Saying "One more time" 10 times in a row has to be the biggest compliment to a game dev.
The first game alone is better than anything I even managed to create. I don't know how to feel about this 😅
same here lol
Bramwell is a certified Godot 4 3D guru 🙇♂
Comparing yourself to others will often lead to disappointment, instead just be open to learning and remember to pat yourself on the back any time you're able to make something :) all it takes is persistence and patience.
I hope it motivates you!
Haha... I'm over here just making my first game... a "Maze" game that is pretty dumb, but trying to learn... I've been watching too many videos and not actually doing anything...so one step at a time, even though this game I'm creating is "dumb"
"I promise I'm not a weeb, my wife is japanese... and I'm a weeb." - This belongs on a shirt
hopefully a real person makes it
Hate to say it, but the fact that every game was a polished gem really made this video go from good to excellent. If there were 50 of these videos on this channel I would be settling in for an evening.
polished gems? jeez the bar has bee lowered. The devs literally said they didn't have time to polish the games.
@@brandon0981he is just exagerating, i think that whay he means is that the games were great for the time they had
@@brandon0981you can polish anything to different levels. for the time constraints this is polished for the level it is. it doesn't have to be a masterpiece every time someone says "polish"
gives me hope with the new godot
That being said, I think it could be funny if all the games were a chaoitc buggy mess
Other devs:
OK I finished the gameplay with 6 hours to go, so now I'm going to implement a few decorative features I saw in other games.
Me:
OK it's been 6 months and I'm almost done making the title screen. I can't wait to start working on the game! (I can, and I don't wanna)
I've been avoiding it so badly that I added intro splash screens with the FBI "winners don't use drugs", and the EPA "Please recycle" like arcade machines used to have lol
Starting with the art and polishing it before even having a single gameplay element implemented is what most new game devs get bit by. I know how it is because I used to do the same. Though I quickly discovered I suck at art so started to focus on gameplay instead. Which was good because that also meant I started finishing games (albeit ugly-looking ones)
"I wanted to use the assets in an unexpected way, so immediately my mind went to 3D" - and then 3 out of 4 games are 3D haha. Such cool games! I didn't know about the on rail shooter genre, and those animations looked sooo smooth.
The on rails shoother is perfect for arcades where you get to hold a gun-like aiming device.
On rail shooters are a popular choice for arcade machines.
@@faisfaizal5194 probably would make a decent VR experience as well.
That last game got so intense at the end, with Bram and Crigz with one heart trying to beat the bosses. I couldn't help but cheer out loud😂
LUCY
Did you notice that Crigz full healthed the game too?
@@Hector-bj3ls Just needed that one more try 💪
i think that sushi assassin game is phenomenal, i can see that being a commercial selling game.
Look up Dave the Diver for all your sushi assassin needs
Indeed, it has that Papers please vibe too, if he ever made like a little background and story where there's special scenario like Papers please where you assasinate certain character
That'd be a good selling point too
yeah it's like Ore no Ryomi meets Papers Please lol, really fun idea that can be expanded upon into a full commercial game!
All four of these games look amazing! Great work to all devs.
These types of videos are never dull. All devs did incredible and all the games looked fun!
All of them looked so good. Each dev chose such a different and unique path. I absolutely loved it.
I just started learning Godot today for a project in uni, and watching this game jam made me feel super motivated. Mad respect to each creator, their skill is really impressive. Also I loved the "I promise I'm not a weeb, my wife is Japanese... And I'm a weeb"
It was fun to see, how different you all went about it :) all the games looks fun
I love watching Godot gamejams! These games look great.
This was amazing! All of you guys did an incredible job. Each game was super impressive
Definitely great content to watch! Please do More of these!
Its great to hear the thought processes and then the ideas come to life. Very Cool to Watch!
This is the soul food I need. Been depressed for quite some time, and thus unproductive. Stuff like this makes me want to fire up Godot and give it a real try.
Please make more of these! I would love to see you guys do this more, it's very cool!
Love these types of videos! Amazing work by the devs and very entertaining to watch
These are sooo well made, and fun and simple games! Gave me some ideas for the TD I'm working on.
Thank You!!!
This was so cool. I imagine it takes a ton of effort on everyone's part, but I'd love to see more of these.
What a great video! This was a joy to watch. I think the format is incredibly smart because it breaks up the video into multiple parts and each developer had a reasonable amount of time to make a semi polished experience. This is partly thanks to the provided art assets, sounds, and music. The death animations and sound effects on the third game will cracking me up!
this content is motivate me a lot of making more godot projects, please keep it up!!
I so thoroughly enjoyed this, would love to see more of these!
I'd love to see more of these! Really a great Video and great games!! Well done!
I've gone through watched and implemented most of your tutorials. thanks for helping me learn godot! you are great and have a nice day
This was great! Interesting, how all games were so polished, quality stuff, keep it up!
First time i see your channel i loved this video, the concept of it and the results. Its awesome, great content and great games
So amazing, the effort to polish so well inspire me a lot
This was a great video! The games were all creative and polished, every developer explained their process well, and watching each playthrough was a lot of fun. I hope you do more of these, at least until you've made 4!
AMAZING effort!
I'd love to see more vids like this one
this is genuinely amazing, every game was super polished and cute i love this so much!! ive watched Miziziziz videos too in the past and i love seeing how every game dev thinks of unique ideas and approaches
great video, would love to see more from you guys
Starting my game dev journey and seeing this has made me even mid excited to create. Would love to see more videos like this
More of this please!! This format!
Great work from all of you. It's awesome to see how varied these games are!
Wow, all four of these are absolutely amazing! Fantastic work by every dev. One polished gem from a jam is rare enough, but for every game in an art kit jam to be a polished gem? Wow! Props to all of the devs for their skills and experience
🎉🎉 this is gonna be awesome
Love your videos! Would love to see more content like this!
Thanks for putting the asset pack in the description. Helped a lot
Great video! So awesome to see such a talented set of game developers knock this challenge out!!
I love this sort of content. Please make more.
What an amazing video ❤🤯 so cool projects you 4 created and all could be developed further imho. Really polished games!
Thanks for watching, Paddy! :)
So great Games , everyone of you did SOOOO Awesome at this challange ! ! NICE VIDEO - want to see more of those ^^
Gate work by all 4 of you. It is soo cool to see what you can make in such a short time. Id love to see more.
absolutely fantastic . And for only 44 hrs each! Now I would love to see detailed "the making of" from each creator.
It does feel a lot like Miziziziz and I love it, I hope to see more in the future great job!
Superb from all 4 devs! I used to be someone who dreaded watching videos like this because it made me jealous and feel like I'll never reach that level but I am trying to improve that, give myself a pat on the back to help myself, more like this please!
I really enjoyed this video, excellent games created by some great developers. Great motivation for myself to continue this game dev journey. Thanks and I would love to see more in the future
all of the games was really cool and fun to wach i cant choose a fav so thx for the content
Man this was amazing to watch, it's so insane to see all the different angles you can take a single sprite sheet. I especially think the Hitman game has so much potential with adding more and more levels and features! Also seeing the FPS game reminded me of my first game jam where I made a 3d pixelated horror story game with gamemaker. To see all this potential with godot is truly amazing! I want to see more of these!
I loved these, great work.
Really, really great video! I know a few people have made videos in this format but this is the most consistent in terms of the commentary across all the devs, which definitely helps watchability. I know devs can be quite hard to wrangle so it's even more impressive! :D
Quality content. Thank you for making it exist!!
All of these ideas are super creative and look really fun to play!
All of these games were so unique and exciting from a single asset pack. Really goes to show how creativity goes a long way.
This video was awesome. Im keen to see more!!!!!!!
this was fun to watch, all 4 games were amazing
Amazing talented people that are great at their craft . A joy to watch !
I am really happy you made this. I missed miziziziz doing these.
Really cool video and format ! Well done !
Very nice! i love these types of videos. ✨
Let's goooo!
It is always super incredible to see how different ppl can use the same exact assets, but create totally different games. Great job on all of them, they were all great!
Nice video. Subbed. Thought it was a Brackeys video at first because they run a similar format but I really enjoyed the time given to each developer and the editing pace. Felt much better and not so quick cut and we had more time to spend wit each game.
That was really fun, thanks. Also really great projects, make me itching to learn more so I can make better games.
these using the same asset pack videos are my favourite thing to watch on youtube BY FAR. its so interesting, so much creativity, i feel like i learn something and ITS NEVER toxic, it never makes me be in a bad mood or hate the world..
It was enjoyable to observe how each of you approached it differently :) all the games look entertaining
Awesome work on the games 👍
I really like this type of video, thanks. :)
Absolutely fantastic job to everyone! That on-rails shooter has to be fleshed out and released. It was super cool to see that style of game again.
Fantastic, I learned so much from this, thank you..
Nice video! 👍🏻 These games were great!
this was awesome. well done you guys 👏
Absolutely amazing! I love the 2D for 3D aesthetic.
This was very fun to watch and eye opening to be honest.
Man all 4 of those were awesome!
Everything was amazing good job
Damn, all the games are so cool. Tanuki temple seems like a fun, brain-off, reaction-based game. The concept of Sushi Ninja is so simple, yet so cool. Would love to see it fleshed out more.
Wow. Great video and really great results you all got
amazing talent from all 4 devs
Super impressive results! The level of polish is so high for a jam, I could see any of these games going the distance with some more time and effort if people wanted to. I also really appreciate the way people explained the tools they were using, as someone who's still pretty fresh to Godot it was super helpful for learning. On that note, are any of these projects available to peek inside? I'd love to see the full implementations of things like the state machine (rip interfaces) and on-rails animations.
Great! Something similar with a 3D asset pack would be seriously cool!
Cool games, loved the rail shooter, it was very clever. Would be fun if you guys could score each other's work or have a jury who do the scoring at the end if you guys plan to make similar videos in the future.
The games turned out to be very cool and fun. The guys are so great! ❤
Honestly, these were all great. Not a weak link among them. Well done to the devs!
looking forward to it king
4 fantastic game for the time you dedicate it! But my favourite is the 4th, absolutely fun
This is really cool. Thanks all for doing this.
Hello, thank you for teaching me all I know about game development, my journey is just getting started.
Brilliant, each game was such a fun and unique way to riff on the tileset. Personal favourite was the shooter, just bcus i prefer shooters to puzzles.
the conveyer belt sushi one has such good potential. the chaos of games like the iconic 'papa's pizzeria'. also kind of reminds me of 'papers please' in a way
Do not stop making content. This is inspirational to game developers everywhere. Absolutely amazing work. I'm still trying to learn Godot myself... 😉
just wow, you guys are amazing!
How did I only come across this now, so cool !
Great video, hope to see more
Been working on my first platformer for about a momth now 😅 what these guys do in a week is incredible
Great video!! Love it
This is super cool!! Im inspired to be as good as this one day
What a great game jam, the fact that these all looked like genuinely fun, polished games makes me want to learn Godot. If they can do this is 44 hours, I can't imagine what could be done in more time
