With slides and camera recognition with moving sort arms this would work.
Simple color sensor should do the trick. No need for fancy cameras

Brushes herd dominoes toward a conveyor belt. Conveyor belt buckets dominoes into a hopper. Opening at the bottom of the hopper drops dominoes in front of a colour sensor. Sensor informs a carriage to move to one of N positions, where N is the number of expected different colours. Trap door opens to drop domino into appropriate hopper.

Amazing! And I love Dom’s wagging tail, arching eyebrows, and smile!! The next challenge for the Dominator, I think, would be to create loops of dominos at one end. That would allow a true domino experience of the entire set falling after tipping over just the first single domino. Lily still dominates Dom at that! 😊

You could easily change this to a route and situational analyzing dominator where a change in algorithm can detect and make decisions on where to place next based on the image uploaded into it's memory. This can help people work with the dominator where if you want to remodel the image you can reupload and the next design is easily be printed using dominos.

A small question about Dom. How much of a factor in the size of the dispenser was the platform driving it, seeing how much space between the dominoes and the square shape you wanted it to be? Could you have made it bigger to lay more, or was there a limiting factor, like the loader, or could you have made the platform smaller (making it heavier to compensate) and more maneuverable?

You did an art attack with a robot and dominos, all that was missing was the funky music as we watched the robot.
This reminded me of that older show, where the guy used to make murals from regular items, like a football goalie out of football equipment.

To be fair the robot also made mistakes. There were columns of dominoes that didn't fall. This project was freaking awesome, but I wish they expanded upon why that happened.

it all started with a vacuum cleaner robot and ended with a cleaning robot
What i love about this is that i wondered how the robot was balanced with that many dominoes and the funnels in front and then you see the back and its just a bunch of plates ziptied to the frame. It could only have been more perfect if duct tape was involved.
