    The Orly Builder in a bottle is amazing!
    Fills are quick and simple, I wouldn't want to remove it unless you don't want your nails anymore!

    I use Gelish structure in Salon. I agree it's really difficult to remove. It is classed as professional only product and Gelish suggest to file down to 10% and then soak. It can take up to 20 mins to remove pending on how long you are filing but it so difficult because you can build it up to the point it can work for extensions with a broken nail... also FYI... it cements gems on really well.

      That is a bummer, no? A product that requires to be filed by 90% and then the last 10% soaked should not be called a soak off product in my opinion….

    I put a glass bowl of acetone, in a bigger container of really hot water. Put my hand it, cover the container with a towel, and they pop off in about 15.

    So which do you suggest for a newbie? Would you say to only use the primer on the tip or not at all if you plan to soak off?

  • @heatherlundquist-buffalo

    I always used Orly Easy Off Base gel under their Biab. It comes off easy then!

    Since you only tagged Orly and not Gelish, does that mean you don’t recommend the Gelish?
    I’m not a pro and pretty new to doing my own nails, so I’m trying to find something I can leave bare or dip over (with either peel base or guards in between). I’m trying to find a product where I can easily do fills, as I don’t like weakening my easily split nails.

    So how do you get the rest off???

  • @Nailsbyjo
    @Nailsbyjo Před 4 lety +3

    The soak off it’s about 20 mins for the orly gel, and did you get it from your local supply or online ?

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  Před 4 lety

      I got it from my distributor. In USA I would buy directly from the company www.orly.com?

    I don't particularly like all the off topic remarks and stories, as it's hard for me to easily pick up what I need to know to in order to follow along with her process - but let me tell you, the best moment ever is when he said, "You know it's proven that every serial killer has drank water in their lifetime?" rofl.

    "You can't use the 's' word!" 🤣 I thoroughly enjoyed watching this... and listening to you two! Thanks for another great video. Have you tried Akzentz Trinity? I think I prefer filling rather than soaking off... I haven't had an easy time with ANY builder that I've tried!

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  Před 4 lety +6

      Years ago yes I used to because I educated for Akzentz. I have to say in terms of versatility I would choose Orly. You can both file and, well, soak if you don’t apply primer all over. I feel you can achieve a thinner nail with these new builders because they still have some flexibility so they don’t crack.

    I have tried primer under Gelish and it didn't really prevent lifting, but it did make it impossible to get the gel off - ultimately I had to file it off because no amount of soaking would do it, and the filing weakened my nails :( Any tips for getting gel to last longer without using a primer? I'm lucky if gel lasts a week and even then there's usually some lifting after a few days.

      Don’t use primer use the ph balance or nail dehydrator and let it dry, then apply a thin layer of base coat and cure for 30 seconds and the apply the builder on top of it i hope that help you.

    I love the ORLY builder in the bottle. I went through their training and damn i fell in love. The removal video, thanx for that cause i really want to start using it in the salon i work, but since i do struggle with being on time im afraid that it will throw me back into 2h time :(

      2 hours for what service? You should try the Cuccio Brush On Builder. It soaks off well (unless you put primer under the whole thing)
