Something I learned about bullies in school after 8 years of being bullied, was that they tend to be a lot less aggressive when someone snaps and kicks their teeth in.

You realize there is nothing to sue for, right? If you cause problems for a studio, they have every right to not bring you back for another season. There is no damage to character because she wrote the tweets that damaged her character. She could have had her own spin off show and all they asked was that she stop with the controversial tweets causing damage to Disney. But she did not. She was not discriminated against based on conservative views since plenty of Republicans work for Disney without issue. Even she knew she had to delete some of her offensive tweets. She's just embarrassing herself further and assuring that no studio will ever hire her. Disney had no choice but to distance themselves from the dumpster fire.

About time! I hope this sends a signal to all the creatives in Hollywood. That entire town runs on fear, I've seen it myself. Worked there for two years. Couldn't be happening to a more deserving company. I'm a screenwriter too, and Disney's internal DEI stuff is the death of creativity (I break this down from a screenwriting perspective).

Disney is a private corporation and as with all corporations can set their own standards for social media interactions. She was warned and offered a path forward and she refused so her contract wasn’t renewed.

I have taken multiple Disney cruises and had annual Disney passes for the entire family. A good portion of my pay has been spent on Disney products. For the past six years I have decided to not take any Disney cruises, not spend money on any of their theme parks and overall avoid Disney anything. If Elon took over Disney I would be beyond happy, and I would gladly get back to enjoying the Disney IP once that ship is course corrected.
Family has been begging me to go to Disney World. We will not go, ever, I put my foot down. Unless things noticeably change of course.

Statute of Limitations on libel is 1 year in California and in US Federal Court (where she filed the claim). She won’t win the defamation portion of her claim.
She won’t win the discrimination portion either because political ideology is not protected under human rights legislation. That’s why she’s framing it as a gender discrimination case, because that is protected, but everyone knows she wasn’t terminated due to being a woman, but because of her politics.
