Wow imagine a war thunder youtuber actually putting out a video encouraging teamwork and good tactical thinking when going into a match. Keep it up koala it will only help make our game better for all.
Except no matter how many warthunder CZcamsrs say teamwork is good, 90% of warthunder players suck at teamwork.

You do get something which is better than nothing. "Example 2: In ground battle a player almost captured a zone, when two more players arrived. The pool will be 300+100+100 and players will receive 300, 100 and 100 respectively (first one will receive maximum points, the rest - minimum)."

Everyone gets spawn points from capping so it still makes sense to do so as while you *do* get more rp and sl from capping alone you simply get less of either if your team lose then if you win so waiting still earns you more in the long run if you expect to actually have a chance of winning and getting some kills even with the new system.

i get a kill every like 20 rounds if im lucky
I seem to be getting the drop on the enemy and get the first shot hit. Even get first two or three shots. However, most of the time, they will just nonchalantly heal up and slowly turn their turret and kill me on their first shot. I seriously have to be self-aware to not accidentally smash my controller out of blind rage.
Defend caps, use caps to ambush, ambush even more.
I'm ambushing at wall but there is no one coming and I killed by plane

As a top tier player I didn't think I had much else to learn but your videos are incredibly informative even for veterans thanks.
Honestly this is uber helpful, also I can adjust my 4.0 line-up now, thanks for the great vid.
If you want more kills, ignore the objectives and put yourself in favorable positions. Playing the objective just means you’ll likely be surrounded on all sides and taken by surprise. In the early game, kills matter more than capturing the objectives in winning the match. You have low SP and while capping will give you more, you’re also almost guaranteed to be killed early as well.
The German CAS has been rather heavy lately but profitable if the pilots don't pay attention to their surroundings. The easy ones i found to down have been stukas, ju88, he111 and biplanes but the trickier ones have been 109's, 110's, captured IL2s and 129s with the 75mm.
You have to use the smokes more on Churchill. It has 30 singleton smoke grenades which allows you to shut down angles you can't cover, and to isolate enemies.
wtf happened at 3:45? he shot out ur barrel and it insta repaired when you fired back...
i was searching trough the comments to see if somebody else noticed it as well. it either was a real mechanic (low chance your barrel is OK when shooting it after is has been hit) or it has something to do with Koala his high ping.

The panzer IV with the side skirts is really good with the angle you can pull of

Black Hand I have never been upteired to 5.3 because 5.3 upteirs to 5.7 and if it did Sherman’s and t34s can still be penned and it’s worth the low chance of being upteired
Really nice video for new guys! Even though I am not a new guy it is a joy to watch your videos just for your nice way of explaining things.
One addition I might have to offer: if you bump up your BR to 4.7 and spend some money you can get the Brummbär (-bear). It is tricky to play but if you get the hang of it, it is just fantastic in my opinion. 1 out of 5 games I have with it (mostly in AB but also some RB) I get 100.000 SL+ reward. But again, this tank is tricky, so maybe play the sturmpanzer first to find out if these vehicles are for you.

I have *nothing* to complain about regarding your game-play (I got several thousand games with the panzer 4 F2 at 3.7-3.3 depending on what lineup I felt like playing and what br Gajin decided to put the Jumbo in so I consider it a bit of my speciality).
The only difference here is really just our choice of tanks.
You're right, the 4.0 is a fantastic lineup.
But I actually prefer the Bf 109 E4 over the F4 in ground battles.
Yes I *know* that the F line is faster and climbs better and got a better sustained turn rate making is superior in air battles.
However the E line packs 2 extra canons when you use the bomb loadout compared to the F line and it also got a way better turn rate when using landing flaps till you run out of speed, allowing you to catch people by surprise and more importantly pull out of bomb runs that might otherwise have gotten you killed or break fast getting behind the person on your tail.
Regarding the Panzer 4s there's no difference in the gun at all and I prefer the Panzer 4 F2 over the G variant as while the G *technically* got a touch better turret traverse it's also heavier while using the same engine as the F2 so you actually turn faster when *also* turning the tank itself with the F2 then the G variant if you had a tiny bit of speed to begin with and you get to the fight a touch faster in the F2 as well.

I *could* have included another Panzer 4 in my lineup now that the Jumbo has been moved up again but I just haven't gotten around to it.
And beside I *like* using the Panzer 3 M and L as my "heavy" tanks. :-P
The Churchill is definitively better then either of them though.
One thing that's kind of interesting is that at this br the Ju 88 A-4 is actually a pretty decent CAS with all its bombs and decent turn rate for a twin engine bomber *if* you got air superiority on your side.
Most people don't have the time, patience or money to grind to top tier, so it's good to have some lower tier videos every now and then

BTW cap point sharing, WT changed the respawn point sharing... No more 300 for each... Get same divided like RP now. So WT rewards player who not share 😟. thx WT

@theScottishKoala You can research tanks and planes at the same time in ground battles? They probbably have to be from the same nation and tier, that would make sense? So russian t3 plane and russian t3 tank, can be used both in the same ground battle?

When u play panzer ivs I typically get a bunch of kills. My average games at 6.7 Germany or 7.0 usa are probably around 4-7 kills on average

lvl 13 player, got 4f2 and 3m plus a wirb. Sry I learnt very little from this. Probs not basic enough.. probs i need more specific map knowledge
I think, rewatching this video back, to get much out of it you'd need to already know a decent amount about the map you're playing on - for example, what types of tanks are likely to be where, as well as knowing the ins and outs of your lineup... Perhaps I'll do some videos at a later date about these topics
I don't know about you guys but my ol' reliable tactic was to sneak behind enemy lands while they were busy and killing every single one like a ninja, encouraging my teammates to re-capture the point.

On that & other - similar - maps I usually try to spread to the flanks as much as I can - hide behind the hilly terrain and pick up tanks from one side or the other of the map - they ALL go straight through those houses in the middle. I LOVE to "lurk around" the zone where they spawn and shoot them at distance - the "Hellcat" is very good at that "game" (actually most American tanks are - they have great (I'm not sure if that's correct in English) - great "gun depression&elevation". You pick yourself a spot - try to stay immobile, so it's harder for them to spot you and BLAST THE SHIT outta them! You kill one or two then move to another spot... LOT of fun! :)
i wish warthunder had bit more emphisis on team work rather than one tank going out and wrecking every thing like perhaps having a tank platoon (3 tanks) all work as a team to spot targets and help eachother out

Regarding the "beloved team mates" - do I have to tell You how do they (usually) "thank me" for ...let's say! - "TAKING THE INITIATIVE" or trying to "COVER ...THEM"!?? I'll give You an example - a couple of days ago I was flying a Bf109. One of my "team-mates" was flying a FW (random generated - realistic mode). Suddenly I spot a Russian bomber - coming from my left at about 2km dist - and 1km higher than me. We kinda spotted it together but my team-mate shot first - BASICALLY whacked the target (turned to "grey"), and the bomber started slowly diving towards earth (IT DID NOT BREAK APART YET THOUGH!). I guess the player controlling the bomber did not press the "J" (abandon) button (probably - idk!) - so the gunners on the bomber were still shooting on anything that was close, EVEN THOUGH the "Pe" was doomed. I engaged another "Corsair" flying nearby - dived - got on his tail and shot him down. In the meantime I received two shots fom that bomber falling down, which pissed me off - turned and FINISHED HIM. Obviously the "kill" went to me. TWO MINUTES LATER THE GUY WHO SHOT AT THAT BOMBER FIRST PUT HIMSELF ON MY TAIL - and without warning shot my plane down and called me a "KILL THIEF" or something equally idiotic. That's the "general attitude" I encounter from people in "random battles" - realistic or not. I wrote his name down and now - each time I will see him - in MY TEAM OR NOT - I WILL SHOOT THE BASTARD.

@@theScottishKoala I haven't killed him YET! :D Although I gladly WOULD, considering the barrage of SLUR I had to take from the imbecile. :D Besides! - all due respect - but you know NOTHING about me, mate, so ease up on the sarcasm. On the other side I witness similar things each time I play that game. If I can take a zone and NOBODY is folowing me (or even helping) because - hell knows! - they want to see if I die first and when the shots are coming from, then I TAKE THAT "BASE" and don't give two fucks about my "team-mates". In my experience - in randomly generted battles - it is everybody for himself - and it has ALWAYS been like that! (unless you play with your own friends - then well... that's another story).

Idk it just seems like I can hit a perfect 0° shot and it bounces every time but I can get hit in the fucking tracks and I’m one shot
Question, when your in game and you open up the screen where you see the other players in the game and what tanks they have, and it shows a side profile of their tank. But sometimes it’s green, sometimes it’s red, and its in different shades of green or red, or I think I’ve even seen white. What does this color mean is it like how good the player is or win percentage or something? Maybe their connection? I can’t find the answer anywhere.
On the Map
Blue=Allied
Red=Enemy
Brown=Dead Enemy or Dead Ally
Green=The player or vehicle is in your squadron, normally auto assigned
Blue with a white border=You
On leaderboard (which you mention)
Blue and red are the same, when they appear blacked it means they are dead and cannot respawn, yellow it’s you

Also, if you wait for the whole team, as far as I've experienced at 5.7 when I joined war thunder via xbox, the whole german team gets out flanked because by the time we wait for everyone and cap, the Americans and Russians are halfway to capping B. I think that's why people stopped doing it. For the first few weeks people would actually wait, and we lost 60% of time because of it.

German bias. If it weren't for blind nooby players we would have 60% plus winrates at all BRs. I mean we already have a 80% winrate at 10.0 with the 2a5 in game and we don't even have superior CAS/LRAS at top tier.

Other than the low BR PzIV's (spammed by veterans) and the FOTM 2a5 Ger has mediocre results because they're vehicles are average, great stats on paper but bad characteristics for WT meta. They are overrated, mostly by people who don't play them and just watch CZcamsrs (some being biased themselves).
@@hubertus1826 if they are overrated then why do I feel like it's so easy to get kills with just about any German tank. The whirbly isn't overrated hence why other nations players bitch and moan about how it's cancer. The 6.7 and 8.7 lineups are some of if not the best and most fleshed out in the game. I could go on and on about winrates and individuals k/D's with German tanks vs other tanks but the best why to test it is in a 32x32 player battle.

How do u know where the ememies?
Very important to pay attention to the sounds - for example, I knew where the T-34 was due to the sound of his gun (the L-11 76mm cannon is very recognisable). But the MAIN way of knowing is to just know the map - knowing which types of tanks are likely to be where. That's very difficult to give a guide on, it's just something you know by experience

Yes it is great for Learning angling and one of the only Tanks with great armour

Yeeeess ish, but the Pz.IV G got downtiered twice while the Churchill got uptiered so that kind of broke it. It’s still very workable, just trade the Churchill for any other 4.0 vehicle and replace the Pz.IV G with the IV H and you’ve got yourself a fantastic 4.0 lineup with more vehicles than you should ever need 👍

I see SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many people getting hit ultiple times while using StuG but when I get hit, I die after getting hit once.
You gotta learn how to angle your armor. If you fact the enemy directly you present flat surfaces for them to shoot. Turn your tank about 30 degrees and they’ll struggle to penetrate those same plates. Only turn back front on to take your shot

You got greedy and rushed your shots in the Churchill.... That's why you died so early. Should've ignored that 2nd T-34 crossing in the background (he didn't even know you were there) and should've put that round into the KV-1 that was turning you into Swiss cheese. Also, you took 2 real noob shots at that KV-1... First time, you fired a shot when the cursor was on the KV-1, but the crosshair wasn't. Second time, you hit the corner of the building.
I was definitely overconfident with it, it was actually only the second match I played in it

Uhm, how about actual realism? How about my M36 tank 90mm super gun with 200+mm pen being unable to pen any tank at point blank range? Example, pounded the sides of a Panther 3x (turret and hull), and the Panther drives off full speed and then another tank with a weaker gun kills across the map. I have many more examples. The game is retarded.
Here's another Panzer IV(70) pz40 shell unable to pen a Sherman at point blank range, after several hits (192mm pen). WTF!? Of course, the Sherman kills me.

I'd have made one single pass more and killed him anyway, and then bailed out of the plane to jump in a tank regardless, as I had to in order to help my team mates on the ground, something I couldn't do from the air at that point of the match... All that would have done was give the enemy plane some spawn points as he undoubtedly would have been given the kill, which would have meant more tanks on the battlefield, and given my team less of a chance of winning. All in all, ramming him to death was the smart move, the tactical decision, and obviously supported by the game, else I wouldn't have been awarded the kill
Sure what you say is right. It is more a fair play thing. Spawn Camping is also a part of the game and allowed. Just saying.
@@CommanderAustria Spawn camping is once again not always a bad thing - spawn camping at the end of the match is the logical outcome. You push the enemy back so far that there's nowhere else for you to go and nothing else for you to do. So you go where the enemy tanks are and put them down in order to win the game.
The only ISSUE with spawn camping is when scumbags flank the entire map, ignore the objectives completely, and spawn camp early just to pad their stats.
