Also the only one that lived. Although in the scene where he rides away, I wondered how he rolled the throttle in a cast from wrist to shoulder. Steering must have been fun, too.

The band is still probably making only $100 a man..which I figure that was what Jeff Healey’s band was making back in the original…much hasn’t changed in the bar band business.
Does anyone know how much it costs to have a band like this play every day 12 hrs a day even during the day like this one does lol. No way in hell could they do it. 😂😂😂 And no way would any band like this even bigger to turn up lol. just another reason this movie just school on every level. I haven’t even got to the gurning McGregor. The director should be made to watch this film 5 times a day for the next year so he never ever ever does anything like this again.
The one thing I liked in this movie was that there was a different band every night. Original Roadhouse only could afford the one band. OTOH, are bands so desperate for gigs that they'd even play there?

Shot Caller is onw of very few Hollywood productions where the violence made me wince. Choreographed fights in the caroark seem tame by comparison - the shit they put that guy through was hardcore.
Are you referring to the film named "Shot Caller"? I remember some people were scuffling a few times, but I don't remember any strongly choreographed fights. Maybe I just haven't seen it in a long time.

@@actualamateur149 I was merely trying to contrast those violent scenes with what we've seen of Road House - there will always be a director who is told that their movie is too violent for ANY classification. I found Gangs of London unrelentingly violent - check out the Farmhouse scene and the first pub brawl.

I don't see this as a remake so much as a similar movie. Granted I was very skeptical but then I watched it and was happy with it. I'm a fan of both Patrick and Jake.
If they had brought a Sam Elliot character, brought in a Jeff Healey or have him drive in (and hide) and a nice car and keep spare tiresin his trunk I would have said remake.
There we so many differences I would just just say it's a high level concept remake if anything. A guy named Dalton who is a bouncer at a troubled bar.

I recently read a review and this person gave it a one star. Said it wasn't realistic because bouncers don't swing first. Although, in this story, this group terrorizes that bar and physically assaulted a bartender. These reviewers are a huge joke.

The original was good, but let's not pretend that it couldn't have been better. Patrick Swayze is a tiny guy compared to the size of real bouncers. A real life guy like him would have been slammed to the ground and beaten senseless. The original only worked because viewers let themselves suspend disbelief and root for the good guy and were excited about Patrick Swayze. It was a fun movie, but I was in high school when I saw it and had no idea how ridiculous it was in reality.

Let's be honest - Swayze wasn't the greatest actor. Take away Ghost and Dirty Dancing and there's a lot of crap. Of course, there's an even worse Swayze martial arts film - Steel Dawn.

the plot was bad, the dialogue was bad, the fight choreography was bad.....It might have been better if McGregor wasn't in it....he certainly didn't add anything....
