This game is so bizarre. Metamorphosis being right on this guy's desk first thing upon starting the game, the old lady, the employee just screwing off to the back room while there's still someone there shopping, the player just deciding to enter in through the back door into the staff room without a single thought, no one reacting at all to the car crash, and then the game just abruptly ending after running the monster over like roadkill.
What a trip from start to finish.

The story of Teke Teke was told by my English teacher who taught our Japanese class at our school (he lived in Japan for over 20 years it made an interesting person) and he is a great story teller so when he told this story it scared the shit out of me, and my class. The girls made up rumors that Teke Teke was living in our school's bathroom (it was in the basement of the school and old as FUCK) and it became a school legend that people still think she haunts the stalls along with another ghost that haunts the far left stall.
I think there's a myth called 'Kashima Reiko'. Same thing happened to her as Teke Teke, but she haunts school bathrooms. When I first heard of it, I was terrified of any public washroom that looked really run down lol

I absolutely adore the legend of Teke Teke, it’s a Japanese folk legend about this girl who was bullied constantly, and one day when she was running from her bullies she fell into the tracks and was cut in half. She now spends her days trying to find a new pair of legs, and to get her revenge on those who hurt her. In the legend she wields a sickle and not an axe, since she lived in the countryside with her bullies. Freaky shit, it still creeps into my mind every so often. I’m nowhere near as scared of it anymore, though.
I'm desensitized to horror games by now, but I agree with Mark, that jumpscare made me jolt back.
The reason for all the convenience store horror is that there are convenience stores every couple of blocks. Theyre so common that I'm sure there are some creepy and unsettling ones. EDIT: My girlfriend just moved from Japan. Convenience stores everywhere, some are pretty run down and passed along through generations. Some store owners live out of them. I'm sure many have died in them.
Also people find stuff scary that is relatable and going to a convenience store is something I feel everyone has done at least once
You've been to a convenience store that isn't uncomfortable and weird?
also convenience store are terrifying especially at night. Lot's of crimes happen around convenience stores too.
I bet it was because in Japan the don't really get lively late at night I mean they have curfews and such but they also just mostly stay indoor unless you are at the cities.
the thing is convenience store are open 24hours and it is just odd feels to be the only one awake at night when people don't really go out at night and guess what, the most possibly reason for a person to go out at night is just because they need to buy something from a convenience store
but yeh I guess most of the horror games are set at night so my point is Convenience store is one of the place to go late at night. You would even do it with a purpose not just as random as "lets investigate an abandoned house at night" so the fear is very relatable
@@Joural0401 I was thinking to myself, I'm pretty sure I've never been in one that felt uncomfortable and/or weird, but then I remembered one i briefly called into on my old delivery route. Sorry, 2nd grade as in 2 years after Kindergarten? Or 2nd grade as in like high school? Sorry I was just a bit baffled that a tiny little kid was doing a literature assignment on urban legends lol 😅 here in the U.S. 2nd grade is like 7 year olds and usually 2nd graders don't have literature assignments lol I was thinking like 'what kind of genius school did this guy go to as a kid?' 😆
Dude. This same exact thing happened to me in 4th grade. A group of kids just did a 10 minute presentation on creepy Japanese urban legends.
It's pronounced Tek-a Tek-a, Teke Teke. It's because when she crawls around, her nails make a teke teke sound. Teke teke, is a Japanese urban legend about the ghost of a schoolgirl who is said to have fallen onto a railway line, where her body was cut in half by a train. She is an onryō, or a vengeful spirit, who lurks in urban areas and around train stations at night. Since she no longer has a lower body, she travels on her hands, dragging her upper torso and making a scratching or "teke teke"-like sound. If she encounters an individual, she will chase them and slice them in half at the torso, killing them in such a way that mimics her own disfigurement.
The only supposed way to survive an encounter with Teke Teke is not to run when seeing her but to get down on your stomach and crawl away only using your hands. It watches you till you leave the vicinity but will spare you. Unless of course you run.
Is she looking for a mate?
Japanese urban legends are always so scary like Jesus Christ
Or a dumbed down verion is Tech Eh Tech Eh
But see that’s what confuses me! If she came back as a vengeful spirit because she got cut in half then proceeds to do the same thing to others, how have no other Teke teke popped up then to exact their revenge on her?! XD
the sheer disappointment in not being able to steal was really funny

Teke teke(pronounced ‘teh-keh teh-keh’) is from a Japanese urban legend regarding a legless ghost girl who walks on her hands. ‘Teke teke’ is supposed to be Japanese onomatopoeia representing the sound of her elbows dragging on the ground as she moves. Upon encountering an individual, she is said to cut their body in half to make them just like how she is.
Hmm I always thought the "teke teke" sound was akin to the sound of the train going by because she died in a train accident according to a version of the legend. Now that I know it's her elbows that makes it even more creepy lol
I heard that it was her claws from one story I've read that made the teke noise
@@CJxLuvly the version that i read is that she was pushed into the train rails by some school bullies, and then she takes revenge on them
Lixian should probably make a horror game where when you start, the start menu already has you in the location, just to fulfill Mark's wishes.
Is it weird that as soon as I first heard his idea for a start screen horror game, it sparked me to start trying my hand at game design? It’s a really cool concept, and I know enough about horror that I think I could do a short-and-sweet horror game that doesn’t rely on cheap jumpscares
This game is based an Japanese legend called "Teke- Teke" , it is about a woman who was in the Japanese army. The men soldiers were making fun of her and pushed her on a train track. She was sadly cut in half, the legend says if you go in a empty dark road at night in Japan, run in circles whilst saying "Teke-Teke", and look around you will see her. A distorted woman figure with no legs running towards you. You may think you can out-run her because she has no legs, but she's very fast. If you summon her it's over, she will chase you and kill you.
There's a different interpretation the most common one is that she was a school girl
