Thanks man, I have been looking for my pavilion model (14m-dy0013dx) and I think this the closest model I seen that looks like mine, havent upgraded my RAM yet, am a little scared I might mess something up, havent even opened it and dont know if it looks like your model on the inside.

On the left of the memory modules there is a slot that looks like a M.2 slot. Do you know if it is reallly a spare M.2 lot ?

if you want to remove the wifi board and insert a ssd you will require a adapter. and modification to place the extra card: amzn.to/3exmTem

NOTE: remove the bottom cover to see (double check) to see how many ram dim you have.

Thank you very much for that great informative video. I just bought one of these with a measly 4GB ram (already uses 3GB just on boot with windows idling) so plan to upgrade the mem. I was worried it would be a nightmare getting to it but luckily with these models it seems pretty straight forward. Top vid :)

Mine isn't coming on after the installation tho.
And I tried switching the ram positions after the first time but it still isn't coming on.
What do I do
🫠Regarding your question, remove both rams, disconnect the battery and press and hold the power ON for 30sec, then plug-in the rams and then the battery and then power on and wait up to 15sec.

Regarding your question, you can place up to 2666mhz and the bios will auto adjust the MHz to the safe speed that it can use, you can't manually adjust it like in PC motherboard, because the option "XMP" is not available in laptops.

Hi this is a really helpfull video i placed the new ram (16gb) in slot 1 to replace my old ram (4gb) as ive been told you cant have them work together as they arent the same memory however now when i tried turing on the laptop it turns on but gives a blank screen , ive tried replacing the ram into the other slot but no change.

i would recommend you to keep it at 16gb, or get a 2x8GB that was the 2x8gb is better than having a single 16gb. because with 2x8gb you get a dual channel ram memory that is much faster than single 16gb.

@@uFixTek yes the ram is 1 16gb module do you have any other ideas my laptop bots up and the fan starts working but only for a few seconds then stays on the black screen for a minute , I be put the new ram in slot 2 and took out the old one , any other ideas
remove the battery and charger and all rams and press and hold the power button for 30sec then plug in the rams and the battery and charger and power on and wait 10-15sec for the motherboard to do a mem check.

I just bought one of these and it must be a newer build I do not see the RAM anywhere, when I remove the heatspreader, which is different in shape, there is only a 512 PCIe M.2 SSD drive?

im thinking about to buy x360 14-dy0010 that is the latam versio of this generation of notebook, so i was considering to upgrade it but does dual channel influences too much in case of having , 4 x 16 configuration to have 20 total ? i can upgrade my omen's ram , and put the spare one on this as is ddr4 too and putting the 4 left ram on and older laptop. i suppoe, kind regards and love that u have a ñ notebook too!

regarding your question: you can have 4 and 16gb if you want and the dual channel will be only up to 4GB on dual channel and single for the rest if you fill up.
you can always place any combination ram you like in GB but the dual will only work up to the smallest ram.

Thanks for the video, but I just wonder if there's any tangible benefit to upgrading from 8GB to 16GB? Isn't 8GB already a pretty beefy amount of memory for a Chromebook?

regarding your question: this is not a chrome book, this is powerful CPU and some applications do use over 16gb, but if you talking about the specific chrome book then sure 8gb on a chrome book its a sweet spot, on a chrome book there should be no need to go over 8gb, unless you doing some PLEX server or something a like.
The installation was smooth but if it doesn't boot up does that mean the ram is installed incorrectly?

regarding your question: do this exactly as i mention, #1 remove both rams place only the new ram on DIM1 slot then without placing the cover turn on the laptop and wait 5-10 sec to get a hp logo, once you got logo, then POWER off by holding the power button , then place the old ram on the dim 2 and then power on and wait 5-10sec and it should work. let me know how it goes

the battery is held down by 4 black screws that touch the battery (labeled "M2") and the cable simply slides out (make sure you slide back the connector straight).

Are you sure the highest RAM we can upgrade is 32GB? I've advised with HP and they said the highest is 16GB

Regarding your question, we have upgraded our clients laptop per request to 32gb without issues, but i highly recommend to keep at 16gb.
because up to 16gb you can use any sdram ddr4 up to 3200mhz.
but if you want to go to 32gb then you must bring down the ram speed to 2400mhz sticks, and only few brands work with this board.

Regarding your question, unfortunately the GPU is none up-gradable or can be added, there are many many components needs to be installed and a different heatsink and bigger charger and much more needs to be done, you better off with new laptop with GPU.
