such as sway bar linkage, mine was shot so I had to send the wife out to pick some up, not a big deal. The video was a big help to me and also Nathan I didn't feel the need to have an alignment done. I did my test drive after and was amazed at the difference in ride and braking. I will be doing the rears next pay check.
