  • In this episode we take A Closer Look at Captain Safety - a classic double black tech run up in the Garbanzo zone that is frequently used as an alternative to Upper In Deep. Specifically, we look at the following features:
    00:43 Entrance
    01:06 Rock Roll
    01:36 Big Rock Rock Roll
    02:33 Tree Chute
    Many thanks and a big shout out to Aiden Hutchinson, Jesse Lee Meyer, and Devin Reilly who helped in the production of this edit! Great shredding all!

    Another great video, Jamie. The editing does a great job of showing how to ride the parts of the features that often keep people from trying them out. The rock roll is much steeper than it looks. I remember when we took the A Line down the rock face and hit the mud patch in the rut = ejection. Nice work.

      +Jesse Meyer good times man. Really good times. I wish I had some of that on video!

    Love seeing the different line options in these vidz. Nice work man! 🤘

      Man I loved riding them and then learning how to put such an edit together! Thing is dude, there are lots of lines out there and I am sure these aren't the only ones! I gotta tell you though, that Big Rock Roll feature is quite intimidating when you first roll up to it. Long and steep with a turn midway through! Thanks for watching again!

    This is high effort content man, love all the work that went into editing it. Will for sure try this one next time i'm at whistler.

    Extremely cool break down of line choices. Thanks for all the editing work on that.

      +Johnny RC thanks for watching. Obviously these aren't the only line choices, but it's a start!

      Sure, but you're the only one I've seen do this, it's very cool. I do plan to get to whistler some day before I'm too freakin old to huck it. I geek out on stuff like this.

      +Johnny RC I hear you big time. Before my first trip there i was all over youtube trying to find vids to become familiar with the trails. It helps a lot tbh, but, nevertheless, the Gopro just doesnt do the gnar true justice! Its way bigger, steeper, gnarlier in real life! ;-)

      I saw the video of doing some drops on your trail bike, so I'd say the goal is set.

    Really interesting video. I feel like option C for the big rock roll would've been the best by looking at the video (but maybe not in person)

    • @Whitesnake2
      @Whitesnake2  Před 6 lety

      agreed on that front. I looked a few times from the top in the summer and it looked like the fastest line, but is also mega steep. I guess I didn't ride this one enough to make a run at that option C line. The feedback so far has been its the fastest line and all the pros take that one. Next summer!

    Sick videos man! As its ur last gopro 4 video, did u use a gimbal?

    • @Whitesnake2
      @Whitesnake2  Před 6 lety

      Unfortunately no gimbal. Just mounted the GoPro under my visor.

    Watched all of these now. Having never been to Whistler bike park to ride, but planning to this year, these are great. Still a work in progress do you plan on doing some of the single black/blue lines as well?

    • @Whitesnake2
      @Whitesnake2  Před 6 lety

      I do plan on doing a few of those too. Its all just dependent on the footage I have from last summer and I have a lot. So I am optimistic I can cover a fair bit of ground still. Thanks for watching em all! Which was your favourite?

    • @nicholasarmstrong8225
      @nicholasarmstrong8225 Před 6 lety +1

      Whitesnake2 really like schleyer and Detroit Rock City. Good length of videos also, 7min or so is perfect. To the point and doesn’t drag on. Nice steady footage helps too! So funny how GoPro makes everything seems less crazy.

    • @Whitesnake2
      @Whitesnake2  Před 6 lety

      Those trails are incredible trails indeed. The next level would be a gimbal but I just don't know - too much hassle when all I want to do is pump out laps and not mess around with a camera too much. I'll be dropping 'Upper Whistler DH' tomorrow. Watch out for it and thanks for the support Nicholas.

    That is absolutely ridiculous how flat that big roll looks on GoPro. In person it looks like it's a freakin joke it's so steep

    • @Whitesnake2
      @Whitesnake2  Před 6 lety

      +Sean Haran for sure eh?!? Especially the option c line I asked about in the edit. Better make sure those brakes are at peak power before making that attempt. #gottaseeittobelieveit thanks for watching Sean!
