I have been blessed to have several older women as godly examples. I am currently leading a group of women in Bible Study at our church that are in many different seasons of life - some are younger, some are my age and a few are older. I still feel called to do more. When I started my CZcams channel, it was my intent to encourage women to be the wives, mothers and homemakers that God intended them to be. You have inspired me to do more of that and to dive deeper. Several of my viewers are young women and I know that they are looking for older women to be godly mentors - even if just through CZcams. One of my role models is Mary Slessor. When she passed into eternity, she had spent her life and everything she had on sharing the love of Jesus. Her story is so inspirational to me. Gladys Aylward is another super inspirational role model. What strikes me about these ladies is that they started out with very little. They trusted the Lord for everything and He worked powerfully in their lives for His glory. I'm feeling convicted about living a self-centered life. I don't want be self-centered, but I know that I am in many ways. I'll be praying that the Lord shows me how I can put the needs of others above my own selfish desires. One area is this- I probably spend too much time cleaning my house because I'm so distracted and grumpy when it's messy. I could easily say that I do it for my family, but in my heart I know I do it for me. A clean house is good, but not if it gets in the way of something more important. Hmm, I need to pray for the wisdom to balance these things.
Thank you for sharing!! You are such a beautiful person inside and out! I love your heart for us younger women and older women! God is so good to have a beautiful place in His kingdom for each of us! God has been speaking to me about my thoughts, that I would bring them into captivity to the obedience of Christ! I especially need to be thinking positive thoughts about my husband! And the joy of the Lord is my strength! It was amazing, one day I was tempted to have negative thoughts about my husband but then God’s Joy just filled my heart and I had total victory over any negative thoughts I had!! Praise the Lord!
I bought the audio of the book and listen while doing dishes and the your video. I would love to teach/share this at church. Awesome study. Lot of thoughtful points at chapter’s end.
First question....absolutely!!! I turned 40 in January, my dad passed away in April...so this year has been more than difficult...and my dad's faith brought eternity to light even more for me, as he was praising Jesus on his death bed! I have a 5 yr old daughter...with 3 older brothers, so I am striving to learn how to parent a girl....You have been an amazing example to me...even just thru youtube!
I was wondering if anyone had advice as to how to approach teenaged daughters and their friends to join in on this book club. I feel compelled to do so but also nervous.
