Great book for a beginner . czcams.com/users/postUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ this book really starts from the beginning, as in it explains what basic tools are and how to use them. But when it gets to the art of creating joints and how and when to use them this book really starts to teach you something. At least that was my experience.
Jimmy’s ability to carve with a bandsaw is beyond amazing. Beautiful piece!
Hell, he’s got exceptional ability with anything!
I was thinking the same thing. He plays the bandsaw like it’s a fiddle!
I just told my brothers who are carpenters the same thing! freaking awesome!
bandsaw skills on a hole other level!!!
But you can’t beat Sam at bandsaw work!
The whole time I'm thinking "My name is Edith Ann and I'm 5 1/2 years old".
Gorgeous Jimmy!!! I love the stain color! I bet it's comfy!
It’s something I can see a little bit of Maloof in his process. I remember seeing a few documentaries on Malouf making chairs, and he did the same thing with the band, shaping the rocking chair, always by hand and all the parts, the arms, the legs, the joints all done with the band saw done by hand
A rocking chair is the number one thing most home woodworkers are afraid to make. You made it look easy. I appreciate all of the years you put in to get to this point and you continue to be the first vid I go to with the weekend updates. You are a Maker Stud. Thanks a ton for all you do. I really appreciate it.
As many times as I've watched you run the band saw, it still amazes me how comfortable and proficient you are with it. I enjoy my band saw, but you have taken it to a whole new level. Very nice work on this chair.
Seriously. Makes it look so easy, I feel like a fool when I try to use mine 🤣
Maloof must be smiling down knowing people still love his designs and keep making them to this day, top work Jimmy what an awesome heirloom piece to have for yourself 👍🏻
You work with the bandsaw like Sam did! Bravo 👍
Sam would be proud. Nicely done Jimmy.
Amazing work. You remain the "Botticelli of the Bandsaw". A true artist.
Jimmy makes this look so easy. I’ve been wanting to try making one of these for as long as I can remember but it’s an intimidating project.
Now this is classic Maloof inspired Diresta!
I hope you gave that to someone you love, Jimmy.
So nice.
You nailed it Jimmy. Sam would be proud!
I challenge anyone to watch that and not want to have a go. Jimmy Diresta once again inspiring the world to make something and push their boundaries. Thank you Jimmy ❤️
Great to see you working in wood again.
Who needs a Starrett caliper when you have a Diresta finger 14:45 😂. For me the Maloof Rocker is the most beautiful design of a rocking chair ever👍🏻
Best band saw operator ever.
How in the gods name you make it look so easy? No reason you’re the ‘makefathet’. Respect ✊ to the GOAT.
Bro… the fact that his starts with a “rough” sketch and ends up with that beauty is mind-blowing to me!
The master of tools. I love watching the older industrial tools the most. I’m envious of your skill and experience. Thank you.
Something real spooky about a rocker chair rocking on its own 😂nice work jimmy that chair will last a long time
Can't wait for your new show to air!!
Jimmy that is a beautiful chair 💺.
Thanks for sharing and God bless
That was awesome! That was the Ghost of Tom Joad at the end rocking back and forth.
You are a surgeon with that beast of a bandsaw
Damn Jimmy, this beautiful... I think Sam would be impressed! Thank you for sharing.,
You are the absolute master of the bandsaw!
Thank you for this video that doesn't use a cnc router, plasma table, or anything computer ran! Good old fashioned diresta talent!
lol that tiny blade on that huge bandsaw is awesome
This is why Jimmy is the MJ of makers
Another masterpiece.
Fantastic job Jimmy.
Jimmy has taught me that recognizing the processes that need more attention to get an awesome final product it's a skill by itself
Do you ever tire of hearing how talented you are? We tell you all the time, but why? You already know that. We are inspired by your creativity and talent. When I watch you make something, be it from wood, steel, or leather, it makes me believe that I can do that too. Yes, you have a lot of equipment that I will probably never be able to afford, but when I watch you make things like this chair, I am convinced that I can use the tools I have to make great things.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Wow this speaks volumes.
Absolute wizard on the bandsaw!!!
So many moments of brilliance to be gleaned from Diresta videos …and when you notice a work flow interruption …you just know its Jimmy’s meditative/creative way to process the task … and I now know a little about Sam Maloof !!! Thanks for sharing !!!
Fascinating chair !
Now Mista Diresta, grab your crown, a beer, a cigar and chill. Fantastic work. Thanks for the show!
I love the way you just do it. Don’t overthink it, just do it.
Man, Jimmy. You're a master with that bandsaw. Love it. Thanks for the awesome content!
Maloof was a self taught bandsaw master too. Love seeing this build pop up!
Lots of hard work but what an heirloom piece. Should last centuries.
this is not a chair it is a sculpture you are a great carpenter
Master of all trades. Unbelievable disparate skill set. Make it again Jimmy but next time with aluminum rockers, a vacuum formed plastic seat, carbon fiber legs and molded epoxy back.
It's amazing how deceptively effortless this build appears. It would take me days just to muster the courage to make the first cut.
Such a classic shape. Love it.
Wow, super piece of art. In the beginning I thought you are making dining table chairs.
Never mind the ability, there's no way I'd have the patience to build something as curvy as that. Exquisite work, Jimmy!
It's always so amazing to see how much you can shape with a band saw
Amazing craftsmanship! It is truly one of your best builds in my opinion. Congratulations.
He freaking free handed it on band saw. I mean holy.... That's next level.
Wow,fantastic and beautiful Jimmy!
Some projects, once started can strangely take full control and won't let you go until it's finished, just like watching your videos, that is an unapointed but welcomed enigma in any project.I loved the entire build, a beautiful piece of functional furniture art.
Certainly captures the essence of Sam, nice work.
It's gorgeous Jimmy.....really beautiful !!!
The way you're able to do this with the bandsaw mostly is so cool
This will awesomely haunt some luck place rocking alone in the middle of night
Beautiful job Jimmy!
Awesome piece of work
your most beautiful piece Jimmy!
Great work! Thanks for posting, and thumbs up.
Jimmy, love your content. Keep them coming.
Can we just talk about the bandsaw magic. AMAZING!
That chair rocks!
Best CZcamsr merch ever
That is a beautiful chair !
Classic Diresta! Bandsaw magic, unbelievable skills, tons of elbow grease and zero CNC!
That. Was. AWESOME! I watch a few woodworkers on CZcams. Jimmy ain't one of them. This man is a craftsman. He makes wood sing.
Super fun to watch a Master. Inspiring.
Diresta and Maloof two masters!!!
Awesome chair!
I’ve never seen anyone work a bandsaw like that! Wow. Awesome project. Thanks for sharing.
Meloof was one of the best as a builder and designer and a great person. Diresta you nailed it also
Beautiful!
Beautiful job Jimmy ! I just can’t get over how much you look like your father ! Glad to see you in that shop doing well. Tell everyone I said hello. 👍👋
Diresta.... sei un grande!!!
E come si dice dalle mie parti: "cada poddiche un'arte" tradotto in italiano "ogni dito un'arte" 🙋♂️
Stunning!
A true piece of art.

I imagine 20 yrs from now, you and Samurai sitting in your rocking chairs, having a hologram zoom call.

i've been following you may be for ten years and i'm still impressed by your dexterity with a bandsaw... Very nice chair Jimmy.
love the idea of the resin and wood dust used as gap filling glue, gona nick that idea
Beautiful love the freestyle way you build.

Amazing work Jimmy!!
Thank you 🙏🏼
Amazing workmanship!
Work of art.
I like how your sketches are full size makes building anything so mush easier, when I was a kid my dad would sketch one of his ideas on a paper napkin and say can you make this, thanks Jimmy for all these video memories🤗😎🤗😎
