2023 was defiantly a strange year all around! As a viewer of your channel for many years I have really enjoyed seeing what you have put out and seeing the small little snippets of your life. But as a content creator myself I know how hard it is to find a balance of wanting to share you life while struggling through some of the hardest stuff. And even when you have people around you and in your corner it can feel really lonely. I'm really glad that you are taking time for your self this next year and doing what feels right for you in the moment! Hopefully 2024 in a better year for you and the things you were and are struggling with lessen! Sending good healing vibes in 2024!

2023 was definitely the year of change for everyone!
For me, I started my first job ever (in my field of choice) and am now so so so happy I managed to snatch a spot at the company I work for, I genuinely do not know what I would've done otherwise. Also, I managed to lose some of the pandemic weight I gained and I'm so proud of myself for that! :)))

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I am definitely not here solely for your productivity inspiration. We change throughout the years and it’s encouraging to see that I am not the only one who has slumped on “productivity” and decided rest was more important than getting all the things done and accomplished as quick as possible.
2023 was… a year. I graduated with my BA in English and Creative Writing. Published my second novel. And moved my entire family from Kansas to Texas. And that was wall done by June. The second half of the year was not productive at all. The adjustment for my children in the move has affected me more than I thought it would. So my word for 2024 is Boundaries. I want to set boundaries for myself and my extended family (we have been away from family for 12 years and now live next to basically my entire family). I think I extended myself too far the second half of the year. So, boundaries and balance are my focus. I’ve also decided not to publish this year but to write at least two books. Maybe three. And that is kind of freeing. I’m exited to see what this year has in store for me and my family.

I'm proud of myself for getting beta readers in 2023. I'm proud of myself for switching to working in a daycare and adjusting well and enjoying working with infants in 2023. I'm proud of myself for writing to God almost every month in 2023 (missed one month) and capturing moments of hardship, joy, and seeing my growth as I read back. I'm proud of myself for moving into an apartment in 2023.
My word for 2024 is energy ! Hoping to protect my energy more. Ties into health and well-being. Also, yeah I think the struggle was noticeable, but that's okay. It's been rough for me too. I hope things pick up for us. Been on a wellness journey myself lately. Productivity doesn't have to be the only thing that's useful and valuable. Learning that as I've graduated recently. Finding a new flow
2023 was a weird year for me, I'm still I think finding my way to things I love. I stopped writing sometime in 2022 and while I haven't done much, I've opened up the documents.
I went back to school (which was so incredibly hard to do)
I became an aunt
I got a promotion at work along with a raise
And I got an internship
I feel like every year we have very similar mindsets. Like sometimes I watch a video and you’re talking about something I’m literally in the middle of! I went into 2023 with all these goals (and did so well with them) but I don’t really have much for next year. I know I want to learn (languages, piano, etc) and that I need to figure out where I want to live next but I don’t really have many plans. I keep saying my word is going to be Home for 2024 because I could use that in the literal term but also in my love life, my self growth, and more, but it also feels weird because I can’t really plan for it.
If you put out a 3 hour vlog of you just chatting away, I’m p sure most of us would be thrilled. We’re here for *you*! Here’s hoping 2024 is the year for Broken Perfect Lies - imo it’s your best book.

I've been here since your senior year in college, and the productivity-focused content was always great but so is the slower-days, random lifestyle and reflection content, honestly whatever you do is enjoyable :- ) I haven't decided on my word for 2024 but it will be probably something along the lines of adventure or courage because I plan to do some things I've been putting off and that I'm nervous and excited about :- )
My word for next year is "complete" :) I start a lot of creative projects, but almost never finish any off them! So I will try to focus more on that so that it maybe becomes a habit after a while! This year has been hard, but I have tried to do at least on thing out of the ordinary each month and I have some great memories from that! :)
completing projects really is an entirely different skillset! I think finishing the first one or two is the toughest for sure. Wishing you the best of luck in 2024! 💓

Your honesty about your struggles, and your excitement about the things that you truly enjoy, are the reasons I'm still watching. I saw something recently that talked about the importance of cycling between "growth" phases and "maintenance" phases. You can't forever be in a building/rapid growth phase, or you do get majorly burned out.
That being said, here's to kicking 2024 right in the teeth!

In 2023 I sent the part of my book that I have finished in to a literary agent. She is ready to publish when I finish. Hoping to finish in 2024. Been a long time coming.
2023 was HARD for so many people (me included), and I'm really hopeful that 2024 is going to be better!
2024 word for me is Nourish - because, damn, I need that. Just to nurture myself a bit more in all ways - self care, putting my own writing ahead of others, same with my career.

2023 was definitely a year of change and was really hard at times, but i also finished my first ever adult fantasy manuscript and i can say very confidently it's the strongest thing i've ever written, and for that reason i'm excited to move forward into the new year :) wishing you all the best for 2024!!

Proud of you and glad you've been working on your health more. Definitely agree as we get older we just don't realise how much our bodies and priorities change until we look back on it. Glad you wrote your list of good things to remind you.
Managed to fund a family holiday finally for 2 adults and 2 kids. Gets expensive!
The end of the year has been better with work. Have been going well with edits. Have been working a lot on my mental health and can see a big turn and change with that mainly in the last couple of months. And I've recently started posting more content on my channel which I didnt have any time for before. So that's been really fun.
I'm lowering my hours at work in 2024 and I'm just looking forward to being able to focus more on creativity and my kids, husband and my health more rather than grinding long days at a job I haven't loved. And by doing that is making me like the job more because I won't be there missing out on so much that is more important in life. Moving house next month as well, so long as our building isn't delayed more.
