  • Waterfall inside a jar (making a Paludarium style terrarium in a jar with a working waterfall)
In this video I have attempted to created a rocky mountain cliff scene with a working waterfall. I used a 3000ml glass container for this project. I drilled a hole on the glass for passing through the electric wire of the submersible pump that I am using to create the waterfall. a hardscape was created using Seiryu stones joined together with Silicone and superglue. A water test was done at this point ensure everything is working as planned. The pump was secured with aquarium filter floss and sponge so that dust and debris would not get in. (The sponge will also provide support to the rock hardscape).Next soaked Sphagnum moss was filled between the cracks of the rocks on which live sheet moss was planted. Gravel and some rocks were added in the foreground. Water was then added and the pump switched on. Next I proceeded with planting using aquatic plants like Anubias and Hydrocotyle. Selaginella was also added later. Aquatic Christmas Moss was added along the pathway of the waterfall to soften the flow of water. Finally some detailing wood were added to the scape to lift up the scene and a small piece of rock added at the top to hide the outlet pipe of the waterfall.

It is simply magical! I have been waiting for this video for a long time. Thanks for making it! Your editing makes it look so easy. I might try it. To me, once you bring out those long tweezers, the magic begins. I love the roots of the floaters in the foreground. The different shades of green are very pleasing to the eye, and the gentle trickle of the water is very relaxing. It must be much more wonderful to sit next to it and hear it. Best wishes! You are on the road to a million subscribers and more(soon).
