    I can't begin to tell you how much your instruction has meant to me. I took up golf at age 62 (I am a lifelong athlete) and assumed that at that age I would not find much improvement. The last couple of years has been an eye-opening experience. Two years ago I shot a 79 and last year scored 78, 76, 76. Much of this improvement has been the result of an enormous amount of practice and professional tips, particularly the ones I've gotten from you. Many thanks!

    I Finally discovered the beginnings of this my last time out and was comfortably under 90 for the first time in a while, I was confident of contact and distance and direction were much more consistent, easier too! This video was well timed for me as I can understand the effects of doing this, and now I have things to do so I can build on this.

    As usual Adam gives us something in small enough bites that we can can change our focus to build feel that really can't be done by the average golfer in the full swing. If you can't do it in a 50 yard shot, then there is no chance at a 200 yard shot.

    Adam I just bought thelag trainer clubs today. I tend to cast a bit with my driver particularly when into a lot of wind. I notice on video when I do that my right hip actually (unfortunately) at first moves to the RIGHT or away from the target which is horrible. I presume the lag trainer will force me to get my lower body moving first (to the left since I am right handed) if I use the trainer correctly?

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  Pƙed 4 lety +1

      Albert,
      Ultimately the preceding segments (hips, trunk, arms) decelerate transferring energy to the club through the wrists. Think of slamming on the breaks in a car, the passengers (club) accelerate forward.
      Hope this helps.

    Sorry but I totally disagree with lag. I cock the wrists with the main focus on the right wrist. I uncock the wrists with main focus on right wrist and hitting with the right hand. Controlling and hitting with right hand. I am a 2 handicap and commonly hit 16 greens in regulation. I recommend the main focus on release and getting rid of angle. Full extension at the time of impact.

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  Pƙed 3 lety +2

      Rich,
      I've taught golf for 35 years, so I've seen a lot of people struggle with the game. Some people do need to focus on 'getting rid of the angle' but only a small percentage, and almost invariably they are low handicappers or pros. Different pros even have different key's, or feels (Johnny Miller said he felt it all in the left hand, Hogan said he felt that he lashes his right hand........they look about the same on film).
      It's a game where each individual needs to work on what THEY need to work on, and find a way to feel that for themselves.
      All the best, Adam
