  • Taking Folic Acid supplements is like using a tired horse drawing a 3-wheeled wagon as your primary method of transportation.
    You just don't do that.
Retire the horse out to pasture.
Retire the wagon as a garden planter. Or at a museum.
Folic acid is flat out OLD NEWS.
Out with the old. In with the new. In with the better.
In this episode on the Dirty Genes Podcast: Folate vs. Folic Acid, I give you the facts on folic acid. You know the ones that no one talks about except the researchers?
It's time you hear the truth.
    Here it is.

Removing folic acid definitely helps me. Every now and then I will break down and eat storebought baked goods and invariably regret it. I also find, if I do not eat leafy greens on a daily basis, it affects me. I find it very interesting that when I was a child, I loved liver, spinach, kale and green salads and did not care for cakes! I feel so fortunate, because we were poor, my mother shopped at the farmers market for our food and our sweet treats were homemade! Whole grain breads were cheaper back then, than breads made with white flour.
I learn a lot from you videos. I also have your book, Dirty Genes.

Actually, the change that made the biggest difference in my life is when I eliminated Omega 6 seed oils. Tiny amounts (2% of fats) of Omega 6 are essential, but more than that is a poison. The dose makes the poison. Even the small amount I was getting from eating out in restaurants once a week (they all cook with cheap veg oil) was too much for me.

I’m noticing more and more people (myself included because I’m currently 33weeks pregnant) who are suffering from swelling. Im not only wondering for those who are pregnant, but those who aren’t. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of information out there on edema that doesn’t have a bunch of question marks around it. I’m wondering what people can do to reduce swelling in a permanent and healthy manner, not the temporary relief western medicine doctors suggest.

I have a problem. I use a total of 4 dietary supplements all of which contain folic acid. That means I consume almost 3mg of folic acid a day. How do I counter any effects from the excess folic acid? Also, can you convert folic acid to folate somehow? I'm thinking by...1. Adding my B-complex supplement to yoghurt, kefir or apple cider vinegar for probiotic bacteria to - hopefully - take up and convert to folate. 2. Taking folic acid with minerals. Would either of these work? Thanks.

    • @ScreamingManiacs
      @ScreamingManiacs Před 2 lety +2

Get rid of the supplements. Use real folate. Dr Lynch taught us years ago that if a supplement is using one form of a cheap, synthetic vitamin that likely they use more than one. Check your B12 in those supplements. Look up his CZcams on the 4 types of B12.
I never heard him speak of something to take to make folic acid useable. Just to ditch it. I think you counter effects by not taking it and allowing it to work itself out of your body so that the folate can get in and work. I recall asking him (via chat in a live video) how to get it out of my body. He said you don’t have to do anything special .. and if memory serves I think he said it takes about a week. Also he has said that folic acid “gums up the works”. What I don’t recall him saying in this specific video is that folic acid is faster than folate. So it takes the same pathway - but it’s there first and then even if you’re also consuming real folate, you’re not able to get it properly because the folic acid is there kind of blocking it.
Lol sorry I wrote all in one block - just figured out how to move down a line.
My husband had a series of small strokes. He has an MTHFR genetic variant. I had to ask him numerous times to get a doctor to test his homocysteine. This is all stuff I learned because of Dr Lynch. My hubs homocysteine was high and a hematologist prescribed him an RX FolIc Acid. My husband doesn’t listen often but he knew something was wrong with that. So he came to me and I explained … he went to the doc who said ok you can, instead, take real folate. Same dose. There wasn’t a big Change in the follow up. But I sent him to a functional medicine doc (she is a regular family doc who takes insurance but has learned about functional medicine) and she gave him a folate with other b vitamins in it (if I recall, b vitamins work together) and boom it’s coming down! His homocysteine.
So. Thank goodness for people like Dr Ben Lynch who teach us. If not we’d still be waiting for changes that weren’t coming. We’d believe the doctor who is behind the times and prescribing folic acid to a man who can’t process it into a useable form. And who, finally, is starting to read labels and avoid folic acid after strokes that have caused him to be in physical, occupational and speech therapy all year at age 53.

@@ScreamingManiacs Wow! Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed response. I'll need to read this again (& take notes!), but there are a lot of interesting &/or important points here.
Let me just quickly explain why I asked my question. Where I live, people are not big on using supplements, & you usually have to buy them from pharmacies. Thus supplements are expensive, the variety is small, and it's often hard to find the better ones, e.g. l-methyl folate or methyl cobalamin. I use several supplement mixes, including a multivitamin. Unfortunately, each contains folic acid. Some of the formulations I use are just too good to discard. Example: one is an immune booster, and has l-glutathione, l-carnitine, co-enzyme Q10, ginseng, lycopene, selenium, zinc, other minerals & vitamins, etc. All good. Only drawback is a high folic acid level. Other formulations I use have good stuff, too, such as alpha lipoic acid, more coQ10 & glutathione, phosphatidyl choline, mixed carotenoids, vitamin K2, other fat-soluble vitamins, essential fatty acids, good levels of B & C vitamins, etc, but once again all contain folic acid.
So, I want to counter the high amounts of folic acid I get. I have no idea whether I have the MTHFR mutation, but I'm assuming that, even if I don't, excess folic acid intake is not good, unless you can counter it. One way I know is to use methylators, such as SAM-e, TMG, DMG, MSM, etc. But these, too, are hard for me to get, and the best I can do is to use an arthritis-combating formula that contains MSM. By the way, B12 in my supplements is cyanocobalamin. Not the absolute worst form (which is the "vegan B12" that's actually totally unusable), but not the best, either. So, same problem as the folic acid.
Your experience provides valuable insight, and I'll re-read this to "grab" points. I'll also check out more videos from Dr Ben Lynch. Maybe he provides more useful information regarding folic acid. Thank you so much. PS. Sorry about your husband. I wish you and him well.

Here is another great health tip that will completely change your life. Always check your eyes for foreign objects. Most of the things we get inside our eyes will stay there forever and we will not be able to see those objects in the mirror. They are too deep inside. We have to learn to remove them ourselves, by using our fingernails. Unless we do this, we will never be completely healthy again, bc those objects do have an impact on our whole body. They really make everything worse. If we remove them, which can be a real nightmare and super hard, we will heal all of our body, permanently and instantly. You`re welcome, brother.

@@igitahimsa5871 Hey Im not surprised, that you have never heard of it before, bc I only could discover it, by being in a very detrimental situation in terms of health and because I have quite a good healing potential and methods I forgot to mention that I m using a special tongue breathing technique, for the most part, intuitively, which is a Kundalini thing.I guess this allows me to control my whole system in a different way, than people that don`t do this. Only bc my immune system was compromised for many years, bc of external parameters for the most part, especially bc I was breathing black mold so much due to insufficiently constructed bathing rooms, in my country and in this world and due to other inhumane and very unhealthy parameters, like being unable to ventilate the apartment, bc of too much ugly and unhealthy smells, like strong cheap fat or very cheap perfumes or strong odors in the air or because of many other toxins or bc of too much long term noises.. I felt bad for many yeras. I sometimes still do, bc I still havent found a humane apartment by now, where this doesn`t happen. However because of that, my immune system was down for years and I felt very very bad. No physician helped me with my situation so I had to start to help myself, bc of the strong pain that I experienced on a daily basis. I also started to learn everything new from scratch, especially in terms of body feeling and ito of my mind. This is why I started to check my body from scratch. From this moment, I discovered and understood the way my ( our) body works, frrom a different, new perspective. I also realized that I had foreign objects in my eyes and bc I was aware of that, I also knew when I got new objects in my eyes, bc I knew how it felt when that happens. Then I started to try to remove them, which took years to learn, bc it is so complicated and hard to achieve, bc our eyes are so, tight, and soft inside. I could feel that most of my issues did get better, when I removed a little bit of those things in my eyes. So I continued and realized that after I (we), work on removinng an object, for a long enough time, it will after some time, be removed completely.. My migranes and my eye issues got better., just like my whole body.I just didnt stop to investigate or research my own health situation, bc I could feel there is something to this and it looks like Im right. Also when your health is that compromised, you feel effects or each issue, like 30 k times worse. This is why it was relatively easy for me, to discover this.. Only 2 days ago I again almost had to throw up, bc of external parameters. I tried everything, like cleaning my whole body, eating good, sleeping enough, but nothing ended my migranes, until I started to remove the foreign objects from my eyes again. Today my migrane is gone and I can sit here, without feeling extreme pain, just bc I know about the connection between my eyes and the rest of my body. In short, I only know this, bc my life is a hell and bc I m so tough, mentally and supercurious and bc I wanted to decrease or end my daily suffering.Another important info is, if you have one or more objects in your eyes, you will not be able to take a full deep normal breath anymore until it has been removed again. You also won`t be able to cough yourr system free. It will be blocked, permanently bc of that. It will also create other internal issues, like it will mess with your brain , your eyes and especially with your throat, gut and digestive system, but also with your limbs, shoulder, neck, back, hands and feet. It also will reverse arthritis like sicknesses, depending on how much damage has been caused already,oc.
There is one more very important, but also info to this. Because it messes with your throat so heavily, it needs to be cleared , ALL THE TIME, which is life destroying, but necessary, bc liquids and other stuff like small pieces of food, can and will ( due to those foreign eye objects) enter the breathing system and create new blockades, which needs to be neutralized, immediately, constantly. It`s super ugly and a real drag. Its one of the most serious negative side effects of that health issue. It cna happen all the time, when we push those objects into positions, that extremnely impact our breathing system.Sry for the very long comment, but know you already know a lot about this.

@@igitahimsa5871 Ok np . First of all you must never use liquids at all. If you want to remove liquids, you need to wash your fingerrs first, than you need to go with your fingertips from the top of your eyes to the bottom, several times, ( rarely more often, unless they are super sticky or super harmful) after you washed your finger again each single time, bc of the surface tension of your fingers. If you don`t wash them each time, the surface tension will be detrimental after you have touched the inside of your eyes,or anything else, for the first time.Even if you get rain or water drops in your eyes, iits always an impact when it hits your eyes with a certain velocity and that impact creates an unhealthy point, which immediatley needs to be removed agani, by using your finger and a certain degree of pressure. If you move your finger over this spot like 3 or 4 times in the same way, it should be ok again. You gonna feel, when you pull the liquid out of this unfortunate spot again. This is important. This is why eye doctors are making a mistake, when they give you eyedrops, iwhile you have objects in your eyes, because they can ( thats hard to put in words) be in an unstable position in your eye and the liquid can make this situation even worse. Everything that affects this unhstable spot lkie that, will make things worse. So if you get any liquid into your eye while you are in that state, you ALWAYS need to reapair that spot, by removing the liquid again, until it feels homogenous again, bc the tensioin of the liquid will make it very hard, to work on removing those objects. You simply won`t be able to reach them with your fingernails so easy anymore, bc the liquid is problematic in terms of that.
To your question how to remove those objects. Honestly its maybe impossile to explain it to you in words over the internet. I guess it would be much easier if I could show you how to do it.However, Im gonna try to put it in words for you. So there are certain principles when it comes to removing objects from your eyes, that NEVER change and this is how Im doing this. I m using those constants, as a beacon, because we are basically blind, when it comes to this issue. Also I have to check each and every move , while Im doing it, bc its so hard to remove even the slightest bit of an object. The most important trhing is the angle you use with your finger and the spot first make contact with your fingernail inside of your eye. YOu have to have an appr. understanding, where this object is, how it is going to move, how hard it is and on which spot you need to work on next, in order to make it work another time. Its a lot of trial and error and if it feels better, you are gooing into the right direction, if the irritation is getting stronger, you are going into the wrong direction. You always have to keep working into one direction with your fingernails and avoid to move this object into the wrong direction, which would make everythign worse. You also have to clean your fingernails very good and very fast after ewach cleansing cycle, which is the most annoying part of this whole thing. If you don`t you will reinsert those parts under your nails, into your eyes, the next time you want to remove another bit of the object. Its tricky, but fortunately I know it all, by now. Again, if you want to remove an object, it will take at least some days or weeks untless you make a very lucky move, which sometimes happens and a real big piece will fall out at once.
Always take care of the angle, the pressure and the duration of your fingermovements, bc sometimes you have to move the finger way beyond the eyes until you reach your cheek,bc otherwise the object would fall back into your eyes. This is why you sometimes can damage parts of your face, while you are working on it, bc of the extreme repetition of your movements and the physical stress which is a consequence of your efforts. If you really don`t get it out, make super slow movements like in slow motion. This always is working for me, as an emergency plan. Also you will make mistakes and you will make things worse sometimes. This is unavoidable, bc of the way those objects are moving, In those moments you have to be extra cool and stay very calm, bc they are decisive. In those moments, you can make a real leap forward in terms of health or you can make everything way worse. this is why sometimes the eyes will swell, bc those objects are too irritating in certain positions. If this is the case, you need to work on removing them again until this is done and you can work on the next one. Otherwise, this is going to produce a lot of unpleasant moments for you.
However to really make you understand how it works, I would have to show you in person or on an enlarged computer generated model. The thing is, its all about the way our eye muscles are moving. and how therefore objects in our eyes are moving. Once you figured that out, you are a step further. There always only is one exit. No matter on which object you work, you will get stuff out only in one way and the body will tell you which way to go. You don`t have a say in this, you are a listener and a drone that needs to execute the orders or commands of your body. This is how you should think about it and it will only work in one direction and way. Hope this is helpful. Like I said I would have to show you in person.Another tip : If you feel it but cant get it out, try a higher angle or position or move a bit to the left to the right or try to move slower, you know. Its annoying but this is the only way I know of.Yoiu only truly can understand it, if you undertsand the mechanism behind how your eye is working and if you make it a routine for yourself. It will always be tricky, annoying, psometimes very painful if you cross certain borders and never a pleasure until all is out again. After you remove a good amount, most chronic pain will vanish immediately, but you will not be finished, then, until everything is free again, which will free all of your body, too.And always try to hold the kind of inner pressure you need while you remove it or the position of the object in which you can reac hit best, by using your thoughts and your inner pressure, for as long as you work on a very painful spot for instance, which most probably will not be enough sometimes. If this is the case you have to get it out another way again, by making it change to another position, in which you can reach it and pull it out. Its all trial and error and a lot of unpleasant moments and feelings. Sorry, that I can`t tell you the opposite. You can start anytime you want and start doing it anytime, but if you increase your awareness, you will be able to feel, when those objects come closer to the outside of your eyes on their own and this will be the best moment to try to remove them, whenever this happens.
Remeber : 1 Removal attempt 1 fingernail cleansing
During this cleansing , you often will have to hold the exacty eye pressure ( only if it really feels super irritating, like when it lies in between two sections that feel relieving) you had, after you removed the finger, which needs practice I guess.
If the fingernail of your left or right thumb ( depending on whether you are working on your left or right eye) also is full, you will have to remove the crap from it, too Then you can remove the dirt under your main nail again, bc there is enough room under those nails again, to hold the pieces that are still inside of your eyes. This is how it works, in theory. You really would have to see the movements, though, bc it will take years or at least months to figure them out imo. Tbh its a joke that we are forced to do it ourselves. In a normal world we should be able to go to ANY hospital, where they simply could give you a narcotic, pull out your eyeballs a little bit, carefully remove all supertiny and big objects and it would be good aghain, after 1 day, not after 10 years. This is how we know, that this world is not the world we should live in right now. One more important thing. If you try to remove objects, you need to keep your eyelids closed, like in a super comfortable way, bc like that its possible to hold the prefered inner eye tension, when it hurts or feels very irritating. And at the beginning, moving those objects over a certain point, will hurt a lot. Thats unavoidable, but this will stop after a while. Sometimes it even can feel like you have a shard or splinter in your eye, though its only the way those objects feel like, when you have too much of them inside of your eyes.
Also you never must touch eye accidentaly,or half hearted, bc it will negatively impact the situation and your long term pressure. It will make the object move in a wrong direction. Any wrong physical, bvt also mental impulse, that doesn`t follow certain rules, will make the situation worse.Sometimes, when you work at the very outer area, of your eyes, like when you try to reduce the size of a small piece of stone or something, you can make a series of finger movements, without having to clean the nail each single time, but thats nothing, beginners would be able to do,imo.Start by try to figure out where exactly in your eye is the spot you need to start working on.and don`t forget to constantly clear your thraoat while you are doing it, if you feel like you have to, bc its all connected, and if you don`t do it, it will make things way harder for you or maybe even impossible.Always try to aim for the spot in your thraot, that will enable you to breathe normally, even if its only for some minutes. Thats an important mechanism, bc when we remove those objects, we can get some serious side effects, which require an immediate intuitive reaction. The throat is one perfet example of it. This might only be true for people, which are in a very compromised health state, though Im not sure about that. I just checked it again, you do it with already comfortably closed eyelids

@@igitahimsa5871 I forgot to mention one very important thing. Whne you come close to your eye with your nails, you have to tighten your eye muscles, so that the object(s) won`t slide into a detrimental direction or position, depending on which area you are working on.Its an intuitive process or thing. Sometimes you have to hold an exact eye muscle tension, for as long as one or more areas remain problematic and you can open your eye again, withouth feeling any irritations. Also sleeping or any external parameters like a change of temperature, pressure, air quality or a change of heart activity, will also change the eye situation. and remember, first find the entry or fingernail spot and the exit spot, then start to remove the object and all pieces that are related to it untill the whole object is out. Then find the next one and so on, until everything is out. If you do this for a long enough time, you definitely should feel a very strong positive difference, permanently. Sometimes you have to be very determined in your movements and almost aggressive, but still gentle. I mean sometimes yit takes a certain force to break the object into smaller pieces,, when the object . If you do this, you have to be very careful, you always have to be very careful, while you are doing all of this,so try to be gentle, even when you have to make very forceful movements, once in a while. If you want to break an object, aim for the spot you think is the right one and then apply a precise pressure with your fingernails 8 which should be cut) and clean, to break the object into pieces, especially if its a piece of stone or mortar or dry paint or a huge sand corn. Also while we remove those objects our bodies will feel like they are intoxicated until those pieces are all out, so it takes mental and physical strength and endurance to go through all of this, willingly and definitely a change of lifestyle, to some degree, at least for the duration , people are working on that. If you still can`t reach it, just turn your head to the left or right side, while you are trying it. That should help. You just need to stop at a certain point and angle, if you move your head like that and you should have a much better access, to those objects.
PS : I figured out, that the nose kind of works in the same way, especially when people are heavily intoxictaed, but thats another story.
