I had the opportunity to study one year at U of I back in 2010 on a grant (I am Guatemalan). It was by far the best year of my life. I still treasure all the moments and memories I made. Sadly I have lost track of almost everyone I met there, most of them don't even live in America anymore, but damn, watching this video just touches my heart, I just wish I could back to walk those streets, hang out at those restaurants, play soccer on those fields and overall just fooling around campus. There is not a day I don't miss my life in Urbana-Champaign. Thanks for the video, sir, you have made this old, boring Guatemalan get goosebumps by thinking about the good days.
I'm glad the video brought the good memories back to you! By the way, what did you study there?
My son just got his acceptance today in UIUC's engineering so I came here to watch this video. What a great video btw and what a great school ! He made the right choice
Congrats to you and your son! Great university with one of the best engineering schools in the world.
You should say what a "great nation" also. Only a great nation can produce so many great schools!
Wonderful video indeed. Thank you! My son will be starting there in the Electrical Engineering program this August as well. I am so excited for him and proud. He'll be coming from Seattle.
Excellent drone movement, angles and transitions. The university has a graceful continuity of archetecture and landscape! outstanding design on the whole. I've always loved the look of red brick buildings within a spatial surrounding!
Thank you Rick! 🙏 I always appreciate your feedback.
great video flying drone over university of illinois urbana champaign in champaign illinois 👍
Thank you Adrian! 🙏
Glad you liked it.
Good and stable flight! You are a good drone operator, I could enjoy watching this nice video!
Thank you Mitsu! 🙏 Glad you liked it.
Wow….that is an impressive campus. And it’s huge. I’ve heard some people describe Illinois as a small University in the B10. Not from what I just saw.
Another excellent video 👍
@@donnie2832 How can they say it's small! It's HUGE!
@@CampusMania Their probably looking at it from football success. Most of those B10 Universities are huge.
@@donnie2832 Football sucess is not an enough metric. This University has some of the strongest engineering programs in the world.
Great video! I loved my time there. Whenever I got stressed out, I would go for a run out into the endless cornfields!
Glad you liked the video. What did you study there? And how long ago?
@@CampusMania I went to law school at Illinois. Graduated back in '98. It was cool. I sometimes wish I went there for undergrad too. It's an awesome school. A lot of the departments are as good as any Ivy League - for a lot less money!
@@davidrahnis7341 That's great. Does the campus look different now after almost 25 years?
@@CampusMania The academic buildings are mostly the same. The big difference is all of the tall apartment buildings in campustown. None of those were there! There was only one "high rise" in the whole town back then.
@@davidrahnis7341 That's great. This means the city is growing.
Great video. I grew up in Champaign. My high school graduation was at Krannert.
Thank you! How do you like Champaign? Would you live there again?
Beautiful campus !
Indeed.
Even though I just went back to my home country two days ago, your amazing footage is making me miss this place
I'm glad the video brought back the good memories to you. What did you study there?
@@CampusMania I'm a sophomore doing a bachelor's in computer science.
@@al-waleedal-salti161 Oh nice, so you're not done yet. All the best to you!
@@al-waleedal-salti161 Would you recommend Illinois to prospective students?
@@CampusMania It depends on their preferences, as with every other university.
The university is situated in a college town, so someone who prefers to live nearby a city might find the campus dull. Personally, I like tranquil places, which is one reason I applied.
Another consideration is the major. The curriculum of the engineering and CS-related majors seems to be great. I have a friend studying CS at another university, and unfortunately, some of the required courses are a bit outdated, and the grading system is rather strange. That is, many CS courses are graded heavily on exams.
So far, I have taken CS124 and CS128, and both of them emphasize programming through machine projects and auto-graded programming challenges. I like this system better, as it is more fun and better prepares us for work. I heard that the engineering courses are also well-designed.
Ultimately, I think the best way a student would decide if the university if a good fit for them is by visiting the campus, talking to faculty, and checking the available opportunities and whether it aligns with their interests.
Beautiful. Remember marching in the Armory as part of ROTC.
How long ago was that?
@@CampusMania 1960
@@CampusMania 1960 to 1962. ROTC was required for 2 years.
@@joliettraveler WOW! That's a very long time ago! What do you think about the campus now compared to back in the 60's? How much did it change?
Excited to attend uiuc this fall!! Campus looks beautiful!
Congrats! What are you planning to study there?
@@CampusManiacomputer engineering!
@@mr.zzzzzzzzzz3311 That's great. They have world-class engineering programs there. You can't go wrong with it.
Congratulations on getting Accepted. Hoping to go in Fall 24' 🙏🙏🙏
@@kylecallis5668 Good luck!
Just the song alone makes me wanna go even more
Go go go!
UIUC is more than beautiful
Agreed.
That's awesome to have college campus walking and drone enthusiasts out there. Thank you very much.
You're welcome! 🙏
Going there for my graduation, thanks for uploading the video.
You're welcome. Congratulations on your graduation! What is your major by the way?

Oh, so you were studying online all the time? This will be your first visit to campus?@@andis9076
@@CampusMania yes and yes.
WOW! It's going to be a lifetime experience then! Enjoy it!@@andis9076
I got accepted 🎉 I can’t wait to attend. Senior year is over already, please
WOW! Congratulations! What are you planning to study there?
Nice University💞💞
Do you want to study there?
Meri beti ISI University Mein MS kar rahi hai.
@@MeenaKumari-tx4ls Does this mean your daughter is studying there?
@@CampusMania ha jee.
Beautiful video of a beautiful campus! Only minor disappointment is that you didn't show the Psychology Dept. building.
Thank you. I try to show as many buildings as I can. Sorry if I missed your favorite one.
miss the good old days
How long?
great memory
How long ago?
Would love to send my son here to study CS. The only thing worry us is the safety of that area.
What's wrong with the safety of that area? It looked very safe to me. It's a college town, I don't remember the last time I saw an unsafe college town.
as you're doing tours in illinois, can we get a bradley university tour
I'm not sure about this one, but maybe it'll happen!
please make a video on uw madison
Already in the works!
