  • So today i'm back with a Rise of the Guardians video. Haven't done one of these in a while, so I thought i'd come at you with a theory. There is a special connection between Jamie and Jack Frost (that much was always clear). But whilst some may say it is merely a superficial plot point. I think it goes deeper. That these two characters belong to the same family. Let's get cracking shall we?

I like the Jamie is Jack Frost's little sister's descendant theory.

Honestly, I never thought about the relationship between Jamie and Jack Frost; however, if you watch the movie in that frame of mind, it makes it much more enjoyable than good vs evil : good prevails

7:17 I never thought about it from this perspective, a sort of family myth passed down by family. I've actually heard of cases like this where a grandparent or great grandparent would do something in a certain way because it was convenient and then their children would do the same and their children, but generations later they don't know why they do things this way but just know that it's always been the case. In the instance I'm referencing, a family would always cut the two ends of a loaf of bread, they've done that for three generations, when someone who was had married into the family asked why they did this, the wife didn't know and simply said that she saw her parents do it, so he asked the parents the same question and they gave the same answer, when he asked the grandmother, she revealed that it was because the bread container that they had was simply too small to fit the whole bread so she would cut the ends whenever she would buy bread and so that started a family tradition and the new generation simply accepted it without question. So, Jamie's mom probably heard from her parents about some protector spirit, Jack Frost and just thought it was an expression.

In cases like this where something remains unconfirmed but is widely believed by fans and doesn't go against the established canon and fits quite perfectly. Then it's pretty much semi-canon. And honestly I want it to stay unconfirmed by the creators because it feels somewhat better this way, a kind of fun mystery by like-minded people, a kind of inside joke create by us, and meant only for us. So, I firmly believe that it's canon at least for us.

One thing remains unchanged, the Man in the Moon is a jerk that never bothered to tell Jack Frost anything and just let him wander around alone for a long time.

A ROTG theory? In the year of our lord 2023? Hell yes.

  • @royalcards1554

Throughout the actual movie you see hints at Jack's brotherly nature. We see Jack constantly taking care of baby tooth we see him save her from pitch-black and he's constantly around Jamie, a person who yes looks a lot like his sister. That instinct to care and protect someone who's weaker or younger than you is what Jack does for both his sister and Jamie and remember in his flashback he's saved his sister's life at the cost of his own, and that's exactly what he does at the end of the film once again he risks his life to find the last believer and tries to help them believe once again even if they could hurt him in the process.
And on top of that I actually like that theory about Jack Frost being a family story passed down through generations starting with his sister and ending with Jamie finally being able to see him. Because how else would the sister have been able to cope after she felt guilty for getting her brother killed all those years ago, well she would make up a story that keeps his memory alive the story as Jack Frost. Which is probably how he was able to be revived in the first place, with her belief in her brother The Man in the Moon revived her brother, he took care of her for a long time, but since he's constantly traveling the world he had no idea that his own family still believed in him, and while she saw him he didn't know that.

I'm an believer haha. I love the theory since the first time I heard about it. Honestly First I thought it was canon. It was only later I learned that it was a theory haha. Very unfortunatly that they didn't make more movies. I would love to see a Rise of the Guardians 2

Jack and Jamie (along with Sophie) have a high tolerance for extreme cold. They can walk on a frozen pond barefoot or Jamie running through a snowy Pennsylvania town barefoot as if it is nothing. I tried going barefoot in the snow and I didn't last for a few minutes before I weakened out.

I am a believer 😉 I think it makes sense. And I think it is very sweet. With him trying to cheer up his sister even though he doesn't remember who she is to him. So even if it's not true it's a very sweet idea. Bitter sweet that is😢❤

Another point that could be evidence for the theory is that if you look on the ROTG fandom wiki page about Jack’s sister, in the trivia part (I think it was), there’s a point that mentions the sister looking like Jamie was a deliberate choice. She was supposedly going to be younger and look more like Sophie in the early version of the script, but then was changed to be older and look like Jamie. (If this is true,) The fact that they made Jack’s sister look like Jamie and Sophie on purpose, that could certainly mean something

I’ve always thought about Jamie’s mum referencing jacks name n thought it was weird esp cause it’s the only time a human had without ppl believing in him.
So I love the idea of it’s a bittersweet tale passed down by the family supposedly from jacks sister n mother.
    I am a believer 🥰

I got the script because it was made available during awards season that year. The script describes Jack's sister as looking the same as Sophie, therefore hinting at the theory.

Hm, interesting, this does sound very interesting and would pretty cool if it turned out be the case,
Still, I can not think of any evidence that haven’t been presented in this Video already, however I will have this as a personal headcanon, ‘cause you did bring up some good points,
I really hope we get some kind of confirmation of this at some point,
Until then, I will look forward to see what other Videos you’ll come up with, see you next Video.

There’s a really amazing fanfiction called ‘Secret of Frost and Moon’ where Jack doesn’t lose his memories and his sister becomes his first believer. He builds a legacy for himself over time in his home village which eventually expands into becoming the town from the movie with Jamie being his sister’s descendant. Jack himself stays a part of his bloodline as their guardian and literal spiritual uncle throughout the ages with all his descendants able to see him. It’s an amazing story and any fan of the movie should definitely check it out.

I have always had the theory that Jamie is jack's descendant.
Is Jamie actually the last light to believe in the guardians? I think Sophie would also believe as Sophie met the guardians in the bunnies Warren

This guy's theory is understandable and I agree with most of what he says. Jamie and Jack's sister have many similarities including identity. Above all, I think it's a nice though for Jamie to be Jack Frost's relative ❤❄️

  • @n.abookgirl2457
    @n.abookgirl2457 Před rokem +5

I honestly believed Jamie to be related to Jack ever since I first watched this film. Can you imagine a Rise of the Guardians 2 or sequel series presented by Netflix were Jamie must research his family tree for history class only to find out that he is a descendant of Jack and that, it his responsibility to help turn other kids into believers.
Ps: I would stay faithful to the source material, but be unafraid of putting my own spin onto it. Oh, and I would flesh out Pitch Black's backstory in small flashback scenes. 👨‍🦳❄

Don’t like this theory. It feels to narrow. Like Jack Frost only watch over his own familiy and not all children of the world.
