I suggest that the "fizzle spawners" should have different textures than normal ones. They should be cracked and have flames coming out of them with every fizzle sound.

This has been suggested on the SMP. But he decided that the sound effect makes ambush spawners enough different to tell easily and he doesn't want them to be too easy to tell apart

You can craft an elytra with phantom membrane, vault essence and magic silk (I think) so I would recommend doing that so it's easier to travel! :D

Edit: you used to be able to craft 4 planks from 1 bamboo and that was removed so he didn’t know about that

There's a blank spot on the knowledge screen now, and I think it would be interesting to turn that into a "Curses" section that lets you unlock things that will make the vaults harder, but also increase the rewards.
I just started a Vault Hunters server with my friends, already having a blast. I'm watching through the VODs as well so I can be a Vault Hunters expert to help my friends out

Loved the new animal pens! I wish I could do that in vanilla. Temple Hill is looking great! It had to be tough to get the palette squared away.

Yeah, I took pouches first too! Felt content with my storage at that point in time, and I already had gained an elytra and had dash for long distance travel. It's so nice having the filters in the bag!

When I got my first knowledge point I spent it on Storage Drawers and looking back on it I definitely should've gone for pouches first.
love the series so far, you have inspired me to try this pack, not sure if it is the world that has been generated or that the chromatic iron is very very rare, but have spent around 8-9 real time hrs trying to find it and ended up with 2 double chest of vault stone and 3 stacks of diamonds but no chromatic iron, keep up the great work.

the genderfluid bee is a really cool easter egg to the devs, plus it makes the bees look like they have a little jumper on!

Always a good day when we get VH upload! Currently also watching the SMP vods but its slower going lol
First mod I took was waystones as I didn't want to spend the time building a creeper farm for gunpowder for rockets to get from one biome to another for resources and such. Next mod will probably be a storage one to get that under control sooner rather than later as I'm content with shulkers and bundles for looting the vault. I like that there's no meta to go one mod or another.

I have not started playing this yet, and I gotta say, this version, compared to the 1.16 version, looks so much more fun and approachable. When I played 1.16 it took me like 8 hours before I was able to even properly start playing the mod, which was a pretty high ask, not to mention the really REALLY slow and difficult progress after that. With the whole tedious inventory management and pointless loot, etc, I didn't play as long as I wanted to. This looks a lot more fun, and I can't wait till I free up some time to play it (also waiting a little bit so you guys can iron out the bugs and fine tune things, whatever that would be).

I was wondering if Pouches or Storage would be better first because Pouches are pretty dank but you'll need to have lots of space to store all the stuff from your pouch so Storage could be better first, but I suppose you can always Craft more chests so Pouches probably are better to start with.
Pouches work great as an economy multiplier - making it easier (and even possible) to get so much more out of a single vault. As long as you don't reach Scar-level chest monster, is good :D
@@norbby42 personaly i don't think i would win much time from pouches as long as i don't have good haste to break chests fast as i'm fast to manage chests and shulkers, and i don't run out of space in vaults

I know it might be hard to do but could you possibly make a mod with just the jars and small fences it would really help me clear up my world.
When he released the update video for this patch he said the team does plan to release animal jars as a separate mod in the future.
Now that i'm thinking about it, Iskall got the Jar mod in hopes of finding another Elephant and having it not despawn on him.
It’s not a mod. Available from the beginning of the game now just to keep lag down on servers

Could you keep a shulker of extra scavenger loot and bring it into each vault in case its a scavenger one?? then you might be able to loot without worrying about it once you get enough scavenger loot, and still get the scavenger crate. btw love your vault hunters! :)
It is the most obvious answer. What else will he do with those items if he cannot turn them in for soul shards right now?
Not allowed unfortunately, scav items are NBT tagged to the vault you found them in. Unused ones are just for the soul value, can be used to get more soul shards later on, so worth keeping

(as a genderfluid person myself) I love the addition of the genderfluid flag on the bee! It's always so cool to see yourself represented in ways you normally would not bee.
VH doesn't add that, I beelieve it's added by Quark.

you forgot to tell people to grab their world from the saves folder or their world will be deleted if their on singleplayer
also i feel you, i found next to no living chests in an easy scav vault and all i needed was a creeper eye (which was omega but still) i had 15 minutes and never found a living chest and had to bail lol

@@probatinos8409 i don't think so, if you go in your files and then look where that folder for VH is located you should be able to look to see if Curseforge backed up a save of your old version, if it did then it will be in there, if not then your screwed lol
(it will be in a folder called instances)

@@probatinos8409 Curseforge > right click on Vault Hunters > Open Folder > use whatever tool you use to see where the folder is located which should be instances > look in instances and if there is more than one copy of Vault Hunters 1.18 then open it and look at the saves folder to see if your world is there

I went with Create as my first mod.
I was interested creating both a Vault Hunter and Create worlds, so I decided to do both at the same time.
Gg! On being patient enough to save up for that! Pouches is a must next mod!

I have enough ressources to craft 6 more knowledge cores, but I dunno, I don't feel like it right now XD.
I'm thinking about waystones, torches, drawers, and level 2 of pouches.
I'd like to add Botania too. Apparently it's not very good, but I'm in for the fun! (Although at a cost of 18 knowledge points.. Yikes!)
Having played both separately, and did the same thing in 1.16 vault hunters... It's just not the same thing.
The things you can do in create just aren't viable in vault hunters due to the vault material cost additions.

Some costs are indeed absolutely insane, with some things making absolutely no sense. A water weel requires a slightly bigger investment than a steam engine, for example (although you get an infinite water bucket as well), and mostly twice the black opal compared to a windmill.
I have 13 stacks of larimar in my chests, a very solid supply of chromatic iron, so much drift wood I can convert it to soul shards, and enough gems to make 20 POGs. Vault diamonds aren't an issue either.
Really, it's just the black chromatic steel required for engines that is annoying. Even then, I think that one steam engine I have will be enough for my second farming project. I have a water weel (for aesthetics), and it's just enough for powering my first farm area.
So I should manage with the costs. I had no intention of making huge insane contraptions anyway.
2 things that I would change/fix with the jar things
1) don't limit the usage to a stack for breeding materials. This limits every breeding session to only 32 more mobs.
2) have some form of a protection lock on it so you can swing to your hearts content and still have 2 mobs left instead of just accidently killing them all as you forgot to check how many were left in it.

The sky vaults world is actually super fun! I went into it because I didn’t like how grindy it felt my crystals were getting in 1.16 and honestly prefer it over normal!
You are still supposed to start making crystals so farms will have to be made eventually
I love sky block packs so also went for Sky Vaults & loving it, but I'd say its more grindy early game than normal terrain as you can't just go mining, you've got to get EVERYTHING from the vaults which slows you down some. But it does feel great playing it this way

My only problem with this pack is it's balanced around playtime and multiplayer. Some people neither have the time to play 8 hours everyday like VH smp crew, nor friends to commit to this modpack with. I saw a post in reddit about this and I saw a lot of people agreed and were thinking the same thing as me, there were some nice ideas there. The vault plating change might be a small change but it just reminds me of this issue. Love the pack, amazing work.
Keep in mind that this modpack is still Alpha at this point. With 1.16 they balanced the pack for singleplayer before official release so hopefully we'll get something similar for 1.18

I have only played like 4-5 scavenger hunt vaults, but with all the changes to them I like having the turn in points being relatively common. Between all the possible items now dropping regardless of completion, and also the fact that you can only turn in one at a time, I think them being rare in the vault just results in forcing you to ignore looting POIs to first find one and then clearing that room/area so that its safe to do large dumps of resources at once.
Them being common means I can be sneaky and slip in items while running from the horde of mobs chasing me because I still haven't found a good sword since the one I got at level 3...
