Spent 30 minutes online trying to find some sort of known alphabet (real or ficitonal) to see if you had maybe gotten it from there. No results. Unless you happened to know about a very nieche language used, my guess is you actually just deciphered the text either by trial and error, or by using a respective tool for it.
Because the translation is definetly correct. You can actually see that the symbols each represent a letter when compared to this translation.
Mark you should really play a game called In Sound Mind. its about a therapist going into the recordings of his patients after some sort of world or town crisis and figuring out the horros that happened to them. there is so much story and element to the game i know you would love

3:47 Fun fact, when you remember something, you're actually remembering the last time you remembered it, which is why, as Mark explained, memories can change over time.
Cool i did not know that
this isn't that fun of a fact tbh
So we are playing a game of telephone with ourselves and somehow losing.
So we don’t actually remember anything, we create a new memory based on the last time we thought of an old memory
@@placeholderblankspacean interesting fact perhaps?

One, I love just how clever that minute detail was. Just the subtle 2nd beep of the metal detector to let you know you're not the only entity there.
Two, I LOVE how quickly Mark caught onto it, and the immediate respect he showed for both the execution, and information.
omg i was wondering what he was pausing for lol
@@SarahHarrisonSquared Bro I went *cold* when I heard that 2nd beep. I one hundred percent thought he was gonna turn around for a jumpscare, and the fact that it never happened only made the dread worse.
Thank you for explaining, went way over my head lol
@@lilduckyisopod9448I had to pause the video in awe at that point. It's brilliant. First beep sets off your "what was that" instinct, then you calm down because you realise it was the metal detector. Second beep, you don't care at first because you know what it was, and then you go full panic mode because "oh shit that WASN'T ME."
It's really weird because the second beep can't be heard when played on my TV and I couldn't tell why he paused but when I looked it up on my phone, I can hear it.

Hey, if any of y’all remember Presentable Liberty (a game mark played many years ago), there’s a remake in the works. It was a beautiful game, it touches on many aspects of loneliness and how it can lead you down a dark path. The original game maker took his life. The game creators are donating a portion of the game purchases towards suicide prevention in his honor. I would love to see mark play the remake once it comes out. I feel like it would be a good throwback and full circle for a lot of us.
I loved presentable liberty, a remake would be awesome! I really hope Mark plays it!
That's devastating to hear, it was such a great remarkable game and with such a dark subject, it saddens Me to know the creator toke his own life, I hope he at least found some rest.
8:00 Like any true Midwesterner, Mark was fine until he realised he had to go into the basement, ...and I felt that hesitation and 'oh GREAT' in every fibre of my being.

Ngl i thought he said “Oh. Greg-“
As a kid I used to feel like this all the time, but my laundry room is in the basement now. The only time I get the "Oh, GREAT" feeling is in the summer months when we're prone to getting bats down there. Funny thing about storing memories on VHS tapes; I can't recall a lot of stuff from my childhood from my own point of view. Pretty much all of them are in a third person perspective because of the home videos my dad used to record. So in a way my memories are all stored on VHS (well, backed up to DVDs now 😅) and when I think back to those "memories" it's not the actual point in time I recall, but the memory of me wathing the video of that point in time.
So the concept of being able to have access to a library of ALL my memories and not just Christmases and Birthdays would be honestly just amazing.
BDG had a good VHS video he made sort of about that. Kinda spooky vibe to it too.
