    • @jout738
      @jout738 Před 2 lety +16

      Yes I always use the map. Go for free points to capture them where not a lot teamates go to and then go fight to capture another point, that teamate captured. Also through map you can see where the enemies are and so you can see that from behind there is comming enemy tank, while you concentrating on another tank and so he thought he could make cheeky kill on you, while you one shot him, because you knew he was comming, when you watching the map all the time to see who are around you.

    • @jout738

    My biggest rule that helped me is the "Don't play again" rule. I see new players die to a tank they don't know how to kill and say to themselves "how is that tank fair against mine?". and just press "Play" again. Before playing the next match, find the tank that killed you, test the armor, and compare it's stats. You can find weakspots and learn strengths/weakness of vehicles this way without the need for a youtube video every time. If you press play again you will be killed frustratingly in the same way in the future until you learn both your tank and the enemy tank. It only takes a minute or two minutes and you will have learned a bunch that would normally taken hours of gameplay without looking at the menus this way.

    • @drdownhill9923
      @drdownhill9923 Před 2 lety +44

      agreed. but i would also say to test your own tanks armour and see where its strengths and weaknesses are and play the game like you have no armour (unless you are a heavy), so if you are engaging someone, you would want to emphasise your tanks strong points more. i find bouncing shells and not getting 1 shot happen more often this way and one thing i find dumb is if someone is looking around the corner, dont try peak a shot, go around or just mark the enemy and leave cause you are at a disadvantage, although i dont mind it when the enemy players do it, free kills for me xd. (top tier is who ever shoots first so test driving+customs would be better to help with reaction timing)

    The unfortunate thing about number 5 (helping allies) is that if you are participating in the constant grind event that is the battle pass and warbond shop (tied in as well), tasks usually promote self-centered play almost all the time (except for specific tasks).

      With the "being able to help repair/extinguish any teammate" mechanic, i see more teamplay, especially at higher tiers (from experienced players, not from low-levels who bought top tier premiums). From my experience, those low levels are so annoying to have in a team. Ignoring their lack of skill and knowledge of the maps and vehicles, they often ram into you and they think that if they keep driving straight, the problem will somehow get fixed. Or, in some cases, they ram you out of cover and expose you right in front of the enemy.

    Don't stop in the middle of a road unless you are engaging an enemy...spread out unless you want to be carpet bombed like a Russian convoy. Don't stop right behind another tank, you are preventing them from backing into cover. Don't try to hill snipe using Russian tanks, you don't have the depression and you likely have another nation on your team that has good depression (Like the UK or Germany). Don't spam 'attack the D point' or other worthless commands at the beginning of the match; people will mute your radio and when you really need backup, no one will hear you. Don't call for backup if you are sitting in the enemy spawn detection zone...you are a scumbag and should die alone. When you spawn, look around real quick if you plan to dart off in some odd direction...no one likes getting crashed into by some lunatic who wants to camp a hill behind spawn (better yet, just wait for the initial spawners to push out so you can do that). Apologize if you bump somebody and send them spinning out (but for christ's sake, spread out so you are not bumping into them to start with). If you are playing a slow heavy tank, let the speedy bois go first. Don't get butt hurt when you can't get to points to capture them if you are playing a slow tank. No one will wait for your slow arse!

I am playing casually, arcade only and for fun though. I guess I am a fairly okay player though. Usually finish a match with 5-7 kills and only 1-2 deaths unless I get uptiered.
    I like to help repair and extinguish fires on allies as often as I can, or tow them out of danger if they're immobilized or get overturned. Completely agreed on the point that helping teammates makes for a better match and better chance to win. It's the same logic behind why I love playing medic on games like Killing Floor 2. I can keep the team alive, and still get kills.

    I love the first hint is basically “spent irl money on this f2p game, otherwise you get a 70% tax on your research points when researching outside your tier”. Like, it’s a fair hint, i hate that gajin does the tax when researching lower tier vehicles, but like, the entire point of that tax is to challenge the player to get better, and to make sure they’re good enough for the tier they’re going into.
    P.S. with good enough for the tier i mean… barely scrapping by, like maybe 1 assist/tank destruction at most.

    For beginners I'd recommend getting a premium vehicle or two at around tier 3. Make sure they are similar BR and watch a few reviews to know how to use them and if they're shit. My reasoning for this is:
    1. You don't have to start playing at the usually boring super low BR vehicles that are ugly biplanes or terrible looking box tanks
    2. You can grind out a variety of early vehicles really fast to have different options and a nice lineup really fast
    3. The low BR premiums are really cheap so the investment isn't huge
    4. You don't go right up to facing players with often thousands of hours in the game, after paying 50+ dollars for a jet or tank you suck at playing.
    5. You get to naturally learn how to use stuff like night vision and thermals, missiles, range finders, etc. And for jets, they play entirely differently to props, and you have to make keybinds for all kinds of shit, like 5 radar actions, secondary weapon swapping, firing rockets, missiles, bombs, counter measures, using thrust vectoring on some jets, and an entire set of keybinds to control manually guided missiles.
    6. You get to learn the maps for ground, in less punishing tiers. At top tier, if you take a wrong path you're often dead instantly because tanks can spot and shoot from over 2 kilometers, at a moving target, while still moving themselves.
    7. These are still premiums, so the repair costs are very forgiving, and the SL multiplier makes you more able to keep playing without buying premium account time.
    I started out that way, and it turned out I really liked the game and after spending hundreds of hours for almost free, I decided it would be worth it to buy a year's worth of premium time from a sale, and got myself a top tier premium (F-5C) from another sale, to grind a new nation after I had already learned to be okay at top tier in both jets and tanks.

    One thing about not wasting SL by buying vehicles early: You do need to buy a certain amount to progress through the techtree. if you don't wanna have a tree on standby at rank 3-4 for months bc you haven't bought enough vehicles from that rank yet, you'd waste tons of RP if you play your high tier premium there, so at least buy the minimum amount to progress.

    • @awwgordy
      @awwgordy Před 2 lety +1

      TLDR; watch your tracers and load AP
      every plane will be a little bit different when learning to use gunners due to the difference between the gunners positions and the camera position (parallax), the best way to learn how to use gunners is to choose a bomber with a couple of turrets that have lots of tracers (the wellington and He-111 are the ones i learned on years ago) if you have them unlocked always load AP belts for .50cal and below (20mm defensive guns do good damage no matter the belt so its more up to personal preference, though you want to be punching through engines and windshields with 7.92/.303/7.62x54 so its important to take AP). Now that you have a plane and a belt, take it into a match and try to get shot at, the best way to learn is to watch your tracers and try to correct based on that, fire in 1-2 second bursts at most, don't hold the trigger and let your guns jam, and lead your target more aggressively than you think you need to, you have to remember that the enemy is moving, your plane is moving, and the bullets are moving in 3 different directions, so leading your target is not as intuitive as with forward mounted weaponry, after that it all comes down to practice
      sorry for the novel length comment but i also struggled with this back in the day so i hope it helps

    On the research bit, it does work well if you’re with a premium account, and it’ll help some if you grind in low tier vehicles for over a year.
    On the enemy picking bit, helping your allies is good, in low tier AC-RB you can give it a couple seconds and ask if they need help (pc/console keyboard). And if there is the NPC and enemy chasing your friend scenario, take distance into account. Because that bomber getting chased by a Bf109 is on their own if they’re past 5 km and at 4km altitude. Be smart.

    Some other useful advice I've learned from a certain other tank game... is to follow your allies! Don't go alone!! How many times I have went off by myself and died is too many considering how much time I put in. Keeping your head on a swivel and eyes on the map also helps.

      unless you are in a fast tank and are flanking the enemy, it's not like your allies are going to make your armor any better. the only times you can go alone is when you know the map and know common routes

    Im playing at rank 3 on ground mode, and no one plays the objective, no one cares about winning, so helping your allies is a bit pointless. It's so bad I remember I lost a game when we had lost only 3 players and the other team had 6 players left... because everyone refused to go cap the point. I tried alone a couple of times but it was just me against 3 tanks and I died. No one cared so I simply stopped feeding my currency for nothing as well. At the end of the day, if you try to help your ally and no one even attempts to play the objective, you will lose anyway and you risk losing money if you die.

    I already apply most these ground forces tips. Just wish most my teams would.
    I'm currently playing at around 4.0 on the US, German, and USSR lines, and happy to stay at that level. Also grinding the Japanese line, but only at 1.7. Good for when I get frustrated with the higher level players.

    I'm kinda experienced, been playing since 2013, US main, mainly playing Air RB and started getting into Ground RB, expecting to have a fun time similar to Air RB, I was very wrong.
    The video helped out a lot though, and I'm sure the advice will come in handy.

    Ok, that first tip just saved my hundreds of hours. My plan for grinding Italian bombers was to, get to a higher tier (like 4.3) and then start researching. I mean, I think I would of already figured it out because I was earning nothing to grind the Flakpanzer 38 from being in a 4.3 tank in full uptiers.

    I'm not really a great tanker. Some games I only get a kill or 2, some games I get 6, 7 or even 8 kills. But some games I can sit behind a ridge, use my binos to check for enemies, not see anyone, but as soon as I peek I get killed. However, when I manage to get into a plane (especially in ground RB), it' not uncommon for me to be able to rack up both the ground and air kill counts. Since I'm a British main, my go-to plane is the Typhoon. My tanks might be 5.7, but 4x 20mm and 2x 1000 lb bombs from 4.3 are more than enough to lay down the pain on enemy tanks. The Typhoon is also maneuverable enough and fast enough to both be able to outrun and/or out-turn most enemies it's going to face.

    I've learned to never rely on teammates due to they will almost almost always get u killed. Now there are rare instances when one or two mates and I have perfect cohesion, if so we try to stick together as often as we can.

    Attack down in AB, not up. Try to stay cognitive of anyone above you and keep eyes in the back of your head. If it looks like they’re flying to you, you don’t always have to engage. Bait the enemy (and in some cases, your team) and use your friendlies to take out enemy aircraft. Create and exploit enemy disadvantages whenever possible. When skill is short in supply, stay in packs when you fly.

    Also, for fast researching the planes on the first two ranks on the german tech tier, if you use a premium account as well as the premium marcolin's CR42, you'll research pretty much 1 full rank 1 plane for each air arcade game you play, as long as you're kiiiinda good at the game. the 12mm guns on that plane, as well as the turning speed, make you a killing machine in every single game you play. It's absolutely insane.
    Also, do, really, keep in mind that if you want to research a rank 3 plane, you can still use rank 1 planes for your games at no penalty, just make sure you have one rank 3 plane as well, so that that becomes your matchmaking ranking. it always follows the highest tiered plane's rating when you start a game. Which is why you might not want to research 1 3.0 vehicle when you are using 2.3 vehicles, and then immediately bring it out. instead, maybe research a couple of them, so that you dont end up playing against a bunch of 3.0 players with mostly 2.3 planes.
