    Positioning is such a pivotal part of having fun in WT. You don't need to clean house to enjoy yourself, but playing a plane to it's strengths just feels right. And besides, you've gotta know the rules before you can learn to break them responsibly. This will be a helpful video. Thank you!

    I think everyone who watches this video has already done something right. he informs himself and wants to learn something. many do not get any information at all, have no patience to learn and then say, the game sucks, I quit without thinking that it could be their own fault. Unfortunately, the game also leaves you very alone, as beginners only get a rudimentary explanation of something. What can my vehicle / aircraft do, what role should it play, how do I position myself on the map, what are opponents and fellow players doing, what does the minimap mean, which weapons are effective and which are not, what plan do I have in this battle, all of that you have to pay attention to everything. I'm a beginner myself, but I've played similar games, it's always the same thing that you have to consider, but many don't care. you can only advise everyone, people inform you, look at tutorials and reviews and learn new things! Not every bad match is the game's fault or the fellow players, who are all just cheaters, haha. no - ask yourself, did you really know what you were doing?

    Hey Jengar, Thank you so very much for the time you put in to these.
    You hit the nail right on the head for what I am struggling with when it comes to aviation.
    I've always tried to figure out how to position properly, you finally put THE word to what I was trying to wrap my brain around. How to appropriately figure out where to start...
    The other issue is, how do you choose the plane and know what to do with it. I`m still trying to figure out how to play the attacker type thing.
    A fighter, how do you know it`s a turner, does that mean a strong roll rate?
    Boom and Zoomer... energy fighter... there is such a slew of planes that I find it difficult to choose which plane to use...
    Take the BF 109 for instance, great energy retention, so I climb but now to master the maneuvers
    I`m also trying to figure out how to avoid that ever annoying ground when it decides to jump in front of my plane!!! hehehehe... while I'm keeping on eye on the plane trying to take me out (SA).. I`m watching your tutorials... again... Camera control with the mouse..
    I'm guessing I have to wrap my brain around that whole 4th dimension when flying... my position while I maneuver.
    Any tips would be good.. I'm in desperate need of tips and tricks.. I'll just keep watching your videos as my perception is slowly sinking in. Now I just have to remember it all with all the info. Nice to see it but it's in battle that I have implement what little knowledge I retain.
    I really need to get some Keyboard controls that work ... Muscle memory sometimes stops me though sometimes..
    Do you ever share yours?
    Cheers Brother!! Thanks again

    @5:56 A problem I have noted several times while trying to side-climb in some of the poorer climbing vehicles. Predominantly early P-51s or P-47s facing stiff Axis competition. I went through a period of strictly side-climbing to X altitude, only to find that before I ever go there, half or most of my team was gone. Before the recent MM changes, allied teams were always melting really early against 109/190 competition. Very hard to know that time when to strike so that you will not be the last one left versus 6-10 enemy fighters.

    • @synblades598
      @synblades598 Před 3 lety +2

      Let’s just say that side climbing is a very primitive tactic and very exploitable. Sorry to say that those p51 and p47 players need a deeper understanding of of the meta

    • @gabork5055
      @gabork5055 Před 3 lety +1

      It's not a good br. bracket to fly with US planes for a few reasons:
      1. Teams; They are often impatient and don't climb or just simply don't know their planes, they go, ground pound and die. Sometimes they are tank mains with no intention to even learn their planes.
      2. German planes are really strong at these br.-s, mainly the 109-s. The Focke Wulfs are fairly similar to the Thunderbolts and even worse in some aspects at these br.-s.
      I had a few matches lost from a clear winning position simply because my guns jammed (happens with early Fw-s)and had to return to base.
      3. The meta; US planes are not as much favored by the meta as Bf-s are post F4, small maps, an increasingly fast paced RB meta, slower climb rates, worse maneuverability.
      This can be worked around with teamplay, but there's no teamplay in WT unless you bring a squad and it's unrealistic to expect from randoms with different goals in mind to work as a team.
      The toxicity of people when they realise you're playing your plane to its strengths and don't turnfight a Yak, Zero, Spitfire or Bf at low altitudes with a P51 also doesn't help, the root of the problem is that the majority of the RB community ironically has a casual arcadey mindset, the volume of the grind also plays a major role in influencing this mindset.
      Just turn off all chat if it bothers you, you won't miss out on much as like i said there's barely any teamplay anyway.
      4. 'Sometimes, your opponent is just having a good day.' :D
      5. Air starts, sometimes favoring the better, meta plane.
      6. Bomber spam, you can notice this just a good 1-2 br.-s lower, except it's mostly Axis teams doing this, usually failing hard at these br.-s.
      They are not as overpowered this low as a Ju288, 188 or an Me264 later on.
      The thing is, B17-s aren't that good either, not when used as a gunship against something faster than itself.
      7. Bad matchups; Germany, USSR Super Meta Bros teams against US, Japan, Italy, yeah some Italian planes are good and they work well with the meta, some.
      US, Japan can be easily outplayed with a meta plane if the other player has a brain and either turns or doesn't.
      A Fw, P47, P51, etc. player simply has to be really good to outplay their opponents if they don't have the altitude-energy advantage at the time of the engagement.
      They also have to be more disciplined than their opponents and teammates and keep their energy state high for a tactical advantage in order to do well.
      Don't be generous to your opponent and offer an equal chance, like a headon, they will just exploit it, outturn you and catch up to you.
      You have to play dirty and you have to be the bad guy wasting the poor guys time and sanity setting up for another BnZ run instead.
      What i'm trying to say with that, some teams are simply beyond help.

    • @gfriedline
      @gfriedline Před 3 lety +2

      @@gabork5055 Many points I agree with. Interesting to point out the toxicity of other players in that BR range having teammates and even enemies call you out in chat for "passive play" when you are sticking to boom n zoom tactics with those same US fighters that seem to excel in it. Friendlies and enemies both seem to think that if you miss that first hit and burst, that you should immediately turn 180 and tail-chase A6M/Fw/Bf into the teeth of other waiting enemy fighters.
      I would say that mid-early US fighters struggle due to the maps, meta, and player mindset as suggested. Who among us didn't act like we were flying an A6M5 the first time we tried a P-47/P-51? Short maps don't help players to get up to altitude/energy as well. One of the reasons I actually liked Bologne sur Mur at 3.7-4.7 was that I could get a P-51 up to altitude, and get the speed built up before engaging. Not so on the other maps.

      @gfriedline Před 3 lety +1

    I really wish more people watched your tutorial videos. All day today, I kept watching 3 or 4 or sometimes even 5 planes go after the first bomber that shows up. Of course they all blow through their ammo and then half our team is going back to reload at the AF. That's if their noob asses didn't sit right behind the bomber and get shot down by the tail gunner.
    So by the time I get my second kill, everyone is either dead or re-arming and time after time, I'm being chased by 8 planes. How do people not know the basics of Air RB? Some of these guys are Lvl. 100 players with premium/fully upgraded planes.

      Most people see it and use it as a boom and zoom one trick pony, but once you learn positioning and coordination, together with a good understandingly of the meta you should see some improvements. For instance in some games you will have to use your leveled speed to lead enemies into unfortunate positions, and sometimes you even need to dive low and kill light pillboxes to win the game. It all comes down to decision making and I can say the margin of error in this regard is very low, and you need a deeper understanding of the meta to play it well

    I’m tired to play German warplanes jengar, the enemies kill me faster, the last day I have 10 fast dies in a row, idk how use this planes, I know Bf 109 had bad Maneuverability and poor armament chances , but I love it when I kill enemies, but sometimes I die and play very angry, Idk if you can upload more videos of how to use these airplanes pls :)

    In my case when i go to +4000 M alt there's fucking no one close to me until my team get wipeout, everyone in low alt
    When i go to 2000m-3000m 5-7 enemy plane above you
    If trying play low alt under 1000m there's always someone who also in low alt
    If use bomber no mater how high i go there's always spitfire behind me

    Ok right at the start your in a Razorback P47 which does not climb well, YET you are at 5599m at well above Bombers in an obvious SIDE CLIMB. Also I see your in youre NMY Squad and all do the same and climb using the same P47. Next your in an IL-2 and still alive and at the time of the video above fighters and killing one easily. Different part of the match in an IL-2 this time at altitude and still alive as you dogfight with some turning and in squad seemingly doing things with an il-2 that turns out successful. Next in a vampire in squad being successful once again.
    I think all the points you make are good, but I was hoping for a video of your thoughts as they happen in the game and how you apply the lessons the video is about as they happen, taking the aircraft your using and the situation as it plays out. Maybe an idea for another video someday.

      @@jengar6258 For sure your Post combat reports show the key aspect of the aircraft Pros/Cons, I was refering to in video as the situations happen. For many Positioning is very much like sticking to your guns or pre match plan depending on the aircraft your taking out, but many have the issue where lest say they are SIDE CLIMBING and they see an approaching fighter, well there is a choice to make, and maybe many people make the wrong choice that impact the rest of the match and their own performance.

    For low br arcade players: 1. learn to stay in the swarm without crashing with your teammates.
    2. learn to cap airfields at full speed without crashing
    3. Dive immediately when you spawn, when those "experienced pilots" aka assholes are boom n zooming your spawn points again.
    4. Only climb when bombers are threatening the win. Nobody booms n zooms in arcade, everybody wants to have fun with the intens action of dogfights
    5. Realistic battles are for old people who cant keep up, lack the reflexes the youth has, and see flying as a slow game of chess with endless analyses about irrelevant stuff .
    6. Never respect boomers, they messed up your future and still act like they know it all.

      Before i went to RB i played AB, i still have 28k kills in AB, and was very good at it, i still have the vids to prove it. my feedback: 1. Faulty, dont be in the swarm, be above the swarm and keep the superior position. 2. yes agreed, good skill in AB. 3. Be the one winning the initial clash, dont dive but climb, try to keep altitude and win the energy advantage. Play to survive. 4. speak for yourself, i used to dominate in ab, to win you need to be the highest plane, and stay that while working your way down. It's a tactical game the whole match long. 5. bunch of crap this remark. AB and RB are different modes with enjoyable features both. some skills are more usefull in ab, some others in rb. 6. respect has to be earned, by anyone of any age. Stigmatising a whole agegroup like you did is youghtfull stupidity.

      @@jengar6258Al goed maat.
      I've seen you racking up 20+ kills in the olden days, are you sure you can still do that?
      And on 3rd point. Initial yes maybe if you want a slow game. But not when they are hoovering above your spawn. They even explained it to me why booming and zooming above the spawn. Its because they can stay high without descending to much using the in comparesing high altitude of the spawn instead of the lower altitude where the dogfights take place.
      Besides that if you have a full line up of 9 planes plus backups you can spawn theoretically 18 times. With that in mind its ok to ram high scoring players with your worst planes.
      Yes, you heard that right. Ramming is a valid tactic in arcade. Takes skills though

      @@zaniwoob when the spawn is dominated it is good to dive sure, but after that i would climb outside of view and remove the guys doing it while high enough, and then take the initiative to their spawn. its part of the AB game. I would have to get back into it, i might be a bit ab rusty, but im sure i can still do that.

    We barely have the time in an air RB match to get position and get kills. The matches feel rushed and planes cant use the play style they are intended too. I barely play because of this anymore. I consider myself an ace (check out AGGRAVATING_MULE for stats if disputed ace level stats.) And i spend money sometimes. But its unplayable i hate it. I lost interest game. Also the marker system is noob friendly gives position away to entire enemy team if 1 enemy gets in 300.0 meters of you. BULL

    In game not much of actual useful information about planes. No information about rollrate, behavior in different attitudes, engine specs like chargers states, superchargers, minutes of WEP, structual information like speed of flatter, stall speed, rudder pitch end other info. This is make difficult to know your plane good enought to position good
