- Jumpstarting your car has never been so easy! Check out this really cool vehicle accessory, the halo bolt jump starter, to get you out of a dead batter situation in no time. My mother-in-law gave this Halo Bolt to me as a gift for Christmas, and I had an impromptu opportunity to create this video on jumpstarting my minivan with the Halo Bolt. On New Years Eve, I went out for a couple of coffee's, and my car wouldn't start in the parking lot. I busted out the Halo Bolt, and wanted to share my experience with it since it has saved me a TON of time not having to mess with jumpstarting a car from another car, wait for a family member, auto club, or neighbor, or even ask a stranger to help jumpstart my vehicle.
Let me know what you think! - Jak na to + styl
After jump starting the car, how do you remove the device? Do you turn the car off, then take it off?
Simply disconnect it. No need to worry about order while putting it on or taking it off. For example, after attaching the unit, there’s a button you’d push before attempting to start the car. After the car starts, that button is no longer lit up thus no need on having to worry about order removal.
Kris Reese thanks Kris!
no problem!
@@theXchange I was wondering that same question since the removal step was completely not shown...only the removal of the cable clamps.
Lovely white leather interior! Glad you got to enjoy your coffee while it was still Hot! ☕
I live in the dorms at my college and this just saved me a ton of time and I didn’t have to ask anyone for a jump. Glad I kept it in my car :)
It is a time saver for sure!
my boyfriend left this in the back of my car. i kept trying to start it, kept pressing the power button. your video helped me with realizing to turn on the jump start button, not the power button to get it to work. thanks for getting me home quicker and not have to wait for my boyfriend to get off work to help!
Thanks for sharing! I’m glad the video helped get you on your way!
Very concise. Thank you for showing me how it works with out any extra nonsense.
Definitely! I figured if people are in a pinch they wouldn’t want any fluff! 👍🏻
You just saved me! I was going it wrong and called my emergency road side assistance than I said let me see if someone did a video on this. Sure enough, this one popped up. Guess I'm more a visual person! Thanks a lot!
Awesome!!! I’m glad this helped!
After having the Halo Bolt in my glovebox for 2 years (checking/topping off the charge periodically) I was stuck at the grocery store with a dead battery last week. The Halo Bolt started my car!
It’s a life saver. This thing has saved me so much time and money in waiting for a jump. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for sharing your experience with the HaloBolt. I just bought one.
You won’t regret the purchase!
Thank you! Just got one. As a female, I feel it is a MUST Have! And, can keep in car up to -5 degrees with minimal recharging. Which was my problem with other jump starters, I’m thankful for this little unit and brought it right away off of Qvc.
That’s great! These units are fantastic for the exact reasons you mention. Peace of mind is the best of these reasons!!
Not sure with what being a female has to do with it... it's something that needs to be in every car.
i love my halo , ive used it for friends and myself , works amazing and an extra security measure, i keep mine in glovebox fully charged🤙🏼
Same! All these years later, we have one in each car!
Thank you so much! I used mine for the first time today. I am so glad my mom got me one of these for Christmas!!
It’s a great gift!
Still have mine & have jumped numerous people's cars & SUVs & have barely had 2 charge the unit itself. One of the best investments 2 make.
I genuinely appreciate your help !!!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️🙌🏾💎
no problem!
I purchased one and loved this life saver device!!!
It is. We have two cars and one in each.
@@theXchange Yes my very thoughts. I'll get another one for my other car as well.👍🤗
I have had one for years it's a life saver👍
Thank you for the detailed video. I just jump started my son car that has been sitting.... saved me a call to AAA
What an inspiration!
Gracias Amigo. Si Funciona. Yo compré uno y me salvó. Saludos desde CDMX.
You’re welcome!
Great Video. Definitely Informative.. ✌🏾
I just used the Halo!! My first time ever jump starting a car and it worked!! Women!!! Buy it!!
Thank you for this!
sure thing!!
You really help me and my mom just now I didn’t know how to boast a car or jump some people say a car. We got it working 🙌🏽
awesome!
I am literally sitting in my car now as my halo charges my battery. It was pretty cold last night, so my battery took quite a hit
How do you let it charge?
@@amandas.4127 Wall outlet, actually. They give you a plug in the kit to charge it inside
@@andriab8517 oh sorry - I meant what did you mean “as my halo charges my battery.” Do you let it sit on the battery for awhile before trying to start your car?
I got one of these and also ordered the hard case
Video starts at 2:00
Thanks
Great video. I take this with when i drive my old classics
awesome! would love to see some pictures
@@theXchangeTy. I have some vids on my channel.
I watched the vids. Cool stuff!!
@@theXchange cool beans! Ty
It’s February 7,2022 just tried the Halo 😇 on my son’s coworkers car and it did just what he said it would do started soon as he turned the ignition switch
Boy I’m sooo glad 🙂 I have this Halo 😇
Thanks for info!
No problem!
Thank you
You’re welcome!
Dude, how ironic... I replaced two batteries last week. One in my sister’s car and one in my father’s car. The low temps can really drain them especially if they have some years on them. And I agree, everyone should have something like this with them especially in weather like we’re having. Good video!
Thanks!
Just got mine for father's day, I tried to charge my cell and after ten minutes this thing shuts off.
W t f dude I charged it last night. Woa sending it back.
bummer! Mine has been great. I used it a lot this past winter. If you exchange it, hopefully the next one will be better.
I used it, didn't work on the terminals, but it did work by placing the clamps just BEHIND the terminals on the wires or metal pieces attached to the wires.
interesting
So when it’s solid green and still won’t start is it smarter to leave it for a minute?
Thanks for this I am terrified to use this but your video is helpful. My mom bought this for me and never used is and I hope this works. I have the same model Halo so I keep you posted if this works hopefully I dont explode 😳
😂 You should be good 👍 There is safety built into the unit in case you happen to hook it up to the battery incorrectly.
Dope luv from brooknam
I pray to god this is my problem (a dead battery). My vehicle is fully unresponsive at his 3-4 week engine run check. The alternator may be to blame. 😭 I just got my Halo Bolt, this exact one, and in the morning me & my neighbor are going to try to limp it into the garage a couple blocks away. I’m praying so hard 🥹. I seriously appreciate you sharing this full tutorial. I’m nervous to do it when normally I’m not when I deal w/ my Nitro. It’s a 2008 SXT V6 3.0L Dodge Nitro. Electric Pearlized Blue auto body w/ black trim. 🚙 I even have my own emoji for it 😹
good luck!
@@theXchange Bruhhh! I lucked out! They told me months ago that it sounded like a dead alternator. Turns out the alternator works great. After owning my battery for 3 months it FRIED. It took 2 attempts with the Halo Bolt and it started all sluggish and then ran fine. Got it to the garage and this dude calls me all, “Your battery inside is FRIED! It smells horrible. The internal tilted and broke. I have no clue how you didn’t have a fire start!” The AC not working was at the exact same time the battery fried, it ran out of freon. I lucked out so hard. I had a bunch of other things done to get it ready for a trip. They’re not done though. They did the oil and the tires incorrectly 🤦🏻♂️😹
whoa!! glad it all worked out! That would have been a bad day! 😆
Thank you for this tutorial. Just tr is rd and nothing happens when i press the jump start button. I only have 2 bars. Im charging it up now and will try again. Hopefully it works 🤞. Rain is coming and my windows are stuck down ☹️
I hope it works out for ya!!
Yeah mine doesn’t stop clicking anymore 😒😞 when it clicks 3 times and is ready to jump...mine keeps clicking. Anybody else have this issue?
Mine just blinks then shuts off? Why is that
Thanks for the video, will it work on a dead car battery no lightx on console or auto?
I can’t say for certain, but if it’s “jumpable”, it’ll do so!
If i remember right it can throw out 500 amps so it should be able to jump most normal vehicles even with a completely dead battery. Would probably also jump some higher cranking amp vehicles if they still have a bit of a charge left.
Mine just started my car!! Love it!!
super easy, isn’t it!
Hi
great vid. how much juice was leftover after the jumpstart?
For me, I still had four bars. It’s not an immediate drain which is great because you may be able to get a few more jumps out of it should you need to turn off the cat for one reason or another before getting it to a place to have it checked or home safely. The battery indicator will also always show how much juice is left. They hold a charge for long periods of time throughout varying temperatures throughout the seasons.
Thank you! I’m a believer of this product. My battery died recently while camping and luckily someone had this device (which he kept stored for almost 8 months) and charged my car on the first crank. 👍
without a doubt, this thing works as advertised!
Not working for me right now idk y
What if the flashing green lights flash then it disappears even though everything is connected correctly? Mind you ive started it before with 2 green bara but today the bars just blink then shut off any advice?
a continuous flash usually indicates the halo bolt may be over heating, but that doesn’t seem to be your situation. Which model do you have?
I just bought this as I hate having to rely on someone to help me when my car battery dies... do u still recommend the product? Does the product hold its charge
Ours are still going strong since the posting of this video. It holds a charge for MONTHS although it’s always good to check it every couple of months.
I've had mine for 2 years, and it works great still. It holds a charge for months.
I'm about to use it today for the 4th time, but watching this 1st because I forget the proper order for attaching and unattaching the jumper cables. It does make a difference, as I unfortunately found out!
Last week, my new neighbor needed a jump on his big Ford F-250, and I think he was shocked when I brought this tiny thing over, but it started his truck right away!
My Halo Bolt is purple and paisley (hey, I love Prince, so why not?) and that alone got some raised eyebrows.
I love this thing, best $60 I've ever spent!
😂 That's a great story. I’ve had others comment how the Halo is capable of jumping heavier-duty vehicles. Thanks for the comment!
That’s awesome! I have mine too haven’t needed it for a Jump yet but glad it’s helped others out
I tried to use mine tonight but the green light was only solid for a few seconds before shutting off on its own. I had three bars. It did do the flashing check before the solid green. Does anyone else have this problem or that can help with this issue? Was it because I had three bars and not four?
I had a user once tell me their battery pack was at 3 bars and it would not start a car. It may depend…. I jumped my minivan multiple times without charging, so 🤷♂️
do you still recommend this product?
Absolutely. Now that I’ve owned one for a couple of years now, it easily withstands the temperature swings of summer, winter, spring, and fall; all the while maintaining its charge. Also, not only have my wife and I used ours for jumpstarting the car, we’ve had to use it to charge our cell phones, or the kids tablets on long toad trips. It’s worth owning one of these.
I tried using mine today and the light won't stay stolid green I tried it on the vehicle that did not want to start want to start so I put it on my own vehicle and it stayed solid green but when I put it on the other vehicle it won't stay solid green why
So there are a couple of things:
A pulsing green light indicates safety checks are in progress.
The HALO BOLT will allow 3 consecutive jump start attempts after each time you press the jump start button. You must allow up to 15 seconds between each jump start attempt. During the 15 seconds, the jump start button will flash green while the HALO BOLT performs its safety checks. Once the jump start button illuminates solid green, the HALO BOLT is ready for the next jump start attempt.
If the vehicle has not successfully started after turning the key (or pressing the engine start push button) 3 times, disconnect the jumper cables from the HALO BOLT and the vehicle battery and restart the process.
If the battery indicators are flashing green, that means the HALO BOLT has detected a high temperature condition. At that point, disconnect the HALO BOLT and allow it to cool for several minutes. Then try the jumpstart process again.
If, on the other hand, the HALO BOLT Jump Start button flashes green continuously, that means ehe HALO Bolt is waiting to be connected to a battery. Check the jumper cables and ensure they are properly connected to the battery.
When I tried to start it, the green light flickered like the video but never fully stayed on.
did the flickering stop while attempting to start the car?
I, helped my Nieghbor, out with
The Halo Bolt! !!!
Mine is fully charged but when I click the jump start button nothing happens and nothing lights up
did you get it figured out?
The jumpstart button blinks but then shuts off. Ideas? Is the battery ok but something else bad?
The troubleshooting docs states:
The HALO BOLT is not sufficiently charged to jumpstart the vehicle.
-or-
The HALO BOLT detects that it is connected to a vehicle battery that does not require a jump start. This could indicate that the vehicle battery or othercomponent is faulty.
I haven’t personally experienced the described behavior to otherwise give a better idea.
Thank you for the answer.
@robertlouisburns sure thing. I wish I had something more definitive for you!
Can it CHARGE a riding lawn mower battery?
It sure can
My jump start button not working
is it charged all the way)
Mine doesn't stay green..it just clicks off
Does it at least blink green first before clicking off?
Just tried mine, green light just flashed. Nothing . And its hooked up correctly
bummer! What’s up with that?
That’s why I’m here
is the halo fully charged?
@@theXchange it’s fixed. Worked great actually,
You think one of these will jump a Ram1500??
I found a user review that said it jumped their 2006 Ram 1500 - www.qvc.com/Halo-Bolt-Air-Car-Jump-Starter-%26-Air-Compressor-with-Accessories.product.E233749.html
With that said, the Halo likely would need to be FULLY charged. If you’re on 3 bars worth of battery due to using it to charge your cell phone or the like, it may not have enough to kick the Ram I suspect that would be the situation for any jump start pack, however.
@@theXchange I appreciate it!
I tried one on a neighbor's car and once it turned green and tried starting the car which it did and after disconnecting the cables the motor stopped
disconnecting the cables would not have caused the motor to stop running. Once the motor starts, the Halo turns off as it has done its job in jumping the battery. Try again as the battery may need more charging, or replacement depending on age of the battery.
That's because the alternator is bad... the battery only starts the vehicle, the alternator provides the power once it's running
Just hooked it up and didn’t do Jack squat. Left it hooked up a few mins thinking it’d need time to charge up. Still nothing. BULLSHIT!
Is the unit fully charged? What was the status indication of the Jump button?
never tied it on the car yet happy , but it would just about discharge after charging a kindle and a cell phone?hmm
It must be a faulty unit? I’d contact the vendor and I’m sure they’ll take care of you.
The green light on mine won't turn on :(
oh really? Is it old?
would it work if the car lights won’t even turn on?
It likely depends. If you hear the car attempt to turn over and (attempt to) start, then possibly it’ll work. I wouldn’t buy one of these to try and breathe life into a car that’s been sitting for a long time. Instead, I’d first attempt a more traditional jump. If it jumps, then great. Then spend the money to get one of these to jump yourself in a pinch. You’ll have peace of mind and can even use it inside the house in the event of a power outage.
Kris Reese okay thank you. i do have one. i’m away from home college and my car won’t start. (doesn’t even attempt to) and i was just wondering if it’s even worth trying to use this or not
gotcha. If you have one, it won’t hurt to try!
Kris Reese soooo it starts my car but alarm goes off and won’t turn off unless i turn off the car but then it won’t restart. lol sorry. i’m out of town and have no one to really help me
huh - odd that the alarm is sounding off. I assume you mean the car horn is what’s going off? Maybe try turning it off with the key fob?
Depending on the issue, you’re going to have to drive the car around in order to charge up the battery. It won’t charge much sitting idle for short period of time. At the very least, if the problem persists, you can drive it to the repair shop and avoid a tow charge if you don’t have a road side assistance like AAA.
My battery is dead and I just plugged it in to make sure it was fully charged. Tried to start but no go. Fortunately, my neighbor gave me a jump. Another useless thing in my trunk
Can you override this
override what?
If you already had the Halo with you, why would you even consider calling home?
for teenagers, it’s a good idea so parents can keep tabs on proper operability of the car. If the battery is going bad due to a failing cell, I’d want to know so my kid doesn’t get stranded one day when the battery is too shot to get jumped. Just one example!!! But it another context, no need to call when you can be on your way in no time!
I refuse to ask my boys or man to show me. I knew they would never let it go. After over an hour. I decided to look you up! I realize my ass did not press the "Jump start!" Duh! Lol
sweet! Love it. Glad you figured it all out!
Halo will not work if it's not charged at atleast 90%
What are "instructions"? Five points off of your man card. 🤪
😂
My Halo just failed me. The Jump Start button does nothing. No flashing green light, no solid green light. No response at all. Not a great way to learn you have a defective Halo.
aw man. bummer. How old is it?
@@theXchange a few months.
Maybe a year.
I’d call them. Let them know and hopefully they’ll do right by you.
Just buy a new battery lol
Why is this a 4 minute video
and your point is…???
Thanks
