Ford 8.8 Trac-Lok Clutch Inspection DIY

This is a take apart and inspection of the ford Trac-Lok clutches in the ford 8.8 axle that i'm building.

Doing the clutch inspection on the ford 8.8 you will run into 2 things which maybe difficult depending on your skill level. One is getting the Trac-lok spring in or out. The second is getting the spider gears out and in to get at the clutch packs.

Good video, thanks! Going to run the Trac-lok with new clutches in the rear and a HP30 up front with a Truetrac. 4.88's for my 2.5l TJ on 32's.

Nicely done Jerry.I did the same thing as you.I bought the Ford Racing clutch packs and was going to use the trac lok,but changed my mind .I am going with the Eaton true track.👍👍💪

Is it me or were the clutch pack discs not originally installed in the correct order? looks like there were 2 spacers together then the friction disc on both gear sides
