I'm honestly laughing at this point....just diagnosed with autism in 2020 - which comes with the comorbidities of MCAS and EDS, which along with everything else in 2020 and my life prior got me the diagnosis of PTSD, so....now: I'm ASD, MCAS, EDS, PTSD & MTHFR....at least the last one has the decency to sound like a cuss word. Seriously, prayers for anyone and everyone who might be reading this - life does always get better, I refuse to quit and pray you do too. @@KB-sf6nt I don’t need to explain that to you. Vaccines save lives. So yes I will inject myself if it means I won’t get sick and I will inject my children so they won’t get a potentially fatal illness and die. Science proves vaccines work and there is currently no other alternative to the injections. In the case of folic acid there is an alternative methylated form to keep us from having babies born with neural tube defects, so in my case, with a double variant of C677T then I’m gonna go with the methylfolate. If there weren’t an alternative, and I were pregnant, I would still take the folic acid because science proves it greatly reduces the chance of neural tube defects. Look up MethylPro it’s L-Methyl-Folate at the same dose as Deplin. 15mg x 90 for $75 direct from their site or $99 on Amazon. So a 3 months supply is less than a one months supply of Deplin. The only reason Deplin is so expensive is because it’s being sold as a medical food requiring a prescription. However because it’s still a vitamin there’s nothing preventing it from being sold as a normal vitamin. Like there’s over the counter supplements that contain branded Deplin, just at a super low dose relative to the normal dose.
There’s a bunch of reviews on the site and from Amazon talking about people switching from Deplin.

You don’t want to take folic acid if you are MTHFR because you’re going to have a harder time processing it into methylfolate. Sorry, but I am not a physician (only a biochemist) so I can not do clinical work. Ask your primary care physician. I discovered that my MTHR gene was about 50% of normal when I had my 23andMe test and other genetic testing services should provide similar information. You may want to ask them or others about their test results. I'm not sure how often HomoCys is tested for ckinically, but a good internal medicine physician should be able to get that test for you.

This not medical advice, only information. There are several vitamin products that combine B12 and methyl folate. I have not read of B12 being toxic. Folate of more than 5000 mcg/day can mask pernicious anemia, which is most often due to the inability to utilize B12. Some people have a defect in their intrinsic factor produced by stomach parietal cells and can not bind B12 from the diet. Proton pump antacids reduce intrinsic factor production because they also turn off acid production by parietal cells. B12 deficiency is thought to be a major cause of peripheral neuropathy in the aged, probably because of decreased intrinsic factor production. B12 injections are sometimes used. Always talk with your physician before taking supplements.

There is several study of 5mtfh being used at 7.5mg and 15mg in conjunction with antidepressants. Those doses are extremely high however. A dose that high can be obtained with a prescription if your pharmacy carries it, you would need to call and ask. Not all pharmacies do.
You can buy the supplement (I use jarrow or life extension brands) however most OTC doses are 400mcg to 1000mcg, so in order to reach the above does of 7.5/15 mg you would need to figure out the dosage 🙏🏻 and as always, talk with your physician before starting any new supplements 🙏🏻🌈

I dont have information about any mutations in me or my family. But I do have history of depression and schizophrenia on both sides.
I take this tablet daily: Vitagreat (Indian brand) with the following composition:
      Mecobalamin 1500mcg
      L methylfolate Calcium 1mg
      Pyridoxal 5 phosphate 0.5mg
I was diagnosed with a long standing B12 deficiency so I also take an additional dose of B12 1500mcg subligually.
I would suggest you start with a small dose. These are water soluble vitamins that are washed away in the urine if in excess. So I wouldnt worry so much about overdosing.

Hi, I have mthfr mutations and have had depression for many years. I started methyl folate 1mg plus Thorne methyl b complex. It worked so well for about 2 weeks with my depression being lifted. It was really quite miraculous. Then it stopped working sadly. What do you suggest? I read that it can help at first, but then stops.

Thank you for saying that piece at the end regarding vaccines. For some reason a lot of people in the MTHFR community are saying we shouldn’t have vaccines. This is absolutely ridiculous to say and it’s also dangerous.
