I like to add something that I feel many trainers in BDSP do not know about. A mechanic from Sword and Shield has been brought to the remakes: the ability for parent Pokemon to also learn egg moves. You need two of the same Pokemon [Shinx and Shinx for example], a parent Pokemon with the egg moves you want, and a parent Pokemon with empty move slots [visit the Move Deleter to make room]. After about a minute of running around, both parents will have the same egg moves. This method is for those that either caught/bred for a shiny, but want egg moves for it, or giving egg moves to Pokemon you've grown attached to while playing the main game.

They’ve really improved QoL over time for the competitive side of Pokémon. Though if you’re looking to get together a team for when HOME compatibility is added, Poké Pelago from Sun and Moon takes out virtually all the work.

Partnered with the grand underground it’s def possible to get egg moves a lot easier. I caught a budew with seed bomb, evolved to rosella, bred with my torterra, then raised the new turtwig to evolve to torterra, and used that one to go into the daycare with mine and taught my starter seed bomb!

Of course to bring those pokemon back to your main save you will need either a second Switch (and a second game) or to wait for Home to add BDSP compatibility next year.

Another mechanic that some people don't know about is synchronize and natures. Synchronize makes wild pokemon have the same nature as your pokemon if it starts the battle which is helpful to getting those adamant, modest, jolly, and timid natures on the right pokemon.

      @joshernsteen2066 Před 2 lety +11

    • @joshernsteen2066

Heart Gold and Soul Silver Shadow Tag works based on the speed stat of the pokemon. Wobbufeet needs to higher speed than the legendaries to make them unable to run away, that was at least how in worked in those games intentionally on purpose. The only other way, I believe, to make them not run away is to have a Spinerak or Ariados use spiderweb on them with higher speed, but I believe that you cannot switch the pokemon out, I think, or otherwise the effect will wear off, I am not 100% sure of this though. Using Mean Look on Golbat or Crobat definitely wears off if you switch it out after the attack gets used. The roaming legendary was definitely running away from me then after I switched out the Pokémon.

5:35 What matters for Masuda Method is not actually the country you are located in but the language you are playing the game in. Eg if two Americans, one playing in English and one playing in Spanish, trade Pokemon they can still Masuda Method that way. However if one American and one British person, both playing in English, trade Pokemon the Masuda Method will not work as both of their Pokemon are "English".
You can tell if the Pokemon is eligible because there will be a little box on the info screen listing which language the Pokemon came from.

Didn't seem like you were doing it in the video so here's another tip that can be easy to miss. When you're selecting the number of things you want to buy/use/sell/etc. instead of pressing up, you can press right or left to go up or down 10. So if you want 100 of something just press right 10 times instead of holding up for a longer period of time...or worse, TAPPING up 100 times. And pressing left acts the same as pressing down, just by 10. So if you want to buy 20 of something and you accidentally tap right 3 times you can tap left once to get to 20. One thing though since the counter starts at 1 instead of 0, when you press right it'll go to 11, not 10. Just press down once to get to 10 or just don't worry about it.

Pro tip get the answers wrong on purpose in the gym with the questions. You want to fight the trainer with the drifbloom. Most of the post game is locked behind the National dex not beating the elite 4. One of the trainers has that ghost Pokémon which is probably the most missed Pokémon in game. There’s only one other one and that’s by the windmill only on fridays. The biggest tip I can provide is that "You do not need a Pokemon to match the typing of it's moves, just to use that move".
For example, Pikachu can use Surf and Dig
Drapion, Luxray, and Gliscor can learn fire and thunder fang.
Medicham and Elekid can learn fire/ice/thunder punch
There are limited fire types that are good in game, (even with houndoom). Finding Pokemon that can use counter type moves are very essential.
Even the electric Gym leader has a Raichu later on(rematch) that knows surf. It's a surprising element when using type advantage Pokemon.

Which reminds me when will there be a news on the fourth update patch for both Pokemon Brillant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl games so we can finally used the Wonder Trade and Global Trade Station (GTS). I know there's Link Trade but Wonder Trade is the most important part of the games and makes it a lot easier, because in Link Trade you can trade your Pokemon with another which is good but the problem is the trainer decision takes along time to decided or just finish Link Trade without trying.
That's why I prefer Wonder Trade because it's random and automatical trade without having to wait around. In Global Trade you can trade your Pokemon for another Pokemon by placng the name and trainer who seen that name will trade his/her Pokemon like magic. I've been using these opinion when I first played Pokemon X and Pokemon Y Games since them with the other POkemon games before the start of Nintendo Switch of Pokemon Let's Go Pikach/ Let's Go Eevee.
I don't know why they're not added to the games before released back in November but I'm guess that with Pokemon Legend Arceus release that they wanted wait a bit longer before it's finally updated but I'm hoping it'll happen at the start of February because I'm getting fed up of waiting and because be worth it🤞.

You are absolutely wrong. Munchlax can be caught on the few rare trees with Heracross, reuse that same tree. You can get him as soon as you clear Valley Windworks. You cant get him underground until I believe you have 4 gym badges could be wrong. But can definitely get him early on a tree just has to be one of the same rare tree Heracross comes off of.

I see so many people incorrectly state what the masuda method is/how its performed. its not about region. its not about what region or language your game is. its about what language the two pokemon being bred are. if my game is English from America and I try to breed one of my pokemon with an English pokemon from England, thats not masuda method. it doesnt matter what language your game is. it doesnt matter what region the pokemon is from. what matters is that the two pokemon being bred are from different languages. I can set my game to Japanese (which I do) and all my pokemon will be Japanese language and will masuda method with English language pokemon.
If my game is set to English I can masuda method using a Spanish with a Chinese pokemon. Even if I, on my American system in the American region; were the one who set two different games languages to Spanish and Japanese to get these pokemon to breed together.
TLDR; region means nothing for masuda method. your games language means nothing. all that matters is the two pokemon being bred together having different languages to each other.
really not that hard to explain but I see everyone constantly explaining it as "your games region with a pokemon from a different region". Region is a different variable that has nothing to do with masuda method, even though its also tracked in the pokemons data, its a hidden variable unlike language which is independent of region. Region is what your console is set to. Language is what your game is set to. (Japanese carts for pre-3ds, language selected at game start for 3ds, and console language [not region] for switch)
I have Japanese switch games and my system language set to Japanese, but my console region is set to US. My pokemon are Japanese language and can masuda with English language pokemon, even if I caught those English language pokemon on my own game by restarting the game with my system language set to English, even though its from a Japanese printed cart.
