Waterfall Pond in a Terrarium (biOrb AIR Redo)

- Five months back I made a bioactive terrarium setup in an Oase biOrb AIR. Unfortunately that one had issues that I discuss in the beginning of this video. I knew it was time to redo the biOrb and take the setup to the next level by introducing a pond. Many of you suggested this in the comments of the previous video, so I was excited to make it happen.
In case you missed it, be sure to check out the previous video:
• Bioactive Orchid Fores...
In case you wanted to learn more about the biOrb AIR or were looking to buy one for yourself, check out the links below! Just linking it up for you. I don't get any kind of compensation for it:

Also, just for the record you DO NOT need to spend a ton of cash to get a well established, highly functioning system. Check out my terrarium build playlist for more ideas:

Tanner, you deserve to hardscape the world.
No thank you and you must not go out side much
Definitely
Been getting requests to do something like this for quite awhile. I'm glad to have finally done it and I'm excited to share it with you. Like I said in the video, I'll definitely try to make this happen in a traditional closed terrarium as well. Let me know what you think about the new rendition of the biOrb!
Awesome build! I think you should think about putting a group of some kind of small frogs in there, they would definitely love the setup! :)
You should put poison dart frogs in there!
Two suggestions for sealed and wireless setups in a closed terrarium.
1.) Inductive charging using a low voltage DC pump. It would be easy to install a coil in the bottom of the terrarium and hide all the wires.
2.) A photopopper circuit with a low voltage DC pump. A shishi odoshi would work better with the photo popper.
I am surprised that you don't work for a zoo or the DNR or conservation society. I would think that there are a ton of jobs like that needing people like you to educate visitors and work on enclosures and natural habitat's for their animals . I think it would be a great job for you to look into/.
Can you ship this to Scandinavia please? This is next level stuff Tanner.
As the azolla multiplies, I cannot wait to see it pile up onto the rocks! This is lovely. Nice job Tanner!
You'll love how it looks in one of my nano builds then. Thanks again for sending it. What a great addition to the lineup!
@@SerpaDesign my pleasure! I knew you would love it!
@@SerpaDesign where did you get the azolla
@@RachelOLeary I'm a huge fan of yours
@@PrimordialChaos1 much appreciated!
You just put a bio orb on my wish list. A waterfall pond- genius! Like having a secret forest grotto in your living room.
Bio orb can be $450.00 +
Just so you know. Sadly for me its Way out of my price range.
😮
Honestly the highlight of my saturday nights is when videos like these come out!
Same dude!
A smoke followed by this! Saturday night!
Im going to be honest, that is Sad. Your life is Sad.
Same here
@@bartfart3847 difference of opinion chief, I dont feel sad about it and ive been doing a lot to prevent myself from feeling like that
however i dont need to validate myself to you, it seems like youre the sad one...
I presume this is the escalation process of building ponds. Ponds everywhere! Love the water features :)
Haha to some extent! Truth is that I love aquariums, terrariums and now ponds. The combination of projects makes for an even better project.
Awesome video! Your scaping is THE BEST! I can't wait to try scaping a BiOrb for an ant colony perhaps!
yes Mikey do it!
Do ittttt
Thanks Mikey! Glad you like it.
This is great the channel that helped me find tanners channel is here and i watch you both every week
Maybe we could do a collab lol tanner does a build for one of your ant Colonies lol
Has anyone told you how inspirational your postings about your *failures* are to this member of the SerpaSquad? Such posts give me courage to keep going even when things go wrong. Your explanations are extremely helpful and inspirational. Thank you.
It’s amazing how on camera, you can mentally and emotionally imagine yourself living inside any one of your amazing terrariums and you get that feeling of healthiness and peace. I would imagine that in real life it’s even more magical. Amazing, you’re simply amazing🙏🏽🙌🏽
I dont know how i found your channel, but i am in absolute love watching these.
These videos are very relaxing to me. It's soothing to just listen to your voice and look at beautiful plants.
Oh, Tanner! I have been searching for instructions like this for so long! So much to love here: Your choice of Savory Stone is inspired, and I plan to use it in my build. I took copious notes and will begin gathering my materials today. I may not do this in a bioOrb but I have a huge metal and glass terrarium that will accommodate a waterfall like yours above beautifully. I will send phots when I complete it. Thank you for sharing your gift with us. You are such an artist.
How timely. I’m working on installing a pond in my new Biorbair. This will help and inspire me with my build. Glass frogs will be my residents
evan h I love frogs of every kind-even glassed ones! Good for you.
I liked the first set up but I love waterfalls. My favorite part is the grassy elements next to the pond.
The after shots of the pond are breathtaking. Fantastic job.
Wow man, been a long time viewer now and honestly this might be my favourite piece of your work!! It looks incredible! Your builds just keep getting better, I can never click on the video fast enough!! Awesome work Tanner, keep it up! Real inspiration😍😁!
I'm glad you notice the improvements! I like to think that my next project is my best project. Gotta keep improving right!?
Let’s test out the pond, I filled it up with water and let it rip!
Nothing big happens*
Well that was anticlimactic
😂😂😂👍
Wasn't lying was I?!
Ryu Stewart Haha! Loved it too!
Your shows always please but this build specifically has an indescribably calming and grounding effect on me. Thank you for sharing a truly Zen moment.
Beautiful as usual. It look so peaceful. Make me want to be real little so I could sit on the edge of the pond and stick my feet in the water
You are truly a master of your craft, man, it's nuts
Edit: like how did you get so much depth and diversity and complexity in that tiny ball, you're like a wizard
Gandalf the Green.
I look forward to your videos all week long, keep being fabulous.
@7:47, I always like to see the tiny Azola carolinianas play around the water fall base, like small kids playing catch me if you can. 😁😁
I liked the old but I really like this new set up. It fills the space a little bit better.
Fantastic work! Pleasure to watch you making this miniature worlds. Thank you for shearing.
Wow, again you have inspired me more than ever! Thank you for the passion you out into your videos! I’m building my CZcams channel and it’s all because of you tanner, thank you
i must say this might be the most impressive thing you have made in my opinion of course
Dude, I'd live in that for the rest of my life and die happy! So stunning and you make it look so effortless. I know it doesn't come together in real time the same as it does in the video but it's not really the time that makes the difference, it's your touch, your artistry. Bloody lovely mate, lovely. Big love from Scotland :)
I love the little pool of water in a forest look👍
I recently discovered your great videos. You made a childhood dream come true for me. An actual dream from when I was about 7. Technology has made it possible to create complete little worlds in containers. Your sense of scale and contrast are admirable. Your compositions are harmonious and balanced. Thank you for all you do and share!
This is my favorite version of the bio orb but they are all beautiful
Beautiful! You should put the mist maker with the pump though, it would make the mist spill out with the waterfall!
Great work Tanner! Thumbs up from Sweden👍👍👍 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
All your creations are just simply artistic, but this scape and pond combination is really something else...thanks for sharing!
Awesome! I have a three gallon bowl sitting around waiting for my next terrarium, I'm definitely going to try a waterfall in it. Thanks for the inspiration!
One of my favourite projects you've done, Tanner. Looks great!
Great rework, allthough I liked the old version too. But you toped yourself with this design. Nice work! 👍😎
Your work is always so beautiful. I love how you explain everything in detail, and prove that anyone can do it
It is beautiful. A mini tropical forest. I must do one for myself!
You’ve got a keen eye for design, sir. Thanks for the inspiration, as well...quite lovely!
Thank you for such a calming video, your work is very inspiring and I love that plants can be the focus in such a set up!
really love the video tanner! awesome setup.. something you can stare into forever.. flowing water has something magical about it.. i love the sound and could watch and listen to it for days..
That is SO beautiful! At some point I'll try to use some of your techniques and hopefully create something similar - But until then, I'll keep on enjoying your videos!
WOW! This one looks better than the first one and the first one was awesome!
Love watching you creat terrariums. So relaxing! You are so talented!!
Hey Tanner! I am absolutely in love with your videos, and over the past week I've been watching you Ive been really inspired to get into the hobby. I notice that most of your videos have the janky, auto-generated closed captions though, so if you're interested I'd be glad to write dedicated captions to alot of your videos! I have alot of deaf relatives who are into nature, and I think they would love your channel.
Your work is always absolutely magnificent. Thank you for sharing with us the endless possibilities. You're a wonderfully fantastic man.
Beautiful! 🤩 the biorb looks full but I’m sure the plants will still grow on. Can’t wait to see an update on this build. Great job Tanner!
Beautiful! The water Cascades down there rocks perfectly. I wish I could buy one from you
Amazing job mate, your knowledge of plants and nature is outstanding, thanks for such natural home sized decorative structures...👍
Love how it looks. Loved the multiple ferns.
You never fail to amaze me, never thought about putting a small pond into a biorb and yet here it is and looking better than ever.. good job as always! :)
Love how you explain why and what you use certain plants for. Gorgeous build has me wanting a bio orb even more now! 😁♥️
Best set up on the biorb air ever seen, love it.
Cheers from Argentina 🇦🇷
This is the prettiest thing I have ever seen. I love every element that you added. The grassy patches in the foreground really made it look like part of the forest floor. Just beautiful!
That looks absolutely amazing, you have amazing artistic abilities.
Awesome! Love It when you revamp! So cool to see you combine some of the favorites of your Art in a Sphere. Very captivating.
Tankcou Tanner.✌
Man I love your videos you literally light the way for inspiration.. I found your channel maybe a week ago and I'm just blown away. Thinking about buying this orb as well would make a great centerpiece
This is exquisite! So lush and beautiful
it's so crazy what you can do, your most recent scapes have really showed off your talents and I think you keep outdoing yourself just when I don't think it can get any better. awesome job dude
Can't wait for an update on this beautiful build!
As a new viewer to your channel (this is like the fifth one in a row) all I can say is stunning! Beautiful layout of the entire biorb. Thank you for making these videos. 😃
This was mesmerizing to watch. I would do crazy stuff to see this terrarium for real!! You are such an inspirational man!!
Jeez..u r the master of terrarium...nothing is impossible for you..once again awesome job Tanner!!!
Absolutely love this! Just made my waterfall with a cork bark tube, now wishing I did rock! I would love to see updates on the 180 vivarium! I can’t wait until you get your frogs!
To continue with the orchid theme, you could have added a miniature Phragmipedium. They enjoy having their roots in running water, while sitting on rocks covered in moss.
Super impressive, I’ve seen these in the past and had no idea where to begin. I’m a chef looking for something to bring some tranquility into my off hours, thank you for making these seem so approachable.
Just binged watched all your videos. Can’t wait to see what you do next.
Absolutely stunning, I love the little pond 🥰
Wow this one looks really good! Nice work
Love, Love, Love this build. I am going to try building my first ever closed terrarium and have NO clue what I am doing. lol. But I am going to give it my best shot .
I love when you do water features in your set ups .
Your videos are my favorite thing to watch on CZcams now. Thanks for showing your work. Inspiration galore.
I finally found a local aquatics store that sells springtails and isopods. Building lots of stuff!!
Absolutely amazing! Beautiful setup!
Wonderful looking end result!
Wow! Just wow. Simply amazing!
Tanner you are incredibly gifted and talented, whenever mentioning Bioactive setups, people should picture your vivariums. Thanks for what you do.
You're def my favorite youtuber! Love your videos, you give me lots of inspiration and some knowledge when it comes to terrarium building (:
Wow! I absolutely love this one, has really nice vibe to it
It’s a beautiful build! You have inspired my to make a waterfall Paludarium inside a 20 gallon tank with a betta, which are one of my favorite fish.
You have the best terrarium builds online!
Amazing work. I love the look of it.
THIS. IS. AMAZING! I just stumbled upon u and I'm so glad I did!! And springtails!!! 😍
Another craft well done! Keep em coming!
Another beautiful build! 😍

It is unique and really beautiful!
Gorgeous as always!
wow I just discovered this chanel and.. you. are. the. coolest. I'm overly excited to try all of this out
I love both of them, They are amazing.
Definitely the coolest biORB on the planet! 👍🌿👍🌿👍
Beautiful as always, Tanner. I love the red of the manzanita wood.
Isn't it cool? You typically don't see it with the bark still on it like that.
Gorgeous! I love how you put so much in a terrarium but it never seems forced, it always looks so natural.
Thank you! I appreciate that.
The detail is amazing
woow... these kind of projects always give me a ton of ideas!! Thank you again :D!!
How good you have become over the years is stunning. From meh its ok to realy outstanding pieces of living art id throw some serious cash at you for building one for me.
Great video as always. I'd really love to see a more arid setup, some kind of desert style terrarium. You could throw in some succulents and cacti. I feel like all your setups are really wet and wild. Could be a challenge to try something totally different!
This is a great update. Thank you for sharing!!!
This is absolutely beautiful
