I have two MIVV GPs on my TDM 900 (the really short ones), and I have to say without the db killer my brain melts out of my head. It is friggin loud, puts some Harleys to shame on the "annoy everyone around you" scale. With the db killers in though it does bring out the lovely sound of the 270 twin withouth being stupidly loud, thus they are staying in :) Looks great with the new pipe, hope to see other mods comming! Also sounds rather decent, even though I am the biggest fan of inline fours. Keep it up good Sir!
Looks nice. I've fitted a Remus powercone on my FZ1 Fazer, huge improvement over the dust bin stock can, can't believe how much that thing weighs! Recently discovered your channel, enjoying your vids. Subbed.
+Samuel Gillard Thanks Samuel and welcome aboard! I bet the Remus sounds very nice! It seems everything is an upgrade from that humungous stock can! I almost had to rig a winch up out of belts and zip-ties wrapped around the garage rafters to get the beast off!
Each it’s actually for sale now in the USA for less than $200, I think $181,$182,183 or there abouts ….which me being novice in wrenching a bike at best ,is why I’m watching this to decide if want to chance it …think if/ when I do this ,me being on is side of the pond will drill and chisel the honeycomb out too…
Hey Vic. The wrenching involved with changing the end can it’s about as minimal as it gets mate. You’ll be fine. The sound is definitely improved with the removal of the CAT in the header pipe! 😉
Sounds ace mate..... and drive by noise tests is what it is all about so adding that was aces too! :-) Just as a side note, the way you put the spring on may catch clothing or scrap skin when cleaning the bike, if you put it on with the closed ends of the hooks outwards it'll be smoother than a smooth thing should your clothes/fingers/knuckles brush against it! :-)
+Hippo-Drones I was expecting a little more noise from the flyby. But then i wasn't going super quick! Good tip with the spring. Makes perfect sense. Cheers!
I did the Yoshimura R77 exhaust on my 2012 FZ1...and it 'saved' almost 10 US Pounds...and sounds very similar to your Storm unit. I have the next Gen engine, but had the very same exhaust.
+Solis 560 Possibly. Though i think in this case it is a cost saving exercise. Way faster to pop in a rivet than fiddle with a nut and bolt. Less parts too. The more expensive, but almost identical, MIVV oval can has a bolted in baffle.
@@MackoUrsa LOL you can't lose a rivet, the whole point is that it can't be removed without drilling them out. What you must have lost is the bolt/screw.
Lovely! I agree, the new trend of stubby cans don't appeal to me. To these old eyes, the stacks are an integral part of the bike's design, and should compliment it, and not resemble something for a Briggs & Stratton.
I fitted a full Yoshi R77 carbon to a former 2011 FZ1. ECU flash, Powercommander V with custom map, PAIR removed and blockoffs, K&N filter, snorkel out, and airbox cut. Baby made 150 whp and sounded rad. Everything was improved, throttle felt like a well tuned carburetor. Bike ran cooler, much less vibration, fuel economy was the same, no torque dips and super controlled throttle. No per-gear restrictions, no ignition or throttle fly restrictions. Yamaha restricted the bike a LOT from factory. www.ivansperformanceproducts.com/stkvsfinalSO.gif
The stock bazooka they put on is awful. The new can sounds much better. Does it have a removable baffle? Do you need to remap for it to make the most of the new can?
It’s certainly big! But I’ve heard worse. In any case, it still had to go!! The newest can (Speedpro Cobra SPX) is even better still! To a certain degree, the ECU compensates for the different character of the end can. As such, no need to remap. Maybe with a full system and a sports air filter you might need to consider a remap.
Ok, you can go on holiday now, but don't forget to water the bike, I mean the cats, and by that I mean the Triumph Tiger Sport, so that it grows into a big bike next year for you to test ride.
Thank you for this video i jut purchased a 2008 FZ1 with 6k like new just like you and iam going to do the exhaust mod soon. That pipe is crazy loud oooooweeeeeee. I have been looking at Delkevic but i want this exhaust here in america. I want one where do i get one?
My pleasure! Thanks for watching! I have to say though, that the Cobra SPX that I had on after this was MUCH louder!! czcams.com/video/M1NdsawFt40/video.html
En mi anterior Fz1 2007 monte el mivv oval inox 265€ en la Fz1 2011 que tengo ahora estoy pensando en montar el storm gp inox 211€ o el mivv gibbli 328€ Creo que al final será el storm.
Thinking of getting one of these next.... So, in the fitting part of video, tail tidy........in the riding video......stock.... Do you live in altered time....?
I live in a fantastical TV like world where continuity is a flexible and transient being! ;D I actually removed that hideous home made tail tidy straight after fixing up the new pipe, hence the return to stock rear end. :D
2 months ago, a fool in a truck ran a stop sign and totaled my 2008 Versys with 21,000 miles. 10 days ago, I bought a 2009 Versys to replace it. It was being sold by the original owners widow. It had 745 miles on it. That is not a typo. It had not even completed the break-in period.
+Gordon Waltham Hi GW. Apparently not. The CAT that stays in the pipe allegedly still brings the bike under TÜV and AU testing limits. It's just no longer EURO3 compliant. Though we'll see for sure in 2019 when the next test is due!
Okay. So I watched your Q&A video and made a comment that was a bit long and wanted to say something else but felt guilty so I did not write it and I thought why not come to this video and say it here with nicely clipped, short sentences but that didn't work either. Anyway.....You mentioned that you liked silly humour and fell in love with Monty Python. Have you ever listed to the people they stole almost everything from? They are known as, The Goons. Mostly radio, though they tried a bit of telly and it didn't work very well. It takes a while to get to know the characters but there are some seriously genius lines of comedy in their sketches. czcams.com/video/vdzlGsnHpRU/video.html Seriously good to listen too as you ride the boring motorways.
much much better! really enjoy the mechanic/garage videos
Thanks! Glad to hear it as LOTS more are on the way !
Much better sound... Nice
Cheers, I totally agree!
I remember the last muffler you beat off of the versys. Even I had a headache after that . Cheers!!!
I know right!! I almost felt disappointed with this one as it was too easy!

I can imagine that sounds pretty meaty! I'm happy with the sound of mine with killers in too tbh. I wanted a bit more noise, not ALL of the noise!
Looks nice. I've fitted a Remus powercone on my FZ1 Fazer, huge improvement over the dust bin stock can, can't believe how much that thing weighs! Recently discovered your channel, enjoying your vids. Subbed.

Sweet. Nice tunnel work.
+Roussillon 1 Thanks. It had to be done!
That looks and sounds way better mate. I would put some blue loctite on that nut. Ride safe mate.
Cheers mate! I think you might have a point there... (forgets, pipe falls off at 80mph...)
Yeah, that's filthy! Will sound mega on the 3rd gear twisties.
You're so very right! I just need a chance to prove it!
Sounds much nicer dude. Keep the vids coming
+Spectre223 Cheers mate! Will do!

Hey Vic. The wrenching involved with changing the end can it’s about as minimal as it gets mate. You’ll be fine. The sound is definitely improved with the removal of the CAT in the header pipe! 😉
Nice one mate of course I got to hear that live in the tunnel......noisy bugger he he

Oh Thank God! I am so glad someone told you about the spring on the muffler. I saw it and forgot to say something. Bless you and be careful. jdm
Which reminds me, I've still not remembered to change it yet!!
hahaha, he's not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy! :D
Pfff barky poppage.... finanz minister editing. Was expecting a shizzle full of expletives when the Can spring sprung... 😂🏍💨😊🍻🍻
The expletives I have to dial in cos my mum watches. I am just a dancing puppet for a squabble of oppressive overlords!!

It's such a simple but huge weight saving! And that extra noise....
Looks/sounds better Andy 👍
Btw 3:57 wing mirror face reveal 👀
AMC has a beard! :-O Well, there goes my mental guess of what he looks like.
OOps! Blink and you'll miss it!!!
It was just a disguise...
He was on German TV so you can see him much clearer there, but hey :P
I read that before, but never saw a link to it. And I just assumed they showed him in shadowed profile like an organized crime informant. ;-)
Well done....Look's good..good Sound. .🖒
Cheers!
Sounds great.
+Curve Ahead Cheers!
You missed the dB killer removed sound check..
+Jay B Sadly in these pipes the db killer is riveted in. There's no power in my garage so i had to leave it. Another day perhaps.
+Solis 560 Possibly. Though i think in this case it is a cost saving exercise. Way faster to pop in a rivet than fiddle with a nut and bolt. Less parts too. The more expensive, but almost identical, MIVV oval can has a bolted in baffle.
Nope. MIVV Oval has the db killer riveted in. Had, actualy. I sort of lost the rivet somewhere... O:)
@@MackoUrsa LOL you can't lose a rivet, the whole point is that it can't be removed without drilling them out. What you must have lost is the bolt/screw.
@@HalfdeadRider Yeah I can. I "lost" it with a drill :D

That sounds bloody brilliant! Lot of money spent there though! I'll have to take it a step at a time!
Nice pipe there chap
Thanks you very much dear fellow!
Nice bike, could you tell me how much you pay for this exhaust please? There isn't any price on their website
I think it was about 250€
Didn't you have a video of the SP COBRA ? why did you delete it ? wasnt it good or ?
The video sadly wasn't performing well. I regularly try to remove any videos that aren't doing well, to stop them affecting the channel.

The ticking noise is troubling though. What's causing that? Timing belt (do these even have one)? Or what?
It worried me at first too. But apparently it's typical for the bike. Just need to make the pipes louder!
Ok, you can go on holiday now, but don't forget to water the bike, I mean the cats, and by that I mean the Triumph Tiger Sport, so that it grows into a big bike next year for you to test ride.
Hahaha! Thanks! If only it was that easy to line up bikes for next season! I'd have a greenhouse and an allotment instead of a garage!!
You might find a pateron dorrar or two to help ;)
Also, that can sounds very manly, Andy Man Camly, in fact. Ok, I'll go now.
+disekjoumoer That WOULD be rather splendid! 😀
It is done, the foul deed!
Grüße aus Stuttgart 😄
Moin!
Almost thought you had forgotten the tunnel rev bomb...but no, thank goodness!
Did you get the fuel cut off thing sorted in the end?
NEVER!!! No sadly not yet. That will require an ECU remap. Boosterplug has helped though.
what about the answers to the "qwestions" video?
+S Fear not! They're next up!
You'll have to rename yourself Andy Man Can.

Hi, after two years, could you tell us if the exhaust is still ok?
Hi! I would love to, but I'm now 3 exhausts further on from that one! I've had no complaints from the guy that I sold it to, so I assume all is well!

nice video. Did you get anything performance wise.
Not that I could really tell. I think maybe the engine felt a little more ‚free‘. But. Not enough difference to tell on my crude butt-dyno.

what about the test without DB killer??? 😏
Unfortunately on this can, the dB Killer is riveted in. So if I’d taken it out, i wouldn’t have been able to get it back in!
Sounds great :)
Now remove the baffle , and throw it away :)
There's a good boy :)
No can do! The rozzers are tight on that stuff and it invalidates your insurance! Plus it's riveted in!
I just finished watching your €-Tour videos and see that some of the wet has leaked into this one. Sorry about that.
+psychotic memories Haha! It follows me everywhere mate! 😂
30k KMs you say? My 07' FZ6 had only 12k on it this summer.
