1000cc VS 300cc - Which Is More Fun?!

  • Ahhh the age old motorcycle displacement debate haha I know I've gotten a lot of questions lately asking me how I like the KLX300SM and I've gotta see these little bikes pack a punch and for the price they are an absolute blast! You can be a total hooligan, rip it offroad, just off curbs, and all sorts of things lol this bike is definitely a blast! I will say 600's 750's and 1000's all have their place in my heart as well. I mean come on, I still own my GSXR750 ;)

    Ahh the age old displacement debate, I’m sure this will trigger some people but I’m ok with that 😜😂
    No but in all honesty all bikes have their place, I’ve just found over the years that small bikes are definitely more fun in the city (my opinion) big bikes are more fun in the twisties, canyons, mountains, and track.
    What’s your opinion? 😄

    @greenmoto Před 2 lety +6

    I think you explained why a 300sm is a perfect bike!
    I just went from hooning streets to exploring offroad and was actually surprised how awesome it handled. These 300's are very versatile

    • @SALTxTHExWOUND
      @SALTxTHExWOUND  Před 2 lety

      Definitely versatile! I wouldn’t do half the things I do with it on my gsxr 😂

      i find myself exploring off road on mine much more often. the street tires do good on grass and hard pack dirt. just dont get them in mud or loose sand and its fun.

    Never even ridden a sport bike so it’s hard to compare. I love my klx300 though. First bike, i commute on it, rip around town, hit the track and all you have to do is change the oil. I’ll still probably get a 701 next year though just so comfortably get farther out of town. Really the only reason I want to upgrade.

    I've ridden medium sized cruisers, I currently have an MT-07, but when I took my rider's course, I was a bit disappointed at first when they put me on a dual sport. But I'll say, that little thing was a blast and a half.
    They're light and nimble and you can throw them into anything and just blast out of a corner. Sure, you're not going super fast but they're super enjoyable. It makes me want to get a small bike too. A small light bike like a dual sport seems way more instinctual that you can really throw it around and it'll take it, which helps people have more confidence when they move up to a larger bike.

    I have a KLX250sf and I’m not super fast but I’m faster than a couple of riding buddies with bigger bikes. They always talk about needing a certain displacement and I’m always reminding them its more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow

    Can't beat a small SUMO for comfortable fun in the urban jungle. Right now for me, it's a previous gen CBR1000RR for the remote twisties. Then a DR650 for everything else. The DR650 is too often overlooked, IMHO. You can pick one up used for a song. I lightened mine up significantly (plastic tank, titanium muffler, lithium battery, smog delete,...) and installed a pumper carb. 🤘 To me, my DR is like your KLX. So much practical fun for cheap! From running errands to exploring single track, I use it as my Swiss Army bike. 😎
    ❤❤❤

    Being a zx10r and a busa owner it feels overkill to pull out an inline four just to zip to the shop, with the price of gas nowdays, it just makes sense to leave your big bikes for the hiways and use a smaller bike for commuting while still enjoying the ride.

    • @SALTxTHExWOUND
      @SALTxTHExWOUND  Před 2 lety +1

      Absolutely! My gsxr750 only gets 32-35mpg and takes premium, my ranger gets 22-25mpg and takes regular, so I don’t save any money taking the gsxr lol

    Being a working man trying to survive I am hoping to one day be able to afford a second,
    "smaller" bike. Until then I will have to "suffer" with my ZX10R. 😁

    A lot of highway "blasters" actually enjoy circle track. Many guys have different bikes for different things such as yourself.
    Also, I agree with your comparison. After ripping around on a 14' YZ450f with moto wheels for many years, I've always said you need them all. My 450f felt crazy on the city streets but lacked the highway punch I had on my rockets. Just need them both! lol

    • @SALTxTHExWOUND
