Was doing 100g protein a day and 200g fat. Gained weight. Thought it was the fat. Lowered fat, got constipated and still gained weight. Lowered protein to around 80g, added fat back. Losing the belly fat now and constipation no more. Everyone has to find what works for them.

Thank you for stressing in this Rebekah! I’m a convinced keto/carnivore eater and I feel amazing! I meet so many vegetarians, vegans or women in their 40s who have drastically reduced red meat consumption believing that’s the bad guy. I never want to state my point to avoid arguments but I feel sad for them.

Being looked at as a "bad guy," in health food store lines, especially on Sundays, when paying for shellfish, bacon, etc., don't bother me none. 😂 The planetary health diet/EAT-Lancet commission ought to be ashamed of themselves. Thank you, Rebekah, and have a great week!

Love it! It's also worth noting that if you are worried about protein spiking your blood sugar fat can and will spike your blood sugar as well. Just depends on whats going in in your body. And being paranoid about your blood sugar without having any idea what is happening with your insulin isn't helpful either.

This has been my experience. I was trying to raise my protein as I kept fats very high and my a1c went to 5.8. Recently after experimenting with lowering fats a bit, I'm now able to eat nearly 100 grams of protein a day without raising BG into concerning ranges. I was consuming more energy than my body was using.

Here's the deal, muscle is heavier than fat, because it is much denser than fat, so as the body burns away the fat, it uses the protein for repair and muscle growth. That means, that once you start a carnivore diet, you should be gaining weight while losing body mass.

I’m one of those 60 g a day people. And I am 130 pounds, working out four days a week. And always craving food in the evenings. I think I need to buy some collagen, because I can’t see myself upping my meat intake beyond where it already is. Thoughts? I don’t feel good if eat a full pound of meat a day, and no I don’t sleep well. Maybe I have low stomach acid too? Or Lyme? Next step: collagen. LOVE your videos btw, especially the ones about thoughts and mindset and biblical truths.

I struggle with adding fats because I gain weight so easily. When I take a break from trying to add fat, I get about 160g -180g of protein (135-140 is ideal weight). I don't sleep, I don't feel good after eating (anything), I'm tired after eating, my joints still hurt..... I suck at this.

Eating fat allows you to let go and use your body fat. If you don't get enough animal fats, raw or lightly cooked, your body might hang on to your body fat for dear life.

My body has had the hardest time letting go of anything 😢 I’ve been carnivore since Jan 1st. Had been keto since March 2019 lost 95 pounds over 18 months (went from 245 to 150) and felt great then got pregnant 2 yrs in and nursed for 2 years postpartum( stayed keto the entire time) & couldn’t get rid of 35 lbs from pregnancy. When I started carni I initially lost 15 lbs (190-175) but have fluctuating between the same 5 pounds since. I haven’t been very hungry most of the time, but try to eat at least 2x a day. I have noticed a few days I was ravenous and ate a Lot more than I usually do like 200g fat & 140-160g protein (all meat/dairy based)and the next day I was lighter on the scale? Should I strive to hit that daily? Am I chronically undereating and my body is in survival mode or something? My sleep has gotten much better since switching to carnivore, I think my hormones are getting back to normal finally (pretty sure I’ve been dealing with adrenal fatigue after last babe +nursing) If so, how to do I shake this and “wake up” the weight loss mode? I’m really struggling with eating enough I’m pretty sure bc when I do track I’m eating closer to 150-180 fat & maybe 110-ish g of protein. I’m 5’1” & currently 175 lb for reference. Any tips are greatly appreciated!!

    Hey Rebekah!
What do you think about sardines and the sardine fasts all carnivores seem to be doing?
I'm almost 6 months in to being a carnivore and I'm doing a sardine fast. I'm shocked at how I'm just not hungry. I've gained about 20 pounds on this WOE and I want to lose more than double that. I think the sardines are definitely doing something cause I feel different since starting to eat them. The scale is even going down a tiny bit and my stomach is slightly smaller.

I have this problem when I eat about 100 g of protein my bloodsugar is 90 to 100 and stays there all day. This is with no coffee . I am think maybe some weight lifting would help. I can get away with 80 to 90 grams a day only to split in 3 meals. I am 5.11 and a 170 pounds a bit over weight but not hugely.
I am thinking I have no muscle mass enough. What do you think?

Why is it recommended to double the fat of protein?
I could have 200g Fat and 200g of protein. I still get the same amount of Fat as 100g Protein and 200g Fat.
Does the protein offset the Fat?

I never shy away from hitting my protein goal which is around 150 grams, my issue is in order to hit that on this WOE I find I have to eat way more calories than I want and I’m not losing weight. 😢 I’m going on 6 wks carnivore and dropped 21.4 lbs in 33 day which was amazing and now nothing…. I had a few days where I was in more of a deficit and saw the scale drop but like I said, if I’m where I want to be deficit wise, I don’t get the right macros ratio. It’s exhausting as my why is mostly to finish losing all the weight that I’ve worked so hard on (before the carnivore diet) and see if a few other things would improve such as hair loss and eczema (which has gotten better). But mostly I need to scale to move or I don’t know I can carry on with this WOE.

Your body will release weight when it's safe to do so, not when you want it to. I lost 22 lbs in my first year, nevermind first two months. You're doing great... just need some Vitamin P (patience).

    • @Tiffany_55
      @Tiffany_55 Před měsícem +1

@@veeveeisallyouneed 🤣 I was reading your comment as I listening to Dr. Berry’s live and was talking about Vitamin P! I know in trying hard to be patient, I told myself no matter what I want to give this a full 90 days, but I know it may take 6 months or more to see the real benefits. I lost 185 lbs before carnivore by eating in a deficit and eating 35% protein/30-35% carbs/ and 30-35% fat and it went great. (And then I started eating carbs like crazy and started to gain weight back). But when I went down the rabbit hole of “plants are trying to kill you” I can’t undo the knowledge I’ve learned about how this WOE is so much better for you! I was struggling because things like the fructose in apples made me having crazy carb cravings. That’s why I want this to work, I just want the food noise gone. Anyways sorry for the rant. Lol

@@erika-py7ih I don’t think the high fat caused the migraine and joint to come back. I’m still eating a lot of fat (135-150 g per day). I think it was the low protein (80 grams per day) that did it. It wasn’t enough nutrition for me.
