Great book for a beginner . czcams.com/users/postUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ this book really starts from the beginning, as in it explains what basic tools are and how to use them. But when it gets to the art of creating joints and how and when to use them this book really starts to teach you something. At least that was my experience.
Some people have “restless leg syndrome”. Jimmy’s legs are not restless - they waited 8 years to contribute! 😂😂😂. Awesome build Jimmy!
When I saw those table legs I remembered seeing them from the early early days of this channel :)
I'll tell you what, there are not many things better than sitting down with a cup of coffee on a Saturday morning and watching Jimmy Diresta build something.
Agreed 👍🏼
Wow thank you! Both 💪🏼🙏🏼
It's a great way to start the day! 🌲🌲🌲
Amen.
it's friday and I'm watching this in an armchair with a bottle of beer in my hand, feels pretty good too
At the end of the first voice over segment he said “ok, back to the shop noises.” That put a big smile on my face. I love the sound of Jimmy’s videos.
My wife who never watches CZcams says," He never could have built that in the little place he had in New York". So. She does watch over my shoulder! Beautiful build Jimmy!! Thanks for the content.
Jimmy, as a Canadian I nominate you as an honorary citizen for using Robertson screws.
❤😂
LOVE the throwback to the basement shop footage. Man, the memories...you are the inspiration to my love of woodworking. Granted i am just a weekend warrior, but i learned so much from watching you. Much love and continued success Jimmy. Appreciate you!!
❤
Can’t believe I’ve been watching you for almost 8 years
Nice throwback to the basement you found on the streets of New York 🤍
Thank you for doing the voice over .. makes it much more enjoyable to watch
Watching the clip inserted of making the table legs was such a blast from the past!!!
This table brings back so many memories of my grandparents' "big table" as they called it. They had ten children, so you can imagine how many of us grands there were. We had a long bench on one side. Great memories. Your family and friends will enjoy this!!
The magic that is Jimmy Diresta never ends. If I tried to pour glue into a small bottle that casually, I'd have more on me and the floor than in the bottle! 🤣
Fun to see Jimmy the Paint Can again.
Always fun to watch you work, thanks for the vid 👍
"The Home Depot Shop" HAHA, funny guy. Beautiful table, thanks for sharing!
The potential of an empty table 😊
That table flip over was well executed 🎉
Awesome content
Love all the hard work
Miss the old shop
Vintage classic table
When you have more than you need, build a bigger table, not a taller fence. But, you know, don't rush it.
Man, when you did the table flip I thought it was all over with. Good one.
Man, I’m so glad I found you here on CZcams. I’ve always enjoyed your videos on Facebook. I’ve always been creative, but your ideas and abilities are way up next level to mine. But you do give me ideas, and inspire me.
Now that is a nice dining table.
I love the legs and the finish to the table is spot on. 👌 🏅👍🏽👏
A good way to get timber to cup is to only varnish one side
I thought this. Looked at a job recently and they’d fit a massive oak bar top and only finished one side. It subsequently cupped upwards. I dread to think what I cost.
It cost
I was thinking the same thing, should have sealed both sides.
I will. Just a timing thing. As of now we are flat 🙏🏼
I love the 'simple' design. Thanks for sharing!
Good to hear your voice! Sweet table. Lookin' healthy!!!
A perfect table for the last supper.
Nostalgia kicking in from the old shop. Especially, the axe.
Most amazing skill was that glue bottle refill, without it spilling all over.
Wife and I built a 10-footer a couple years ago. A future heirloom. This is a gorgeous piece of work. (I love starting off my Saturdays with a new Diresta build.) And you're looking leaner, Jimmy. Way to go 👊
"When the legs are ready.......the Master will appear!" Hahahahah! Nice job! DD
You need to sign and date that!!! It's a work of art, you worked hard on it and over the years when it gets past down people are going to want to know who and when. I wish I had the room for a table like that. Just gorgeous! Love the legs! And that detail trim is sweet!
I’m going to make a new family dining room table this year. I think this is the design to go with. Love it.
As usual nice work, Jimmy!
Outstanding 👍 Love the colors..man looks great.🎯💯💰
I’ve found that turning spindles to match is not easy. Having a big area to build is probably something you’re always thankful for since leaving the NYC shop. I too like the machine noise.
Fabulous! Such a splendid canvas for a grand meal with friends & loved ones. Thank you for sharing!
I remember watching you make this when I was single. Now i’m married with kids watching you finish, how time flies.
I'm only a weekend hobbyest, but every time I watch Jimmy I learn something new. Plus, his skill and love of the work with his skill and inventiveness helps give me something to strive for..
It was really cool to see your old shop!
Simple elegant awesome great job jimmy
That's a gorgeous table! Amazing like always! Something that would have been made 100 years ago and it will last a hundred year also!
Man, after you put that Gleem on the tabletop, the color & shine really took it to another level. Awesome job.
Sure is a good thing the hatchet works and that tree was dead!
Awesome work!
Ty for explaining what you were doing. Am learning alot. Ty.
PS: Those "clips" are genius.
Very kewl to see the basement shop again!!
super nice color👍
When you said you made the legs years ago, I completely forgot about the Manhattan shop videos! ❤
Great job Jimmy you are an awesome Carperter/Master of most trades.
I've been dazzled by your creativity since you and John did Trash to Cash. Love what you do.
Been watching all your videos for the last 12 years or so I think the letterpress video got me hooked … just wanted you to know you inspired so many talents I’ve developed over the years … and i appreciate it man.
I exactly remember the video where you made those legs, and I've remembered them a few times over the years thinking if they ended up in some project off camera. Glad to see them used in this wonderful table.. Cant believe it's been 8 years! :D
Awesome Video! You have been one of my inspirations for my own youtube channel!
Wow the good old nyc underround shop.. It's been a couple years Jimmy !! Awesome work brother !
The Basement!🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Hello!!! It's very beautiful, I like it
Now that’s a table.
Cutting down the 2x6 so it doesn’t look like a 2x6 makes so much sense
I like it when you comment on your videos. Nice voice, informativ 😊
Wow, that is beautiful!
Beautiful Jimmy 👍👍👍
I'm from West Virginia and absolutely love this. It looks so welcoming of many family feast.
Old school, classic Diresta build. Thank you.
Nice throwback to the old shop!! You haven't aged a day!! 🤘
Hello Mr. Jimmy, I admire your work, congratulations!! Greetings from São Paulo SP-Brazil
The new New Yankee Workshop.
Looks great. I heard the podcast and really looked forward to seeing this.
I am becoming a BIG fan, of those Robertson drive screws!
Was assembling something, had the screw in all the way, and
the tip of the bit, in the screw, and it held up the driver and
everything, going horizontally into some boards. (18 volt
full size driver. Screw and bit held the whole thing up.)
steve
Glad se see you use Canadian screws.
Turning logs into tables, my favorite thing first thing in the morning 👌
I wish i could do what you do, love your dedication and love for making things. I have learned so much by just watching. Thank you sir!
Cool! I remember the Table Legs Video in youre City shop! Very cool! Thx & with greetings from north germany
Good morning, how are you? I am a loyal follower of your channel, Reda from Tunisia. I admire you very much. You are truly wonderful
Beautiful and rustic👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Beautiful table, Jimmy! Amazing work!!! 😃
Those old legs look great there! Nicely done!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
i remember making these legs.
Haven’t watched in a while, you look great Jimmy! Love the table!
Beautiful table Jimmt
can't argue with that!
Glad you are reclaiming your house! Beautiful heirloom table, Jimmy.
Wow! Feeling inspired.
Gorgeous
Beautiful!
Beautiful piece. Helpful to see how it was done. Thank you.
Lot's of space for guests at Jimmy's table.
I met a couple years ago, the husband was 100, his wife, 96, and they had a large round table that he had made himself. He told me to look closely at the wear and tear on the now antique piece of furniture. He said that a whole lot of homework had been done by their children on that table. I hope Jimmy's new table can hold priceless memories like that in its future.
❤️✊🏼🙏🏼
Wonderful.
Jimmy...vc é um verdadeiro artista.
SENSACIONAL.
Te sigo no CZcams a 10 anos.!!
Another great video, thank you. Say, it seems like you have guests coming over, a couple of commenters noted the underside not finished and you one-coated the trestle. The design allows for you to easily return to finishing, which could easily take another week. It looks great, and functional, per usual.
Hope you win Jimmy.
Man!!! I wish I could do just one build with Jimmy. The stuff I could learn in a short time. Those clips under the table were stellar. I built our dining room table right when I started doing some woodworking and made almost every mistake possible. It’s still standing though 😂👍🇺🇸
Cool to see the old NYC shop while you were making the legs. Impressive you could find the legs. I would have lost them for sure.
That's a beautiful table!
2/25/23; ..logs-to-lumber...to beautiful Dining RoomTable, seating for 8! Wow! Jimmy, 8 family 👪 members at one table...that is a whole lot of Speghetti, meat balls, 🍅 tomato sauce & red 🍷! Your video today makes me hungry!...but it's just after Mardi🎉 Gras down here ⚜️🎊...& ya know..some people wanna do Lent..ya know..kinda cut back on 🍺wicked 🍷 indulgements..& here you come with this beautiful table..hyp-no-tizing us back to our bad 'Ole habits...yup! Love yur video 2day! A+ 👍👍👍👏🤷😊
Всё гениальное просто. 👍
Ahhh, the old New York Shop..... Heh heh heh!
It's been awhile....
That table is a real classic and your style gives it a rich patina,I think this will be a passer downer for sure thanks for your efforts🤗😎🤗😎
Well, if it doesn’t fit through to the dinning room, it’s a beautiful work bench
Loved the table right up to you dying the top terracotta and then glossing it
Killed it again! ❤️❤️❤️💪💪💪
