Jengar's game: lone bombers between 3000 and 4000 meters
My games: bombers at 4000 to 5000 meters constantly having at least one BF 109 that just so happens to be nearby which proceed to rip my plane to pieces
Also in jengars game you can count atleast 8 allies still up flying while there's only about 2 or 3 enemies on the map...when I spawn in there's about 15 enemies and 3 or 4 allies 🤯☠

Magnificent tutorial friend. I've been into this game for a while now but arcade seems to be harder than realistic for me. I could hit a plane 50 times with 8 .50 cals but never get a kill. This video about energy fighting and how to turn and when really helped me take advantage of the enemies position. :D

I first tried the game Sunday and had tons of beginners luck combined with matches full of other newbs so I was doing well averaging first or second on my team... Playing on weekdays when more of the experienced folks are playing, that's been humbling af. Monday I was getting slaughtered and the worst on the team but after watching tons of these vids I was able to at least scratch my way to the middle of the pack in my teams today... The moment a 109 gets near me I'm pretty well screwed though, they kick my ass every time lmao
Like anything in life, just have to put in the time to gain the experience and skills.

Great vid, I found it made sense and was very easy to follow. Just practicing some of the basic tips has already improved my game for the better. So much so In fact , that I’ve already changed my game name from canned meat to old man in a can. 😁 Happy days👍

Ping 42 also helps a lot in Lag thunder. and mouse aiming. i play on joystick and from virtual cockpit on arcade and is a different experience, a whole different game, i get 6 kills usually per match as i have to really position the plane, i mean on joystick you have to roll then pitch or yaw to aim, harder but far more rewarding than letting the instructorvto fly the plane were you point it. Keep the good work i always see your vids.

Great vid Jengar. Very informative. I would like to know more about your keyboard layout: you seem to be able to look behind you and below while you meneuver the plane at the same time. How do you do that? The C key disables other keys! Thanks always. You are our teacher.
The trick of that is that you activate the camera with the C key, take over camera control with the mouse and fly the plane with the keyboard mainly. it takes time to get it down, but its vital to become an accomplished pilot! :)

I think getting kills is extremely accustomed to getting used to your plane. I was getting two kills a match with this P51 at first, and a few weeks later I'm getting 8-10 a match.
Well of course, thats about mastering a plane, this tutorial is about basic concepts that will make you a better pilot in a general sense, and thus get you more kills.

vaskelos I started 6 or 7 months ago. And i can tell you that you will get through a world of pain when grinding. My tip is to play the Germans, British or Russians first, do not start with the americans, it is tempting but they cant turn, cant climb and have relatively weak guns (although the .50 cals have been buffed). Please, don't be a fool like me and do not start with the US, it's better for your mental health

vaskelos Well, Japanese planes are good indeed, but only from tier iii to tier iv. Besides that they have a huge repair bill, no topspeed, getting hit by a single bullet in the fuselage can mean certain death and they have crappy jets compared to the other nations. Stick with the Germans, but only if you have good nerves
All trees are competative, take your time, fly all 5 nations. know thy enemy ;) veriety is good for not burning out on the game.
Excellent video, as are your other video tutorials. I am new to War Thunder and watching your video tutorials is helping me a lot in learning how to play this game effectively. I am not sure if you have already done one, but I would be very interested to see a video on how you allocate your crew skills among your various planes.

You mentioned in your video that you have enabled camera zoom via RMB (right mouse button) when you are aiming at a target at close range. How were you able to do that, as my default zoom control is the Y key and the RMB is allocated by default to camera zoom: enemy. When I press the RMB in battle, it does not zoom in on the plane I am aiming at. I can't find anywhere in game controls to change the Y key to RMB for zooming. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)
its in there somewhere mate, the keybinds settings. I dont remember exactly where, but it is.

Very good informative video Jengar you just forgot to add it what distance you recommend from the enemy before you fire ?
at your convergence give or take 100m.
The lightning is very hard to aim with as the rudder and the elevator have different speeds esp in a dive. But its nose cannons has no convergence at long distance.

Does leading that far in front of the aim circle still apply in 2019? Or do you just have to do that because your convergence is 600-800 and the circle is spot on for 300? Also, do you use vertical targeting?

What the fuck did i just watch.
Now i lost confidence in myself
Have one up with 30 kills as well, which is still my record, and one with 27. But all these matches were flown more then 2 years ago. Matches generally lasted longer then. It was easier to get 20+ matches then ;)
Had an arcade match with 12 kills! Activated a be the best order and snagged that too. Made 30k off that game. First time getting double digits. Becoming more selective with my targets and being aware of what is near my target in means of backup.
I recently unlocked the p38. That and the p400 are my deadliest. Sbd-3 with cannons is amazing for shenanigans. I have a p40f as well 649 kph makes it's great for energy fighting. At the end of a dive I can hit 700+ pick off 1, maybe 2 and start gaining altitude at amazing speed, wide turn to reduce speed loss and repeat.

is this still good for present war thunder? Like when I aim in front of the aim indicator I land no hits, but when I shoot either right next to or on the aim indicator circle I always land hits? I'm very confused by that
maybe they changed the indicator. although the slower a plane goed the closer to the indicator you need to shoot.
please make tutorial video with Fw 190 A-5/U2 and show your control settings

You may have mentioned why you chose these planes (because of their speed) and consequently why you kept the fights vertical (because you where in fast planes). If you cherry pick good planes such as these it's very easy to get many kills. Even in sim battles these planes will excel (I haven't done an arcade battle for many years).
the concepts are true for all planes and all modes though. And i havnt flown mainly arcade for close to 3 years either.

So when I’m in fights with another plane I will lose it mostly for example I will be behind them and be shooting them but they will suddenly start dodging and go up behind me then I lose but when I try to up or dodge they just stay behind me and kill me and it’s really frustrating me

Kills in arcade? Two words: Japanese Planes.
all planes can perform in arcade if used correctly ;)
Zeros are amazing in arcade. You dive on your enemy and use flaps and you can make very tight turns.

Do you still play Arcade? Is it still needed to aim so far from the aiming circle?
i've moved over to RB years ago, but the aim hasnt changed. my arcade vids are still some of the more relevant out there, especially those two arcade tutorials.

600 for wingmounted guns, 800 for centrally mounted guns.

i havnt played any campaigns after the first 6 months i played, and i play about 7.5 years now.
when i have 10+ games I'm excited..i try to stay out of the furballs. just look for ppl who are easier to take on

I use a joystick cos i used to play star wars bf2 i enjoy the flyjng but my score is shite most of the time but ibwont change....but thanks fort he tips i see what you mean....id like to make.videos but im.pants...2 or 3 kills is good for me n extra bits whatever they may be.....doh!!!

Aiming is more difficult, approaches are more important as you'll have less room for error!
I have followed this step by step and do NOT have the same results. They always turn into me, causing me to over shoot and I end up getting shot down anyway after flying around for 15 mins and end up with one kill and three deaths
Then you're still making mistakes in execution, and probably in positioning and decisionmaking as well. give yourself time to improve.

Climb on a certain speed, not on degrees :)
So basically I need to climb at the angle where I still gain speed which honestly decreases above 3000m somehow
no, you need to find the optimal climbing speed for the plane you fly and adjust your climbing angle to keep that speed steady.
I will try that soon, trying to keep a steady 320ias
optimal speed is different per plane, just check the altitude meter to get an indication of sustained climbrate.
My most kills was 26 in the Russian i16 with the 20mm

sorry mate, this tutorial was made about a year and a half ago, would you excuse me if i'd say that i dont remember ;)
The matches last about 4-5 minutes 🤯 n you get 20+ consistently damn....thats 5 kills a minute...hell it takes me 1.5 minutes to climb to altitude then I got bout 2.5 3 minutes to fight....
try to train yourself to become more efficient.

Jengar Does the aiming before the reticle still apply tho?
Yes. At least for the Japanese fighters one of the easiest ways to waste all your ammo is to target the reticle!
Tip: Do not be fearful of other higher tiered planes. They are very killable.

ah righty, a pilot needs to always have the feeling that he or she is the hunter, even if you have someone on your six and 2 approaching from ahead. fear should never be in the picture, this should be ingrained in you.

depends on the nation and the caliber mate, and personal preference also comes into the picture.

Can someone achieve that many kills only using the joystick and not mouse aim?
more difficult, but boom and zooming can be pretty straightforwards. Once you loose the dominant position, in defensive maneuvers you'll be in the disadvantage more.

Most games I get o kills, and I get killed in all my planes. I watch all the videos, all the tutorials, nothing works, I am always put into matches against better people. I am so done with this game.
Let me first ask you what kind of computer are you playing on, and what kind of fps do you get? If your FPS is below 25 on a regular basis you're gimped by your pc performance and its not your fault alone. you dont see the opponents exactly where they are server side. I used to have that, i barely managed to get a 1 to 1 K/D ratio. when i bought a new pc and played WT again i instantly jumped to a 4 to 1 K/D ratio. If thats not an issue though then you need to look at yourself and your flying habits to identify the mistakes you make. If you want to improve that is. if you have normaleye-hand coordination and no other disabilities then unfortunately its about you making mistakes, and if you want to improve you have to be willing to look at that!
Jengar yea, but my FPS is not the problem, as I am usually over 100 FPS average on my gaming laptop. I just feel like I just don’t have enough discipline when it comes to engagements.
well, time to ask yourself why that is, if you want to improve in this game that is. challenging yourself is a good thing, it'll make you progress, not just in WT but also in life. Learn discipline in WT and you'll have learned it for other things as well! you have the ability to do well in WT, if you choose to do so.
I just want to say if you can't hit stuff with the p-51/Mustang Mk1a then quit this game. I am on ps4 and I rack up 7-11 kills almost every time.
+lance Premus It's an absolute beast in arcade lance, thats for sure :) but i've seen people do absolutely nothing with them in matches, and aiming remains the issue, if you dont lead correctly you will miss, even in this plane ;)

woooooo! people are dumb in 2015! no offence, but you see a lot more people climb these days up to 6000m, and bombers dive and maneuver we you are close. It's a lot more difficult to get 20+ kills now

I dont see how ppl are so amazed and were playing at like at a 4.0 BR....you had to do alot of grinding for a 4.0 5.0 p47 or p51 if you dont know these basic flying maneuvers, I have no idea how you got that 5.0 plane in the first place...it must have took you a very long time to get to that BR and alot of silver lions If you dont know basic flying skills....id expect at 4.0 and up most people know their planes and how they fly and certain combat maneuvers, but I guess they don't and this video 6 years old 🤯 and still ppl have no idea what they're doing...☠ wt is dead bc of the ppl who play it 🙄 change my mind
