    Just pass a law that says that any officer involved in an illegal detainment must pay a $500 fine for their first infraction and $1,000 for each and every infraction thereafter and this will stop. Any and all officers involved in any infraction will have to pay their fines personally.

    The obsession with giving directives is a real issue, the supervisor literally just said "As long as you're not on the property you're fine" and he said "I never go on private property" but that last cop HAD to throw in the "they don't want you on their property" because it's an obsession

      That's not a cop thing, it's a human thing. Applying something that's universal to humans as if somehow just the police do that is deceiving. Can we keep this to what actually transpired? These officers made mistakes. But we can also be adults about it and agree to what actually happened.

      Seriously, I agree with you. But we must accept the consequences when something bad happens because the police walked away.
      The last thing I want is to be stopped by a police officer and be harassed when I've done nothing wrong. I was kicked out of the mall when I was 18 years old by an officer that must've confused me for someone else. He did not explained himself and he embarrassed me in front of other shoppers. Forced me to walk out of the mall. That actually occurred 30 years ago.

      But, they work and it gets you into the system. Most of these are dropped pretrial, and that sows what a shame the justice system is. This is called The Ride. You lose no matter what.
      Possibly the best video about pigs and their understanding of the petty stack charges on YT is the deposition in the "Settles" case. Lackluster, or his other channel, did this.
      "When did my client resist arrest?"
      While I was putting the cuffs on.
      "What were you arresting him for?"
      Resisting arrest.
      Did he resist before or after you handcuffed him?
      After.
      What did you arrest him for?
      Resisting Arrest, I told you.
      What crime had he committed for you to arrest him?
      Resisting arrest.
      Did he resist before you arrested him?
      No.
      Did he resist after you put the handcuffs on him?
      Yes.
      What did you arrest him for?
      YOU'RE CONFUSING ME.
      You're going to hear ignorance and incompetence from a cop that you won't believe. And this is normal and routine for them.

      I think the problem was that this auditor didn’t (and most auditors don’t) understand what an easement is. A utility easement doesn’t give you the right to be there. A utility easement gives the utility company the right to run their utilities and maintain their utilities. You can absolutely be trespassed from an easement.

      @@mroberts566 He was on the right of way along the road...which he does have the right to be. 33' from center line seems to be fairly common width, I think he said 23' or something. Regardless he clearly was on the edge of the road which IS legal. My property doesn't start till 15' from the back of the curb, no sidewalk. So it may look like people are walking on my yard/grass...but as long as they're within 15' of the curb there's NOT a darn thing that can legally be done. Even though most walk in the street. Many counties now have online GIS data website one can look up property lines. Many falsely believe if you're on their driveway 3' off the road, it's private...it's not regardless if you have to pay for it or maintain it.

      the sad part about ID is that its from the top->down, and by top: both the state and the feds want local cops to ID everyone they meet, which is why it has become soo widespread.

      On the other hand if your state is not Stop&ID no citizen has the obligation to identify unless there is probable cause

    I'm just waiting for the moment when good cops have had enough and start changing things for themselves and their departments when they start studying and recognizing the practices that they have been trained for our detrimental to our society.... I'm just waiting for them to start standing up and removing bad policing as a whole... I would very much hope that good cops don't quit their jobs that they stick it in and make changes removing these horrible infestations of its us against them mentality... Even though I might be a misanthrope I can still hope

      The only cops that will stop other cops from violating citizens rights, will be the ones who don't want to be saddled with the liability that comes with protecting a bad cop. Self interest is a strong motivator

    DO NOT say you will provide your ID under threat of arrest. You spent the entire video explaining the law, and what you did right or wrong. If you are 100% correct, stand your ground and do not provide ID. All the cops have to say is ill arrest you, and get your ID.

      If you do, you can pull the rug out from under them AND sue them because "under threat of arrest" is effectively being arrested for no crime.

      IF they threaten that, it's a violation if they have no authority to demand it. That gives you Standing to file on without going to jail and having to deal with that. Most of these auditors have educated themselves on what is needed to solicit from the officers to make an effective case. Most officers are so dumb the step in it nearly every time.

      You do not have to be arrested to get the same result, the threat of arrest is a violation of his 4th amendment rights. (Provided he hasn't committed a crime). No need to take the ride if you don't have to. Imo

      I watched a recent video of a kid walking down a dark street detained, accused by the cop of drinking, body cam footage of the two cops stating they didn't smell any alcohol, but he wouldn't identify and asserted his rights, was arrested and detained in jail , cameras there picked up threats to smash his face in and strap him in the chair by the supervising officer, after collecting and cataloging his property, they illegally searched and pulled out his ID, and released him something like 40 minutes later, but he never voluntarily gave up his identity the entire time. The jailer who threatened him and the female subordinate were both fired, and the department is being sued for multiple rights violations. You're exactly right, never give up your ID for an unlawful detention or arrest! They like to use term like "that's a direct order" which doesn't necessarily make it automatically lawful!

    Ive watched over 10,000 civil rights auditor videos in the last few years. I have learned that the actual Law plays no role in law enforcement. Explaining Rights to cops is like trying to teach quantum physics to a park bench.

    Smart dude. I am attorney in Montana. I got pulled over by a notorious local officer and I believe I owned him. He even knew I was an attorney and he still played the bad cop games. Unfortunately, every state and territory has “boba cops”. But there are good police officers. This cite is by a former law enforcement officer. Glad I stumbled onto the cite at the gym. Thank you.

    I don't watch many of these videos, but the ones I have seen have convinced me that cops need a serious block of training that teaches the Constitution and what cops cannot, must not ever do, with emphasis on the first and fourth amendments. If that were to happen, perhaps cops might get back some of the respect that they've lost , instead of earning the hate they've had heaped on them.

      Local ordinances are superseded by state laws, state laws are superseded by federal laws, all laws are superseded by the Constitution.
      Seems to me, all you need to learn is the Constitution, as it has supremacy over all other laws.

    Let me get this straight. The property owner committed a misdemeanor and the cops are not pursuing it, instead they're harrassing the one guy who has not done anything.
    .... Giving false statements to an officer of the law is most often a misdemeanor charge

      That's incorrect. Knowingly providing false information to the police is an offense if it is done for one of a number of reasons enumerated in the statute.
