The greatest unintentionally funny movie ever made. I remember when it came out it was advertised as a super serious bad ass flick. An attempt to cash in on Swaze's newfound fame from Dirty Dancing. Over the years Ive enjoyed it for the fight sequences and the cheesy dialogue like "pain don't hurt", "be nice" and "opinions vary." Whenever it's on, I keep it on.
Understand the outside of the Double Douche was a prop and was dismantled after the final scenes. I guess the inside was all in a soundstage. The set looks like a real honky tonk (not that I frequent them -- going on what I've been told). The set builders of Hollywood are hardworking geniuses.
The bartender was played by John Doe from the band 'X' - at the end when you see him looking silly with the rifle it's because he's usually holding a bass. (Or guitar)

Speaking about Patrick Swayze's career movie critics only give a credit to Dirty Dancing, Ghost and Point Break ( in most case) but I don't agree - he had many other great films and Road House is one of them. It was really memorable film of late 80's and Patrick did a wonderful job. 1989 was full of underrated films - this one, Lock Up (with S.Stallone), The Punisher (with D.Lungren), True Blood (with Sherilyn Fenn) etc
