Forgot to mention, I also made the wheels tubeless when changing the tires, and have also ordered drc motard footpegs to alleviate the ground clearance issue hopefully.
i just got mine the beginning of the summer. I did a delkevic exhaust and the yoshimoro fender eliminator. I also dumped mine trail riding lol went with pro taper bars and some risers. I absolutely love my KLX and I'm glad to hear most other people do as well. Cant wait to see everybody else's mods in a couple years!!
The DRZ400SM has more torque than the KLX also, not just horsepower. If Honda, Yamaha, or Kawasaki made a 400cc or 450cc Supermoto, I’d consider buying one. A fuel injection isn’t enough for me to want to take a step down in power from a DRZ400SM. The difference in weight isn’t much either. The KLX is 304 lbs and the DRZ is 319 lbs.
Appreciate the video. Been trying to figure out if I want to get the drz400(for the extra hp and torque) or the klx400( more modern looking and fuel injected). I’m not trying to race people I just need to get from point A to B and still hit some minor trails
2 months 3500 miles on it nice I thought since I almost put almost 1000 in a month if not that give or take lil more lil less on my drz I was going ham
They vary depending on the tire. I would use what's in the owners manual for the original tires. I liked 31 front 31 rear psi cold for my conti attack sm evos
Does it really make no sense to you? The bikes come tuned lean for emissions, even when completely stock. When you remove the lid completely and put a high flow air filter in, it becomes even leaner. Even before the exhaust, the tuner significantly improves throttle response and low-mid range power.
@@nathanbaeyens2856 I'm not saying opening up the airbox and make it leaner I know they come lean already I just thought if your going to tune it why not take off that heavy exhaust and cat and put a better flowing and lighter exhaust
@@dailylife3975 A full system saved exactly 2.5 pounds vs stock. I wouldn't really that was a lot of weight saved for 500 bucks. At the time, exhausts were still back ordered for months. Getting one was almost impossible.
Nice to see someone that actually rides their bike as it was intended. I am considering getting one soon.

Wishful thinking ! Maybe one. DAy
For bar vibrations, I got used truck wheel counterweights and jammed them in the ends. It really helps. Tire shops give them away.
Which Renthal bar did you go with?
Wait what!? I didnt see those front turn signals on the TST site when i got my tail tidy recently.

In the same boat.
Drz400sm vs klx300sm
Choose the drz
6 gears…….
You gotta ride it down here sometime with lemon man.
Bars that bend could actually be a good thing - they absorb the energy so that something more important doesn't bend...
Yup, i know because mine's triple clamp got bent and it's far more expensive 🤣

Thanks for the review. How much do you weigh?
160 geared up
What kind of tire pressures have you been riding on the twisties and what seems the best for this bike.
They vary depending on the tire. I would use what's in the owners manual for the original tires. I liked 31 front 31 rear psi cold for my conti attack sm evos
I gotta know where you got those front turn signals. I need those on mine.. Were they plug and play?
Tst industries. They are sort of plug and play. You have to cut the wires to the old ones, strip back some wire housing and crimp these new ones on.
@@nathanbaeyens2856 Did you snag them with a mount adapter kit? If so what one?
Do you know what brand the LED headlight is? Looking to upgrade my headlight to an LED and haven't found any great options.

@@nathanbaeyens2856 thank you!
I'd rather have a KLX than a DRZ, too. These are made in Thailand and we cannot get them here.
What kind of foot pegs are you running?
Looks stock without the rubber
How did you make the wheels tubeless?
3M sealing tape from amazon wrapped over the spokes and I screwed a valve stem in.
Why would you get the JK programmer and no exhaust that makes absolutely no sense cuz it doesn't do a whole lot without the exhaust and airbox

how often do you have to change the oil?
I do mine I guess every 1500-3k miles. 3K is probably a safe bet. Only holds a little more than a quart. 10 Dollar job.
How TF you hitting 100mph on that thing 😂😂 Mine tops out in the low 80's. EJK really make that big a difference?
I don't think the ejk makes any difference up top. Maybe my bike is broken in more, or im a smaller rider.

Wait that light allows u to turn it off?
