    Really enjoyed your teetering pile of Spring books, Miranda! I definitely covet the Marjolein Bastin classic editions, may be requesting these for my birthday. And I think I'll be buying the In the Garden essays, soon. I've just bought some of the Furrowed Middlebrow books, and I'm looking forward to reading those and I've had a good haul of non-fiction from the library, including: Ferdinand Mount's Kiss Myself Goodbye: The Many Lives of Aunt Munca and Felicity Cloake's One More Croissant for the Road. Oh, and Anthony Horowitz's Moonflower Murders is in the mix. I'm spoilt for choice! Looking forward to the next video. Have a lovely bank holiday weekend in Yorkshire 💛☀️

    As always this was a delight Miranda!
    I found a big stack of Miss Read original vintage hard copies a couple months ago, and had no one to squeal about it with (so I started a you tube channel just so I could show them LOL)
    I love your vintage finds the best! Your Mom is a fantastic present giver.

    Miranda, I love your pink rose blouse! So pretty! Your spring book haul really inspired me! I've got the Marjolein Bastin classic editions, too, and I love them! I'm really interested in the first book you shared, 'Seed to Dust'. I'm trying to decide if it would be my type of book. Sometimes, I get overwhelmed with garden elements or plants that I haven't heard of or don't know about - lol. Will you be sharing more from this book or extracts from it? Have a wonderful day!! Many hugs :D xoxo

    A wonderful selection of books Miranda, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing them all. Marjolein Bastin seemed a familiar name to me and I realised it is because I have just finished (after many years!) one of her cross stitch designs, Summer Fruit so I am very keen to see those beautiful books. And Stanley Wells is the husband of another favourite writer, of yours too I'm sure, Susan Hill. Thank you for a lovely video, happy reading, Teresa 🌷📚🌷 ps. loved seeing the Queen Anne's Lace and tulips next to you.

    I enjoy Barbara Pym's novels, so the book about her seems interesting. I am currently reading The Barbara Pym Cookbook. I downloaded it off of Hoopla and it is really quite good! It was compiled by her sister. Books and Bakes, perhaps?!

    Another embarrassment of riches! I’ve been reading the Mrs. Mallory mysteries by Hazel Holt and discovered that Hazel Holt and Barbara Pym shared an office. Now I want to re-read my Barbara Pym, then read the Adventures of Miss Barbara Pym. It sounds wonderful! Thank you for the recommendation.

    I'm fearing your wrap-up videos because those are the ones that make my wishlist grow by leaps and bounds. I should rename the wishlist "Books that passed the Miranda filter". Serious business.

Just in case you do not know, there is a wonderful documentary ( dvd) to the book of Peter Wohlleben, in german it has the same title as the book. Love these books and am adding them to my ever-growing TBR list, thank you for sharing. I was also thinking I would enjoy reading the gardening books in the winter as well. :) I really want to own the Poem For Everyday series as I think it would be so lovely to read a poem in the morning as a nice way to start your day and read a poem at night. Both poems would be lovely to reflect on during the day and while falling asleep. I love Bridget Jones's Diary, both movie, and book!!! Also, love The Yellow Wallpaper. It seems women were put into institutions for all and any sort of reason. Sorry for the chatty comment. I love your clothing style.

    Oh I would LOVE to get those special editions of the Jane Austen books and also the Jane Eyre! They are so beautiful! I just have a question for you Miranda. If you have already answered this in a video then never mind, but my trouble is, knowing when to stop reading a book I am not enjoying. Sometimes I have invested enough time in the book that I say, "Well I might as well finish it." But usually it was not worth it and I wish I hadn't wasted my time. There are so many wonderful books and not near enough time to read them all so we have to be picky. Do you quit reading books you are not liking? And if yes, when do you feel you have given it enough of a chance? What is your advice?

    • @marty9011
      @marty9011 Před 3 lety

      I stop reading a book I don't like easily. Why should you bother with it. There are no reading police. You are not a school anymore .
